Konami should chain the story writer down and make him write the plots for the rest of the series. The story of Suiko V is just that good. Can anyone imagine how the good the story would be if the current writer and Murayama got together and write the story for a Suikoden?!

Suiko 5 is 12 years before II, and thats really all I heard on the timeline.

I preordered mine, and I got the pretty art book and music CD. I was really surprised when it came in, because they'd told me at one game store it wouldn't be out till the 31st. I was resigning myself to KH 2 until it came out, and then they called me, and I about flipped in happiness.

12 years before 2 huh...Where are you playing now(Which kingdom, republic or whatever), and to we see some of the characters from suiko 1?

Suikoden 5 is suppossed to take place after Suikoden 4 and before Suikoden 1 suppossedly

The setting is the Queendom of Falena and the only returning characters from other Suikoden games I've seen/know so far are

(spoiler-highlight if ya wanna know)
Jeane, Viki, Lorelai, and Killey...oh and we can throw in Leknaat too for good measure

by the way...for those of you that have the artbook....notice the BIG typos in it?

Murayama left the staff in the middle of Suikoden 3

Yeah I know... but who knows, maybe he'll come back for the grande finale. But even if he doesn't the current writer is more than capable to finish off the series in a grand fashion.

Right now, I'm hoping Konami would make another Suikoden Tactics based on the events in Falena 8 years prior. But they should make the game like Fire Emblem instead like FFTactics. Ferid and Arshtat needs more screen time.

after 1 week of playing non-stop (since i'm on a break from work), I finally finished it. So, yeah, it's the longest suikoden i've ever played.

like i said in that other suiko V thread, it's WAY better than 3 and 4 but still could not beat 1 and 2 -- well, that's my opinion at least.

Beware the new fishing game -- it's so goddamn addictive!! and the best part is, you actually make more money with the junk you get than with the fish.

yeah, i definitely agree... they also have this slight hint that maybe Ferid and Bernadette are ---

you know, the funny thing about suikoden 4 in this series is that Lino En Kuldes sounds more like the hero of gs4 than the real hero himself, heh.

i loved tactics also and it really does need a sequel
