"Yeah...I wasn't the most strapping lad back then, was I?" He joked with a soft chuckle, eyeing the photo a bit more. The photo was obviously taken on a beach - they were all standing under a large blue beach umbrella, he and his father were shirtless and his mother and sisters were in their swimming suits. They were quite the attractive family. "I do," he confirmed, scrambling for a moment to come up with a lie, "he was the one taking the photo. He never liked his picture taken," he lied smoothly. Which was, he guessed, somewhat true. Wesley was always dodging the camera whenever his mother would pull it out.

He merely shrugged when Tegan stated that she was wearing a pair of his sweatpants. "I don't care. You can wear whatever the hell you want," he said nonchalantly. "Would you care to go out for breakfast? Denny's, perhaps?" Nicholas suggested, hoping that she would comply. They hadn't gone on an official date yet plus there was nothing at his house to eat; he had yet to do the grocery shopping.

Quietly laughing when Nicholas told her he wasn't the strongest looking person when he was twenty years old, Tegan turned her head back to the photo. "You were cute though," She added, nodding her head when he explained his brother didn't like being in photos. "Denny's sounds good, I could go for some pancakes." Tegan agreed, walking out of the office and to Nicholas' bedroom so she could change her shirt. She didn't want to change into jeans so she was going to keep his sweatpants on. She didn't care about wearing sweatpants in public, the only person she cared to impress just told her he didn't care about what she wore.

Taking off her baggy t-shirt, she changed into a bra and the shirt she wore last night, Tegan turned towards Nicholas. "Ready, and I'm not changing my pants so you're going to have to deal with me looking homeless and you looking nice." She said, he was dressed in his normal nice clothes. She's sure people would mistake her for someone homeless. Pulling the hair tie out of the bun, she ran her fingers through her hair a few times to tame it and walked out of the room so she could put her sandals on.

While Tegan went back to his bedroom to change, he closed up his books and headed into the bathroom to put in his contacts. He was currently clad in a black form fitting t-shirt and a pair of beige twill cargo pants. Making his way to the front foyer, Nicholas slipped on his black vans and looked over at Tegan when she joined him and spoke up. He chuckled, "You look far from homeless, love. You could be wearing a trash bag and you'd still be the prettiest thing in the room." Nicholas smiled charmingly as he opened the door for the girl and allowed her to step out into the sunlight first before he followed. He fished his keys from his pocket and turned to lock the door before jogging lightly up to Tegan and latching onto her hand. "Why don't we walk it? It's a beautiful day and the restaurant is only a few blocks up the road." He laced their fingers together as he turned his head to gaze down at the other.

Letting out a quiet chuckle, Tegan shook her head while slipping her sandals on, Nicholas was too nice to her. "You're cute." She smiled, grabbing her phone off of the counter and heading out of the house, she walked down the sidewalk and towards the car. It was bright outside so she moved her hand over her eyes to shield the bright sun beams. Lacing her fingers with Nicholas' when he grabbed her hand, Tegan sighed. "I'm from America, I'm lazy." She wined at the thought of walking to the restaurant, it was only a few blocks away though. "Fine, lets go, I want pancakes." She said, walking past his car and heading down the road. When Nicholas told Tegan she was going the wrong way down the road, she groaned and turned around, walking past his car again. "I'm already annoyed." She complained, adjusting her fingers with his hand.

Nicholas smiled as Tegan complied, although when she let go of his hand to walk down the sidewalk, he tried not to smirk and cleared his throat. "Wrong way," he called out, watching as the blonde turned around with a groan. He laughed softly at what she said next and just shook his head, lacing his fingers with hers once more. "Try not to be. This is our first date, be happy." The contentment in his deep voice was audible and he smiled warmly as he lifted Tegan's hand to place a kiss against her soft skin.

He pulled open the double-door for Tegan and followed her inside, making their way through a second set of doors before the reached the lobby where a hostess awaited them. "Table for two?" The younger woman asked. "Correct," he replied, and the other just smiled before picking up two menus and leading the way. "Follow me please." They both followed her around the maze of tables towards an empty booth by one of the windows and Nicholas sat opposite of Tegan, taking his menu from the hostess. "Your waitress will be with you shortly. Have a great day you two," she chimed, flashing a dazzling smile their way before walking off.

