Beacon Academy's Cliffside is the are in which most aerial or water-based vessels dock at. There are two docking bays here, one at the top of the cliffside and another at the bottom of it. There is a large, spiraling tunnel system that leads from the water vessels' docking area to Beacon Academy, while the air vessels have a clear walk to the academy from where they land.

━━━━━━━━━ ஐ ━━━━━━━━━━━━ ━ ♡ ━ I wanna tell you that you're all that ever mattered. Want you to know that, for eternity, I'm shattered. I tried so hard just to protect you, but I failed to. And in a prison of abandonment I've jailed you! Now it's time to say goodbye! To the things we loved, And the innocence of youth. How the time seemed to fly. From our carefree lives, And the solitude and peace we always knew.
... Beacon. Quinn looked over the place as if it were a mark on the side of her face. She had put off coming here, as if it hurt to see it. The wind blew over her face, blowing blonde hair across her cheek and forcing her red hood and cape to flap lightly. Quinn then took in a deep breath as she watched the aircraft behind her fly away from over her shoulder. As the air around her calmed and silence sunk in, she took a moment to think to herself. She wished she had been here... life would be so different. A student of Beacon. Sounds better to her than having once been a student of Haven 10 years ago. Vale had been her home now for a couple of years, ever since the man who murdered her teammates escaped imprisonment in Atlas. And here she was... back on her rare visit to Beacon Academy, wishing she had been here, wishing her life was different. Wishing they were still alive. Quinn huffed and looked from left to right, the place was empty. Ahead of her she could see the long an open pathway into the academy, a rather majestic and welcoming approach if she had to admit. It was the middle of the day, the day after students were arriving - she made sure to dodge that crowd. "Ah" she said, parting her lips, "initiation day."
Quinn pulled out her scroll and opened it, flicking through irreverent information until finally coming across an observer. "Let's see what you're throwing at them this time, Ozpin" Quin said, expanding with a reverse pinch of her thumb and finger to tune into the broadcast coming from Emerald Forest. When the feed began she saw the temple located at some distance from the cliff side she had witnessed tossed from a few times before. She saw several students taking a few minutes to choose and grab relics, she couldn't help but notice they were chess pieces. "How original" Quinn thought openly. She saw a few girls in red, a small gir- boy? With pink hair, fabulous. A few guys with black hair too, a guy in blue who looked like a Knight from Atlas, and then she saw a girl in dark armour, a cape and with wings in her hair. "Valkyrie..." she murmured without really meaning too. With a low voice, she whispered "I never expected a Hildrharr to not attend Atlas. But there's no mistaking it..." she could tell by the signature winged headpiece and her grey hair. Well, nothing else exciting happening. Quinn pushed the sides of her scroll together, closing it and returning it to her pocket. She looked over the area before she started walking down the main walkway. Each step created an audible knock as her heels landed, and her Ring Blade, tightened into half it's normally circumference, tapped lightly on her back.
She really hoped she didn't walk into anyone on her way to Ozpin's office, not that there's any point in heading up there now, he's gonna be at the forest. And no way was Quinn going to head there. She sighed, she guessed she'd risk a slow walk and enjoy the scene. Perhaps she could pretend, in her head, she was a new student, pretend to experience this view for the first time.
My heart is broken... Sweet sleep, my dark angel.
When doors are locked, I'm gonna get you. You are not safe, not any place, not anywhere. I'm coming to get you, yeah, I'm coming to get you. I have a surprise for you, beware, beware!

