But seriously, Spin-Offs are actually really fun.
So this is basically a sub-forum for RPs outside of the main plot. The timeline doesn't exist here, meaning you can play around with ideas you have for characters without any major consequences. All of the same rules still apply, and you can introduce your new characters, or get a chance to play with them a bit. It can be nice to do a Spin-Off especially if your character is currently stuck in a situation (like an event) where you're waiting on someone else to post.
Now here's the basic rules, these RPs do not have to be canon. But because of that, we need you to specify if they are.
(Characters can be added in the profile section even if they will only appear in Spin-Offs, this will allow you to play them in the main RP as well. Such as a character that was just born who want to RP for some reason. Please specify if they will be Spin-Off only in the profile.)
If you plan on mentioning an already existing character that is not played by you that is fine. But you must ask the player of that character before actually having that character do something.
Example as written by Beauty:
"Val slipped away from Tamlen's quarters and the palace hoping she wouldn't be caught because her lord and master would be upset with her for sneaking out at this time of night to visit with her lover. If she was caught, she didn't know what would happen, but the ice prince scared her at times and she never wanted to make him angry at her.
Tamlen had noticed Val left, but let her leave, knowing where she would be and just how long she would be gone for. He was annoyed she felt she had to sneak away, but she was still a woman and if she wanted time alone he wasn't going to take that away from her. He just wished she could come to him first and ask before she did something foolish where she could end up caught."
That second paragraph would have required my permission, considering I am the player of Tamlen. This in mind, I would not have been ok with it since Tamlen wouldn't actually care that she was sneaking about. He'd probably just want to know that she wasn't up to no good.
So you see how someone could be annoyed that their character is being played by someone else? Just ask first.
Thread titles can be whatever you want, but there are things we will require you to add to the opening post of each Spin-Off.
- All of the members invited.
*Basically, who will be playing characters and what characters will be starring. You can have more than two people RPing.
- Private or Open
*Private means that members not mentioned in the above section can not post. Open means that people can jump in only if they ask permission from others involved first.
- Plot
*Just a basic description of what you intend to do with the Spin-Off.
- Canon or Non-Canon
*Will this RP fit in to the plot or not? If it does, you must specify where. I.E. Before the beginning of the main RP, During the ball event, During a timeskip, 6 years in the future, Exc.
Canon plots may not include important supporting characters without an approved profile. If this rule confuses you, please PM me with your questions.
