Deep in the jagged peaks of the ---- mountain range thrives the order of the
Fade, a small yet wealthy kingdom made up of multiple species living
together equally. Though this may seem to mark it as a 'peaceful' area, and
compared to the other biased cities of this world it is easy to make that
misconception, in truth the people here have found another way to direct
their less-friendly attentions. Outsiders. Many have tried to invade and
subdue this little jewel, in response the people of the Fade have learned to
use the treacherous mountains to their advantage like a deadly cocoon of
stone and mist. Sudden drops are common on the seemingly stable paths,
made so much more dangerous by the thick 'Fading Mists' that coil through
the air at all times. Anyone that travels too close find only cliffs and traps
meant to eliminate and detour them.
Few would guess but most of this Kingdom is actually built into the
mountains much like a semi-submerged dwarven city would be, large valleys
serving as farmland while the network of well crafted and maintained tunnels
in the stone offer safe passage to any locals trying to travel the kingdom.
Obviously the doors to the outside are cleverly hidden, leaving strangers to
the mercy of the mountain peaks. The Lady Sinclaire, the ruling 'Minister' at
this time (as shown to the right), is the figure in power and will serve as a
NPC piloted only when needed by a VC or higher.
Now, one might ask how such a shrewish society might influence the story. It
is a tradition that young adults, typically Knights of either gender, are sent out
into the world to finish their training and expand their knowledge of those
outside. After all.. the best way to defend oneself from enemies is to know
their tricks and battle tactics. After a few years, once the individual has filled
themselves with information and experience, they return to their home in the
Fade.. often hauling a spouse and children with them in the process.
The only people from this faction may be Warriors for now, as
they are the only ones able to roam outside the Fade's safety.
Any area-threads that have the 【☪】 symbol in their names will be
considered Fade Friendly Territory, in one way or another.