spaceAfter her speech at the Beacon commencement, Yang hung around campus for a while and talked to some of the students. She also had a talk with Glynda and Ozpin in the man's office. They mentioned that she would be getting her mentor orders once the students completed their team-building test. They also told her that Quinn Nathairdear was coming to speak with them. After more short conversation, Yang left the office and went to the teacher's quarters, retiring to her room for the night. It was weird being back in Beacon. Even though she came back to mentor and teach every few years, it was still odd coming back to her old stomping grounds. The fact that she knew which places were replaced from the Battle for Beacon weighed heavily on her as well. Those negative feelings mixed in with her endearing ones as she looked at the fresh faces of students made for a strange combination. Eventually, her thoughts lulled her to sleep. She dreamed of gunpowder, fireflies, and a red sky, loud laughter from her sister, and hushed, hurried conversations from voices she didn't understand. She woke in a cold sweat, her dreams fading away as she simultaneously tried to understand them.
spaceSome hours later Yang strolled around campus, emptier than it was yesterday. All the first years were gone and doing their initiation. She spoke to a few of the students she recognized, commenting on how much they'd grown since the prior year, as she slowly made her way to the cliffside. She wanted to get there when the ceremony started but she woke up too late. Oh well, not like it mattered. She figured only about half of the first years had their relics by now. The blonde woman stopped in the cafeteria and grabbed something to eat as she continued her stroll, eating as she walked, tossing her trash as she finished. The walk to the cliffside was rather leisurely the further she got from campus. Her mind wandered to her first year at Beacon. A smile graced her face as the memories came flooding in. They were so light. All the laughter, the jokes, the bonds... the losses, the trails, the fights. Her gaze fell to her bionic arm. She flexed the hand and watched at the components communicated with each other to perform the task. After all these years, it was easier for her to cope with. But even now she was still almost scared of it. Or, was she scared of losing this one too? Clearly it could be replaced, but... it really couldn't be, could it?
spaceEveryone had come together to help Yang back then. Be it through training or kind words and advice. A sigh heaved from her chest, 'Don't think about that now.' She told herself harshly. Anytime she tried to think of her good memories, they were clouded in the bad. It was almost disheartening that that happened, even after all this time. Maybe she would talk to Qrow about it; he certainly had his fair share of bad memories to deal with. How did he do it? As Yang approached the cliffside, she noticed someone else standing there, watching the forest curiously. 'Is that Quinn? I haven't seen her in a few years, but there's no mistaking it. Oz did say she was coming to see him.' The blonde watched as Quinn started down the main walkway, her heels clacking with every step. Heels always sounded so powerful to Yang, like they yielded importance.
space"Quinn! Hey there, been a while, huh?" Yang's voice carried a song-like quality as moved to catch up with the other woman. She smiled up at Quinn as she started walking beside her, matching the other's even pace, "You're looking well! What bring you out here? Trying to teach these first years how a real fight goes?" Yang was the type to easily insert herself into any situation. Some might consider it rude, but it came in handy sometimes, but it was something she didn't really notice herself. Her social habits came naturally. The young woman was simply good at knowing people, even if they didn't necessarily want to be known. The blonde walked with her hands on her hips, setting her gaze forward now, awaiting the other's response.

Quinn was still slow walking down the walkway, watching as the academy grew closer and closer, getting taller and wider as she approached. She had always admired the pristine image Beacon had. Haven always had too much foliage, too much colour. She looked down to watch her feet tackle the floor with each step, or was it more of a jab, or a stab? She liked the sound of her heeled boots, it made her feel less approachable, that's how she liked it. But as Quinn looked up she noticed a familiar face. Yang?, Quinn thought, squinting almost. There was no denying it, all that golden hair, that stylist biker look no matter what casual get up she tried to wear. Quinn parted her lips as a small amount of breath escaped her. She had been noticed.
