'The upper levels of the Dungeon'

Crawling though the ventilation pipes, Sora and Xai Xue moved as silently as possible. The heat from these pipes made the air thin and sweat started to form on his brow as they pushed through. I knew I should have left earlier... then maybe I wouldn't have been forced to work my way into the city through these forsaken pipes.... he thought to himself as he passed through a pocket of steam. Sora removed his scarf and wrapped his right hand in it so while he moved he could place the wrapped hand on the pipe wall without burning his hand. Last thing he wanted to do was get into a fight with a burnt hand. With his other hand, he wiped the sweat off his forehead and rubbed his eyes. He'd been walking for quiet a while and could feel himself starting to get tired the more he walked. Geez, how long are these pipes? the young genin asked himself as he continued to soldier through the heated air.

After a few more hours of walking, Sora and his companion found their way to the end of the ventilation pipes, after taking a few moments to decide on some of the splits in the pipes. He stood at the edge of the pipe, looking around in the room that he was currently about to enter. Dungeon? are you kidding me right now? he questioned to himself as he reached to his chest and scratched the top of Xai Xue's head. "Alright boy, nose on a swivel. I don't know what to expect down here so let me know of anything that you find of interest or something we should avoid." He whispered to his friend before sighing and observing the area once more to make sure that the coast was clear. Once everything looked as idea as the were going to, Sora reached down with his scarf covered hand and slowly and quiety lowered himself down from the pipe and got himself floor level. From there, he'd move slowly using what ever shadows he could find while keeping an eye out for what if anything was in the cells and around the corners. He was now in what he'd consider hostile territory and had to make sure that he wasn't caught off guard at all.

You notice to one side of the corridor stairs leading to an upper level, the chorus of voices can be heard and you can tell that an overwhelming amount of people lay above. In the other direction you notice the floor begins to slope down. Another set of stairs can be seen leading to a lower level. The corridor also happens to turn to the right, however you hear voices coming from that direction and they are approaching quickly. An open cell can be found nearby.

As Sora crept through the hallways of this dungeon, both his and Xai Xue's ears were on full alert. This entire place was giving him the creeps, and apparently it was the same for his companion as he could feel the dog shivering inside his shirt. The duo just continued to move silently forward though, looking for a way out. Eventually they would find two options, stairs leading up and down. Listening carefully, Sora could hear many people upstairs... there would be too many to try and weave through at this point. He looked over to the sloped pathway leading down and too a listen. Not many voices, but they were getting close quickly. Damn... why... he thought to himself quickly as he searched his surroundings looking for a place to hide. The only thing that caught his attention was an open cell. He hated this idea however it was the only option he had at the moment. Reluctantly Sora rushed himself inside the open cell and took ahold of his scarf, wrapping the ends in his hands. If someone came around he'd use it like a garrote wire, but he was really hoping to avoid detection at all which is why he made himself as small as possible in the darkest corner of the cell. Hopefully they were just passing by.

The voices come closer until finally they come into view. Standing before the open cell are two priestesses, they look towards the stairs leading back up and one lets out a heavy sigh. You can hear them complain about the Bishop's strange interrogation methods and their hopes that the emergency upstairs calms down soon.

As they muster up their courage to return back upstairs, one notices the open cell door and quickly closes it. The clicking sound of the lock is very audible. They turn to leave back up the stairs.

As Sora and Xai Xue hid in the shadows of the open cell, the young genin gripped the scarf tightly and kept a close watch on the direction in which the footsteps were closing in from. why does it got to be like this.... what the hell happened? He thought to himself, soon though his thoughts would be answered. From where the noise was coming from, two women approached the stairwell and paused there for a moment. One of them sighed, something Sora himself wanted to do, and then started to mention something about a bishop's strange interrogation methods. Sora didn't want to know what they were talking about, however the mention of the emergency upstairs perked his ears and attention. There wasn't much more added to the conversation though as it looked like they were going to head up stairs. One of them however turned her head to his direction, and instinctively Sora jerked his head back and hid from view once more. He heard the footsteps of this lone woman approach him even more, closer... closer... closer...

Sora's heart dropped to his stomach as he had an idea of what just happened. He waited for the footsteps to be out of range before turning his head back to view the immediate surroundings, only to see that the coast was clear. There was a problem though, as the genin moved to the barred door only to confirm his suspicions.... the cell door locked. He sighed lightly as he looked at the door and what he could see of the locking mechanisms. He shook his head slightly as he reached back into his waistband where he had hidden a long wire. With wire in hand, Sora folded one of the ends back on itself and twisted it so that he could give the wire some more strength before bending the newly formed tip of the wire ninety degrees to form a small hook. With the other end, he did the same thing however without the bend. It was very crude however the only thing he could think of after the half hour of looking at the lock was to try to pick it. Sora reached through the bars and attempted to use the improvised lock pick to try and free himself as it was the only thing he could think of without drawing attention to himself.

The door opens to your attempts to pick it however you hear someone approaching from upstairs and they're coming fast.

Using his dexterous fingers as best as he could, Sora fiddled with the lock as best as he could using the improvised tool. It definitely wasn't an easy job, but soon he heard exactly what he was hoping to hear.

Yes... He thought to himself as he retreated the wire back to his pocket before reaching to push the door open. Before he could though, Sora paused and knew he wasn't in the clear yet. Oh you've got to be kidding me.... As deftly as he could, Sora went back to his dark corner and hid. The door was barely open, enough to not lock on its own however not enough to be right noticeable unless someone came right to the door. Just like last time, Sora slowly grabbed his scarf and wrapped each end around his hand, and would use the scarf like a garrote wire if needed. He was hoping it wouldn't come to that.

A dark blur appears before your cell door. It turns to face you. All you can see is a mesh of darkness and two white orbs that you can only assume to be eyes of whatever this creature this is. One orb disappears and reappears in what oddly resembles a wink. Without any further regard the creature blurs away, heading deeper into the dungeons.

Soon you hear the sounds of marching coming from within the deeper section of the dungeon, it is heading towards you quickly as well.
