I fully expect proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Personally, I type my posts up on word before I post just so I can check over my post more easily. I suggest you do something like that, too. If you don't type it up, at least proofread. Save us some time. Oh, and absolutely no text talk, chatspeak, 'l33t' speak, etc. Words and actions should be completely written out. No excuses. Also, I'm not permitting *these* for actions. You can type them out like the rest of us. I will allow them to be used in the ooc, though. *thinks that they can be fun* ; )

Use the etherpad on a regular basis! I cannot stress this enough. It is what we will use to help keep us together as a tight knit family. It helps us keep up to date on each other's situations and needs. It also allows us to plot complicated situations out to use for future use.

At least three decent, thought out paragraphs per post. This is a lazy lit- adv lit role play, and I want it to last. I appreciate quality over quantity. It's not that hard. On the same note, I don't want ten different paragraphs on how you put your cloak on. Can anyone say boring? I'm not putting a cap on how much you can type, but please, don't go overboard. One liners are not acceptable in ANY situation. I don't care how bad you have writers block. Well I do, but come on... please give us something to work with. Short posts will cause other members to have short posts too, so let's not start it at all. Please attempt to post at least 1-2 times a week as well; I understand we all have lives and things going on, just please let us all know so we aren't left wondering what is going on, or where you are. That is how role plays die and I do not wish for this to die. Also, please don't post until I tell you that you are accepted.

I'd like for your posts to be pleasing to the eye. A picture of your character, lyrics, their name, or icons are all things that I recommend. Gifs are great, however don't go overboard either. Don't let it get too messy and cluttered, though. Also, I'd like your spoken words to be bolded and coloured with quotation marks. ( ❝❞ ) and thoughts to be italicised and coloured. As far as colours go - nothing blinding. Please. Save everyone's eyes. You can fully expect a warning from me if you give us a blinding colour. If you don't remove it by the next post, you're going to get a verbal lashing from me. This won't happen often, because I'm super lenient but just stick to the rules and everything shall be fine.

Please no mary-sues or sob stories. Not everyone is an orphan who was beat by every single foster parent they ever had and has smoked weed since they were like five or something. Ever heard of when one door closes, another opens? I want COMPLEXITY, PEOPLE! I want FLAWS! NOT just people with no up side. Also, please don't use any anime for your pictures. Real people are quite easy to find if you just look. There's websites that are usually helpful. However, I don't want any canon characters i.e. Harry Potter's children etc. Don't like it, then press back and leave. The focus is on a new generation; not based around the original characters. In no way am I saying that you can't be affiliated with them etc, but please run it through with me first. Also, you have no limit on characters; however I ask that you are able to keep up with all your characters evenly. I also expect an even male/female ratio for Professors and students in each house. At this rate, it is 4 males/females per house. I shall add in extra's later if I see fit. ALSO IF YOU ARE A MAGICAL BEING (e.g Veela) I HAVE A LIMIT! IT MUST BE RELEVANT AND ACCORDING TO MYTHOLOGY! There's been problems in the past and it was horrible.

Romance is awesome. Plain and simple. You should know by now though, that Gaia is a PG-13 site. Abide by that. Oh, and don't forget, HOGWARTS IS A SCHOOL. So please, keep the clothes and the lights on. As to violence; just okay it with the person you'll be inflicting it on. For swearing - keep it toned down, or at least within the same context of how swearing would work at Hogwarts. I don't mind if you swear every so often, but not every other word, okay? There are plenty of other ways of expressing yourself. ( or rather, your character)

All reserves must be done on the application thread; likewise with profiles (linked), however they will only be approved after your reserve is. When you join I expect you to be able to keep this up and role play functioning; as I want it to be long term.

The sixth and seventh years along with Professors are now having their own parties before classes start on Monday. Younger years may sneak in or accompany older years to see what all the fun is about.
