As the queen allowed for the princess to leave Surtr smirked softly as he was finally seeing Millenia returned safely. A rather interesting and yet expected end to their journey. Once she had left Surtr returned his attention to the queen the one before him as she began to study to him. "Shall I remove my coat?" He inquired playfully offering to shed a layer so that she could study him better. This was of course a mere joke. He doubted this one would be tempted or won over by something so silly and simple as a corny pick up line.

As she changed her offer Surtrs eyes seemed to brighten it was 100% obvious that his interests were piqued. "Intriguing, I accept and will happily regale you. Though I doubt you will find anything of any interest." Surtr said watching her perform her magic. His eyes seemed to light with a bright smile to accompany it, wowed by the display. After it brushed by it sent a shiver up Surtrs spine the cool air getting into his coat causing goose flesh to litter his skin. "I accept" He cheerfully blurted out raising his left palm as wisps of fire began to appear and swirl about over his palm forming a small cyclone of fire. He lifted it to his lips and blew as well. Wisps of fire scattered outward into a warm soothing cone of flame that would part and swirl around Aviendha before dissipating leaving a warm aura about the queen for a few moments. It was like a game of horse but with magic. Surtr much enjoyed it returning her gesture with his own wondering if this was what she had in mind. There was a childlike disposition about Surtr as he played this game a very pure happiness as he awaited her to make the next move to see what she would do next.

___Aviendha Cordenth___
Matriarch of Dragons

While she was indeed far from won over by something as silly as a pick up line she did still respond all the less. In Avinedha's case the response was a small smile and a light giggle of amusement. "Well if you feel you must then I wont stand in the way of comfort." She commented in a tone that over looked the flirt in his comment and focused on the joke. She watched her elemental powers stir the mages clothing and she noticed that he shivered. He seemed to be pleased by this though Aviendha was quickly showing a little bit of confusion about the idea that this was a game when she was meaning more or less to see if he would want to see her abilities demonstrated. Then again that would be exactly what was happening in their little game so she digressed.

"Find nothing of interest? Well I am sure one that spends his time collecting knowledge would have at least something worth while to share that could afford him a greater take." His return of fire to her ice made Aviendha seem to relax. More than just seem actually. Her arms dropped to her side and she closed her eyes as the heat washed over her and danced through the air around her body. She even sighed softly in a contented kind of way. "I do love the heat. Especially when in this form. So I take it you are a pyromancer, mage?" Aviendha lifted her left hand this time and upped the ante for the display this time around. There was no manifestation to hint at what was to come or anything like that this time. Instead a number of colored lights just winked into being above her hand. The first was a clear blue and grew from a speck to a sizable chunk of ice, large enough to fit no more than four in her hand. The other specs of light did the same, growing to an orb of the element which mirrored the size of its peers. An orange red one became fire second. Third a yellow one began a dancing orb of electricity which was incapable of keeping to its orbit. A fourth white orb became steam and later was swirling with both the steam and a swirling mass of water bubbles. A green spec grew to a ball of swirling gas while a purple one turned to a liquid ball that bubbled ominously. There were more specs of light, many more but Aviendha stopped there. Her hand was already quite full managing the elements she had already summoned. She shifted her gaze from them to Surtr to see what he would do next. She half expected him to already be right on top of her to examine them. She wondered how much he actually knew about a dragon's abilities.. He said that very little was known.

"So Surtr. What happens to the knowledge you gain today? If I show you all of my abilities, let you see or tell you about some of the powers we can draw upon, and let you learn of dragon biology, be it in this form or our truest form, from me. What then?" She asked.

As she giggled and smiled with amusement batting the flirt away Surtr chuckled softly. "Hmmm well not for my comfort but your own. Though I suppose my physique likely pales in comparison to that brutish husband of yours." Surtr teased playfully both complimenting and making a small joke at the king. Though she may take offense to the brutish part Surtr found it quite apt, the man displayed a great many things supporting a brute but at least the intentions were correct. As she quipped he smirked slyly, "On the contrary I was treating out exchange of knowledge a bit like a dance. Each step you take I would follow." Surtr said smirking, it was certainly odd for him to openly insinuate she was leading the dance something rarely done. It was seen as emasculating to allow a female to lead and yet here Surtr was doing just that. Most would see it as him being unworthy but for Surtr he was just so secure in his masculinity that he cared not who lead the dance only that he be a part of it.

