Marco growled and then laughed as Chike tagged him, it seemed they were changing games. So Marco chased after Chike attempting to catch up with the silly fallen hallowed. They were a silly pair Marco and Chike and Marco was delighted by this playmate. Chike was much more fun than some of the other freshlings that Marco had meet lately. He fluttered his little bat wings as he ran, even though it didn't do anything. His tiny wings could never lift him, but they were cute anyway. Marco wondered in the back of his mind if his stone had a small amount of chimera magic in it. Marco had no idea about his eyes but it certainly made for an interesting way to look at the world.

Chike stumbled briefly, going down on his hands and knees. "Gah!" he squeaked, laughing as Marco was now close enough to bop him in return. Getting back to his feet, Chike was ready to start a war path chasing the other Freshling down, but his mother's soft voice called from the other side of the playground.
"Oh," he sighed, brushing off the front of his sweater, having only managed to run a few paces forward. "I think I might have to go soon, my Mom is making dinner tonight," Chike informed, the occasion special in their household as Aten usually cooked. The idea immediately made Chike sulk, his wings drooping. "Come on, run back?" he suggested to Marco, bouncing a few steps forward.

Marco smiled and laughed as he tagged Chike. Marco looked up to see his mom waving. "Yea it looks like my mom is waving me over too, so I have to go soon to, but it's been really great playing with you today dude." Marco said happily. "I hope we can play again sometime." Marco nodded and ran with Chike, they would play a little bit longer and then they would go back to their own homes. Marco was one of the lucky ones. Not all Hallowed children got homes as quickly as Marco had, Marco was lucky to have Cortia and Brayden had decided to take him in and love him. "I'm not sure what we're having for dinner tonight." Marco said breathlessly.

"It was fun!" Chike echoed, still smiling as he ran. As it was hard to run and talk as Marco demonstrated, he settled for concentrating on his target. The Fallen hybrid launched himself at his mother as soon as she was in range and Cassie let out a quiet oof as she caught her son in her arms. His bright wings fluttered madly behind him in a flurry of excitement.
"Can... we not have peas for dinner?" he asked his mother, earning a scoff from her. Chike laughed, looking to Marco. "Bye now," he offered, waving his hand as he was set back down on the ground. "You were a really good Vespercat."

Marco smiled and laughed as they finished up their race and stuff. Then he went to his mommy Cortia and said "Bye" cheerfully to Chike. "I had lots of fun playing Mom." Marco said happily. Taking her hand in his as they waved at the other parent freshling pair and left the park to head home. Cortia smiled at Marco happy that he had fun and called her Mom, she was really happy that he was adjusting well to being adopted not everyone did. Marco skipped along with Cortia as they headed home to Brayden. Marco didn't mind if they had peas.
