Yes they are weak! My hubby has taken a half day off work so he can watch it without worrying how he's going to get through work on 3 and half hours of sleep. I'm so excited!!!!
I would have done the same but my friends had no leave left so I will be patient and wait an extra day. c: I hope you have lots of fun!!
I'm sure we will 3nodding. We're the first out of our friends to see it, so I've got to keep spoilers to myself. I have a feeling that its not going reveal anything we don't already know...sequals rarely do...unless its the empire strikes back with the epic 'I am your father'.
The first reviews on twitter made me feel like there will be some really unexpected turns of events... I sure hope for something epic. I will not use facebook any more starting today haha
Two years ago, I saw TFA on opening day and ON THE WAY TO THE THEATRE I was browsing facebook and someone had commented "HAN SOLO DIES" under a ******** cat photo lol I almost screamed
That happened to us!!! I'm in a facebook group called the Star Wars spoiler protection where we can post everything about the movies, but if you've not seen it then turn off all notifciations. It's to save people from putting it on their status's, even stuff like 'OMG!!!'. It also means if you have seen it, you can talk about it with others. But I shall keep quiet about it on here until more have seen it.
omg that sounds like a really neat group! Is it a local one with your friends or actually a big international public one???
It's a local one as my friend runs it.

Sadly will have to wait two weeks still to see it stare

Sadly you didn't miss much. Don't worry I'm not going to spoil anything.
I enjoyed it a lot more than TFA because it was new and not just A New Hope v2.0 but as it stewed for a few hours afterward, I gotta say it wasn't that good. When you take the time to ask "was this really necessary" to certain plot points in the movie, you realize that it's 2h30m run time could have been about 45 minutes less in the grand scheme of things. If it had just been a Luke trains Rey or Rey convinces Luke to rejoin the Resistance movie, it'd been fine, but when the main "conflict" is resolved (before the last 30 minutes) the question becomes "why didn't they do that in the first place?"
There was also too much Marvel-esque humor, as in something would happen that was purposefully meant to get the audience to laugh and not necessarily appropriate. And there are SOOOOOO many plotholes and it's almost like the director saw things in TFA and was like "Nope. Didn't happen. We're not going to explore that anymore." xp

So what did people think?
I'm seeing it again tomorrow to make sure that it was as good or bad as I thought it was.
I enjoyed it. I definitely had problems with (a lot) of things in the movie, but I still had a good time watching it. I didn't like it as much as the original trilogy, The Force Awakens, or Rogue One, but it was better than the prequels by far.

Honestly. I left very disappointed. It wasn't a bad movie by no means but goddammit, so much disappointment.

Anakin's lightsaber was literally wasted on Rey because she wasn't a skywalker. stressed

I'm fine with her being a nobody even if its a little disappointing, that's the least of this movie's problem.
the film was lackluster, it felt very impersonal toward the characters, they literally spent most of the plot on one scenario and area before switching off finally. luke as a character was ruined, forced subplot relationships, i'm dead inside because of it. but it was aesthetic looking so i guess it was alright. i hated hux being a comedic relief too, what happened to the serious atmosphere they had in tfa??

I liked the movie okay, but I couldn't help but notice that
the entire remaining Resistance wouldn't fit in the Falcon if Vice Admiral Holdo had just told Poe the damn plan instead of feeling it was more important to teach him a lesson. I know Poe's arc was supposed to be learning to see the big picture and not be reckless, and Holdo is supposed to see him as untrustworthy because he sometimes ignores orders to go his own way. But he is loyal to the cause, and everybody knows that. He wasn't going to abandon ship because things were bad; there was no chance that telling him the plan would result in the First Order finding out. So basically she withheld information just for the sake of doing it, which seems like it should be more of a First Order thing than a Resistance thing.
If she told him what was going on, he wouldn't have cooked up the ill-fated plan with Finn and Rose, who wouldn't have met DJ, who then wouldn't have had the chance to sell out the Resistance to the First Order. Snoke would still be dead; Rey may or may not have been able to escape. But lots of other people would still be alive.