As she inquire about his talents the Mage nodded playfully. "That is one of my talents correct. Could be my favorite I suppose." Surtr said pondering the idea a bit to see if it was true. He did a lot and it wasn't easy for him to think what he enjoyed best. As she began the next step of the dance Surtr would move closer so that he could properly inspect. He had to as each sphere of elemental ability formed Surtrs eyes would fill with more wonder. He had heard that dragons could use multiple elements but he'd only ever heard of three at the most, but this one was doubling it. He was now upon her his head lowered to the level of her palm his eyes flickering over each orb his nose smelling as each passed by. He would look like a child who could just get the top part of their head up over the counter to observe their mother making cookies. His eyes so full of wonder, amazed by this display.

"Phenomenal... so am I incorrect in assuming that the number of elements you can use is directly correlated to your age?" Surtr said shifting his gaze momentarily from the spheres of power to her. "You are beautiful by the way, and I assume a queen such as yourself wouldn't get insulted by something like age..." Surtr said eyeing the elements while saying this. He supposed it could be seen as flirting but he was more of stating objective fact. Her traits aligned with what was considered beautiful and considering the incredulously long life of dragons she would likely remain this way for quite some time.

As she inquired what would happen Surtr rose shifting his attention to her now so close that he had to look up in order to properly meet her gaze. "The insatiable curiosity that drives my every being will be momentarily satiated allowing for fleeting freedom.... " Surtr said very succinctly. His tone was slightly cheerful but his words were true, likely the truest thing he'd ever said to her. He was slave to his curiosity and followed it to no end. Even into dangerous and life threatening situations he had to. He couldn't help himself and he learned long ago that fighting only made things worse.

"If you are referring to whom I will share the knowledge with then that depends on what you tell me about the knowledge. If you say it is to only remain in my mind then it shall.... If you say it can be shared freely it will be added to our library so that any who come to Karst may read it." Surtr said looking to the woman his playful disposition fading now. A moment of sobering words were what he felt appropriate. "I may be a ...... sly lecherous mage..." Surtr said deciding to use terms others had used to describe him since they had been said many times throughout the ages. "But my word is my bond..." Surtr said his tone and gaze resolute as he spoke. If he agreed to something he always sealed and in the millennia he had lived Surtr had never broken a bond. It made his life more difficult but it was who he was.

After a small moment of silence his eyes returned to the swirling mass of elements hovering above the queens hand. "And what of you, if I divulge all my inner workings and limitations what will you do with this information?" Surtr inquired returning the question back on the queen wanting to see how she'd react. Would she try to lie? Spew diplomatic mumbo jumbo out. Or was she as genuine as she was resolute? Surtr would continue to poke and prod at her the longer they went on constantly seeking to fill in the pieces of the puzzle. Wanting to solve the problem helpless to his nature as he continued to walk deeper into the dragons den.

___Aviendha Cordenth___
Matriarch of Dragons

Aviendha's red eyes scanned over Surtr once more and she shrugged her shoulders. "You are probably right about that. However, my Indred may be a little bull headed at times but you can trust me that he isn't brutish. He is very much capable of being very gentle when the occasion calls for it." She commented softly. She hadn't taken offense to his words really. She was just making a correction. She could sense an air of confidence in Surtr that assured that he valued his manliness and Aviendha believed that Indred and Surtr likely shared in this. She wouldn't call her lover brutish but manly was definitely something she would consider calling him. More importantly the mage shed a bit of light on the exchange of knowledge and his earlier action. It made more sense why he reacted the way he did now.

It appeared by his response that she was correct that fire was a power of his. She didn't expect that he had mastery of other spells though and that fire magics was merely a favorite. Less surprising was his response to what she showed him. He came in closer to look at the elemental orbs like a moth drawn to the light. He even got so close to them she was a little concerned he would burn his moth wings on the flames creating that light. Especially when he put his nose so close to the acidic element as it orbited into his scrutiny. "Partially incorrect. It takes a long time to master an element you have affinity with. We are all born with one element. After one has lived long enough they come to fully understand it. At that point we can study others. If we master our understanding of those as well we gain a new affinity for that element and can freely use it." She explained after he asked her about it. A moment after that he commented on her looks. Her lips curled slightly into a small grin. "Thank you. I lady should take what compliments she can garner. But our age is another source of pride in our race. So you would be hard pressed to find a dragon to take insult at that. We grow stronger with age, wiser too after all that time and all the experiences that come with it." Aviendha lowered her head so her face was closer to Surtr's, her breath was refreshingly cool. "And in case you are wondering I am over 5000 years old. We count years differently than other races though. By our calendar I am 691 years old. I'm what we would call an Ancient Wyrm or an Elder."