"Thank you, honey." Tegan smiled and walked through the first doors to enter the restaurant and held the door open as she walked through the second set of doors. Following the host around some tables, she sat down at the booth and took one of the menu's from her. "Thank you, you too." She told her with a warm smile, opening the menu and setting it down on the table in front of her. Tegan had only been to Denny's a handful of times with her friends at two in the morning because the restaurant is open twenty hour hours a day. Her parents were never into cheap restaurant even though they were Tegan's favorites. She loved cheap pizza joints and McDonald's, when ever she requested one, her mother would roll her eyes and demand they go to a five course meal restaurant. "I'm so excited, I love cheap food places." She cheered, realizing what she just said. "I'm a cheap date." She chuckled, looking up at Nicholas to see his reaction.

Nicholas was genuinely surprised at what Tegan said. "Really?" He asked, lifting his eyebrows as he opened his menu to browse through it. "I would never have guessed. Being that your parents are rich and all," he said honestly. He himself was raised in an upper class family and was always treated with the healthiest of food growing up. Sugar was cut from his diet which sucked as a child, but as he grew older, he sort of became accustomed to it. Now that he was on his own, however, he ate whatever the hell he wanted while of course maintaining a healthy diet. "My parents were always strict about my diet; I didn't have my first hamburger until I was eighteen. When I moved out." He chuckled at the idiocy of the statement.

Nodding her head when Nicholas was surprised that she liked cheap restaurants, "That braised lamb s**t? ******** disgusting. Salads with vinaigrette, terrible." Tegan stated her opinion, she hated the restaurants her mother made her family go to. Folding the menu and setting it at the edge of the table when she decided what she was going to order. "Also, the portions are never big enough, I always come home hungry." She added, her hatred for stupid fancy and expensive restaurants growing stronger. Tegan's brows furrowing when he said he hadn't tried a burger until he was 18 and moved out. "That is horrible, I'm so sorry." She apologized to him, although she wanted to finish her story so she continued. "Sometimes I want a twenty piece chicken nugget or a greasy burger to eat. ******** salads that have strawberries and oranges in it."

When the waitress showed up, Tegan decided to order first. "Can I get the grand slam slugger with scrambled eggs and chocolate chips in the pancakes and coffee with cream?" She ordered, listening to the waitress reading her order, she nodded. "Yes, thank you." She thanked and turned back to Nicholas with a smile, excited for her food to show up shortly.

"See, you don't even like salad and yet you made me scarf it down the other day," he said with a smirk, just as the waitress showed up with a notebook and pen in hand and a smile on her lips. "My name's Jennifer and I'll be your waitress today. Do you guys know what you want?" She asked, looking between the two questioningly. Nicholas just looked towards Tegan before glancing down at this menu and making up his mind on the spot. Once her order was placed it was his turn. "I will have the strawberries and cream pancake breakfast with scrambled eggs, and coffee with two milk two sugar." The male handed the woman his menu before folding his arms across the table and leaning forward a bit. "So, I wanted to ask you something," he began, sounding a bit reluctant at first, "since I moved out, my mom has made it mandatory that I visit at least once a year, and they're having a big family reunion in a couple of months. My question is, would you...maybe want to accompany me?"

Handing the menu to the waitress before she walked away from the booth, Tegan rested her chin on her fist and watched the woman walk away to get their drinks. When Nicholas told her that he needed to ask her something, she turned back to look at him, "What is it?" She asked, nodding when he spoke about that he needed to go to England to visit his family in a few months. When he asked if she would mind coming with, Tegan's brows furrowed, "Really? You're not joking?" She asked, unsure if he was lying to her or not. "Are you sure?" She added, pulling one of the coffee cups the waitress set down on the table. Taking a sip of it, Tegan swallowed the bitter drink and pushed it towards the male. "That one is yours." She said, grabbing the other cup from the edge of the table, and taking a drink with lots of creamer.

"Positive. Frankly, I think my parents would adore you," he said honestly, before thanking the waitress when she arrived with their coffees in hand. Tegan was an all around splendid young woman. She was polite, conversation-savvy, she was going somewhere in life, and she had a sense of humour. Nicholas knew his mother would approve. His father, on the other hand, was a tough man to please and didn't start enjoying Evelynn's company until the third year of them dating. The man took a drink of his coffee and tasted no sugar whatsoever, so he stole a couple of sugar packets from the side and tore them open to pour them into his coffee. "You wouldn't have to worry about the cost of the flight; my parents would have that covered. They're rather well-off, owning multiple million dollar businesses and all. So you're entirely insured," he informed with a broad smile.