Yang approached her, quickly twirling and changing her pace to join Quinn in her slow pursuit of Ozpin's office. The fiery blonde then chimed in, her voice alive and almost bouncy as ever. "Yang." Quinn said, turning her head to look back at her. Quinn often felt conflicted with how to act around Team RWBY. They were well-known these days, they defeated un-imaginable odds. Not to mention, Yang is somewhat older than herself. "Sure has" Quinn replied, her voice smooth like velvet, but strong. She continued to walk at the same pace as Yang continued, having admired how Quinn looks. Quinn instictively brought her arm up and tugged down her hood, and with the other she got beneath her head to fluff it all out properly, letting the air brushing past her keep it behind her shoulders. "Thank you" she said slowly, passing a glance to her fellow blonde. But Quinn stopped whatever she was about to reply with when she heard Yang mention teaching. "I doubt these kids would survive a real fight" Quinn replied, "could you imagine me teaching? Uh, no. Too many questions, too much energy. Glynda can keep that job. I'm just... here for the usual" Quinn sighed. Here to find out where the murderer might be she though, but instead she said "thought it was about time I give this place a visit, give Oz the round-up of my travels." It was no secret what had happened to Quinn shortly after graduating Haven. It wasn't everyday a Team collapses, and one of it's members kills two others and gets locked up for insanity. Quinn's had a vendetta ever since. It's made her difficult to talk to sometimes too, especially since 2 years ago when Lyric escaped Atlas. She locked herself away so well that she often came across rude or disinterested. Because of this, she often got along better with Glynda these days, who was a no-mess no-trouble kind of woman. Yang was... refreshing company, she hadn't spoken to her since before Lyric escaped and feared Yang might notice the change in her personality. When Lyric was locked up, she as angry, but she was about to live her life thinking some kind of justice had been served. Now, though, he was alive and free. "The first years look interesting this year" Quinn then said, pulling out her Scroll again to view the initiation in the Emerald Forest. "There's a Knight from Atlas by the looks of things, and a Hildrharr. Not to mention an heiress."
((OoC - I know i said i won't post til tomorrow but i couldn't resist xD P.s sorry if Quinn seems a bit boring to talk to, her mind's very distracted these days. She's trying her best not to just roll her eyes. xD))

spaceQuinn was always such a quiet one, almost like Blake, but a little more intense if that was believable. Yang let out a chuckle, though, when Quinn threw out the kids' fighting skills. The other woman wasn't necessarily wrong, but others probably thought the same of them when they were first years. Inexperienced. Slow. Brash. While some of that held water, Yang thought at least team RWBY proved themselves time and again. Now... well, now, they were more than capable, but it did take a lot of work and a lot of growth. The blonde smiled wide and chuckled again, linking her hands behind her head as they continued their stroll, "Yeah, probably should have thought about that one. I don't think I could see you standing behind a podium lecturing," she teased lightly, "I don't know how Glynda has done it for this long. I can only take sticking around for a few months. I like being out in the action too much." The older woman mused, letting her thoughts get away from her. Even though it was stressful sometimes, dealing with students acting how she used to, Yang held a sense of accomplishment in helping the school every few years.
spaceWhen Quinn mentioned meeting with Ozpin, Yang nodded knowingly. Anyone going to see Oz wasn't ever going for a simple visit, "Yeah, Ozpin did mention you were dropping by. Didn't mention why, but I guess any day's as good as any for a drop in, huh?" Yang cast a friendly smile over to the other woman. She knew that Quinn had been through some troubling times; not everyone had the team dynamic RWBY had. The news from Atlas was hard to suppress, especially in the Huntsmen world, but Yang never tried to bring it up around Quinn. It was undoubtedly a hard subject to think of, let alone talk about, and Yang didn't want to cause any stress for the other Huntress. Despite the other's frequent silence and speaking only when deemed necessary, Yang liked Quinn. At least she was honest. That was a rare trait, even in this day and age. Maybe even especially. Though, Quinn did seem more solemn than before. There was an edge to her voice that was missing. When Quinn produced her scroll and mentioned the first years, Yang let out a little hm? and peered at the handheld screen.
space"A knight? I didn't think they were still around. Makes sense it would be an Atlas thing, though." Yang's eyes scanned the faces and names of the first years. She recognized some of them from the crowd she spoke to yesterday. Among the initiates, Yang saw Elliot Vermilion, her would-be little brother. She silently wondered how he was doing as the screen flashed images of different parts of the forest, "Oh, stop there! Looks like Elliot is with the Hildrharr." Yang rubbed her chin briefly in intrigue. Elliot had certainly come a far way from the first time they met. She smiled at Quinn again, "Man, it feels just like yesterday I was in those woods, fighting to Ursa and looking for Ruby." It was true. Time moved so quickly. The blonde looked over her shoulder thoughtfully at the Emerald Forest, slowly disappearing behind them as they made their way to Ozpin's office. Yang wouldn't follow her all the way there, unless asked, but at the same time, she wanted to at least catch up with Quinn. She was easy to be around, and Yang appreciated the calmness of her demeanor among the many excitable youngsters stalking the campus grounds.