Aviendha didn't go into any more detail about their life cycles than that. Surtr knew before hand that she was likely to be old and that dragons were a long lived race. Whether he would be surprised by just how long she had just said or not was to be seen, or if he would be surprised to learn that she could still have many more centuries to live. She allowed him to continue studying the elements she had created as they spoke back and forth. His attention rising back up from her hand. He dropped the playful disposition for a more business like one as he answered her final question. She had been considering who he would share the information with. He made a good impression by admitting some of his faults, and she could very easily see how he could be seen as a lecherous mage. Some might describe him as just being charming. Both fit really, but more importantly his promise to secrecy gained more weight for him having admitted some faults to which his word--according to him--didn't fall under.

"I would take your word for discretion. What you confide to the books and your mind may be up to you. But what you learn I would hope should not be used against my people." She didn't really know what harmful things he might learn for being allowed to study her but if there was something she didn't want it exploited. A moment of silence passed before Surtr spoke again. Aviendha let the elements over her hand wink out and she lowered her hand back to her side. "If I am to be frank then I would say I am less interested in you and more interested in the interesting things you may have learned on your travels. The kind of new found knowledge or recovered ancient knowledge that can find itself a home in our libraries as much as it can in yours. And for it I am willing to let you study just about any aspect of myself and answer nearly any question you might have about us. After all what you may gain is not really difficult to learn I would say, but not very safe under normal circumstances." After all normally for one to learn about a dragon's abilities they had to be deep fried to do it, and learning of their biology meant risking life and limb a fight with one too. Aviendha crossed her arms behind her back and shifted her gaze back towards Surtr. "So what do you want to know next?"

As she spoke about Indred Surtr couldn't hold the laugh back it burst forth from his lips as he took a step towards her. "A little bull headed?" Surtr inquired sarcastically and playfully. He was making a joke that her husband was more than just a bit. She seemed very devoted and proud of her husband. Something so effortlessly reinforced would cause Surtr to change his game. He wasn't a home wrecker.... well he was but only if the home was asking to be wrecked. One as stout as this and so well put together gave off none of those signs so he could afford to just enjoy himself and make moves for fun instead of with the intention of winning. Such a rarity for him that his smile seemed to grow a bit as if the realization that he wouldn't be getting into the queens pants made him happier.

"5000 years old you say? First being I've met older than me. Well as someone who is stronger and wiser than me I can only assume I'm playing right into your hand." Surtr uttered softly and playfully while meticulously looking Aviendha over attempting to see how she would respond to his moves. As she moved down closer to her level her breath cooling as his own would warm her. "I have only ever read about Ancient Wyrms never met one." Surtr said with a smirk as if he was now more interested than before. "I am unfortunately just a lowly mage, no grandiose title for me...." He said playfully insulting himself to confirm that despite her rank he was no where near hers.

As she requested he not use information against her he nodded softly. "I could say the same to you...." Surtr said whispering the final words as if to put more emphasis on them. The two had made a pact of sorts and Surtr would honor his. "Very well.... I have picked up some new tricks.... of an ancient discipline of my order. I actually learned one whilst watching over your daughter. It was quite a coincidence that she was in the same place as the bit of magic I sought." Surtr said with rather perplexed face as if still befuddled by how such a thing could happen. He turned and looked to her smiling as he began to walk towards her. He would move in only a few inches from her now before his smile grew. "Don't move..." He whispered before looking into her eyes like he was about to kiss her or something. He then stepped forward and passed through Aviendha slowly before stopping and walking back around so he was facing her again. "That was quite tricky to find, hidden in the far east. I actually used it on your husband in order to gain passage here... I suppose it could be considered cheating, he certainly wasn't pleased." Surtr said chuckling softly as he remembered the anger Indred let out when It occurred.

"Does you size continue with your age? Especially when in your true form?" Surtr asked while looking upon her awaiting her answer. He had shown her something and wondered if it was worthy of her returning the favor.