Tegan was at a loss for words, she couldn't believe Nicholas was being for real about her coming to England with him. Although, she wasn't sure if his parents would actually like her, she wasn't the most spectacular person in the world. Also, she was only seventeen years old, eight years younger then him. She didn't have a job or a high school diploma, yet. She was just a few months away from graduating high school then going off to what ever University she decides on that accepted her. Her dream school is Johns Hopkins University, and honestly, she wasn't sure if she was going to make it into the school. It only had an eleven percent acceptance rate and Tegan was sure she wasn't good enough for the school. She still applied though, it was almost seven hours away from where she lived now. She wanted to go to a good university that was a decent amount of miles away from her parents and her home town, and Baltimore, Maryland, was the perfect distance. She could drive home for the holidays but it'd be too far to drive every weekend to come home.

"If you really want me to come, I'll go. But I don't want you to feel obligated because we're seeing each other." Tegan said, unsure on why he wanted her to come with him. Taking a sip of her coffee that was full of cream, she set it down on the table and wrapped her cold hands around them, her hand were always cold for some reason, and when they were warm she could actually feel them. Tegan hadn't heard much about Nicholas' family, she had no idea they own a multi million dollar business, he also didn't know a thing about his siblings. All he knew where their names. "Ya know, you haven't say much about your family. I'd like to know more before meeting them." She said with a smile, "It'd be nice to know a little about each of them."

Nicholas took a stir-stick from the side of the table and slowly began to stir his coffee in circles, lifting his gaze to look at Tegan as he did so. She mentioned his family and pointed out that he had never really told her much about them. Which was true. He preferred to avoid that topic altogether. Though, he could certainly understand why she would want to know more about them before she flew off to England with him. "Fair enough," he started, laying the stir-stick on a napkin once he was done using it. "Like I mentioned before, I have three siblings. Two sisters and a brother. My younger sister is turning twenty-two this month I believe. She's attending university to become a marine biologist." He smiled, pausing a moment to take a warm sip of his coffee.

"My older sister is currently upholding a teaching position at some prestigious university that I forget the name of. She's married with two children. Her husband is a contractor. Jensen, I think his name was," he informed, though he was honestly unsure. "And my brother..." He trailed off, sighing deeply. Nicholas didn't know where to start with that one. "His name is Wesley. He's my twin." He didn't sound very content at all. Taking another drink of his hot beverage, Nicholas glazed his tongue over his lips and decided that it was probably best to just get it all out. "And the reason he wasn't in the family portrait is because he was in prison at the time." He finally looked back up at Tegan, albeit reluctantly, choosing to pause the story there for a moment. To let the new information sink in.

Listening quietly to the male when he informed her on his family, his sisters sounded like women who had their s**t straight and life all figured out. How would they feel about their brother dating a girl who was about to graduate high school? She was graduating next month along with turning eighteen years old, she'd be legal by the time she'd meet his siblings. Either way, a seven, almost eight year difference could shock almost anyone.

Nicholas was hesitant about begging to speak about his brother, his twin to be exact. He must of forgotten to mention it last time he spoke of his family. Tegan's brows furrowed due to being surprised at the news he lightly brought up. As he brought up his brother was in prison at one point, she was taken back surprise and leaned back into the booth she sat at. Him and his siblings sounded so perfect, one sister was about to teach at a university and his other was going to school for marine biology, Nicholas has a doctorate degree! Guess the saying was true when a teacher at her school mentioned there was always at least one ******** up in the family. She was thankful it wasn't the nerdy male who offered to babysit her troubled self who has became friends with the wrong group of girls.

"Well, I'm glad you told me the truth." Tegan said, glad he didn't come up with some shitty lie. Reaching over to her cup of coffee, she took a quick sip from the mug and swallowed the hot, caffeinated drink and set it back onto the table. When the waitress walked up with her hands full of plates, Tegan moved her hands off of the table and onto her lap as she set the four plates onto the table, pancakes on two of them and the eggs, bacon, sausage, and hash browns on the other plates. Tegan thanked the waitress before she walked away from the table and grabbed the syrup and started to pour it on her pancakes.

She hoped Nicholas didn't think she thought any different of him, because of his brother and all.. She was still head over heels for the grown man, she also had no idea why he had any interest in her but she wasn't going to complain about that, she was thankful for it. "I'll trade you a piece of bacon for a piece of your sausage." She asked, holding a piece of her bacon up. Now that she had her bacon, his sausage links looked way better. Also, she begged he didn't make it into a dirty joke in a family restaurant.