And in a prison of abandonment I've jailed you! Now it's time to say goodbye! To the things we loved, And the innocence of youth. How the time seemed to fly. From our carefree lives, And the solitude and peace we always knew.
Yang... as noisy, annoying, or even talkative as she was. She was still thoughtful. It was no secret to other huntress or huntsmen that Lyric, who now went by the name Xylo, escaped Atlas. It was no secret to anyone close to Oz that he murdered half of Team HLQN, too. It's been more than just a few years since that travesty. It spread across Mistral like wildfire. Quinn could tell there was this... unspoken knowledge between them. But luckily this old news didn't make things tense, it just helped Quinn pretend no one was actually thinking about it. At yang's teasing about lecturing, Quinn cheaply exhaled. "The field is where we belong" Quinn then replied, crossing a glance with Yang as she went on to speak about Oz.
Quinn was very conscious of the way Yang moved, it was a powerful strut, but with boots, the kind that didn't make as much noise as Quinn's. Yang carried a presence about her that people starred at, confidence and beauty. Quinn liked to think she carried a similar presence, one of intimidation and mystery. Yang's smile seemed to kindle something inside Quinn though, she felt it in her chest, a kind of yearning for the past. A small smile broke out from the edge of her lips, and she nodded. "Yeah" Quinn simply replied, looking ahead, silently thanking Yang for her careful choice of words. It was almost as if problems didn't exist - but that was what Quinn had a hard time dealing with. She couldn't just forget, or pretend, she always had a nagging, gnawing feeling in the back of her head. That's why she stuck alone, no one could get in the way.
As they peered into the screen, Yang contributed her thoughts. Together they stared and Yang expressed her surprise at seeing a knight. "That's what I thought" Quinn replied about the knight, looking over the gentleman. He seemed... well mannered. As for Yang's sudden interest in Elliot and the Hildrharr, Quinn could only think about the dynamic. One was a little unruly and rash, just like Yang back in the day. The other was strictly trained, perhaps more similarly to Weiss from what she's heard and learned from getting to know Team RWBY over the years. "They really like to throw you into the deep end, over here" Quinn said, still peering into the scroll. "The placement is so random. Any one of you could be pitted with your worst enemy - and you're stuck with them for at least three years." That was when Quinn looked up, and noticed Yang peering back towards where the Emerald Forest is. Quinn looked back too, stopping on the spot with Yang to admire the view. "It's a beautiful academy... filled with so much hope" Quinn said, not really thinking, or smiling at all, just lost in thought and speaking aloud. "So" Quinn added, her eyes coming back to Yang, blinking a few times before she continued, "I see you're arm is still treating you well. It looks good after all this time." Quinn admired the golden shine, it was truly a piece of treasure and state of the art technology. "I... actually upgraded my Ring Blade not so long ago. I think Ruby would like it."
(so, i've been thinking, we could head towards Qrow and Lyon, though it would be after a few more posts here and catching up, of coarse. Might be fun for Yang to see Qrow causing some trouble lmao)

spaceQuinn was always somewhat of a mystery to Yang, besides what parts of her life were put on blast for the public eye. That was another thing the blonde understood, though. During the Vytal Festival all those years ago, falsehoods about her were made public to the entire world, images of her breaking Mercury's leg filling every screen. It certainly wasn't to the same extreme that Quinn suffered. Still, though, Yang knew when discretion was necessary. When the other woman smiled back at Yang, her heart fluttered a little bit, and her own smile grew wider. It wasn't often Yang got to see Quinn smile. It was especially rare seeing that Ozpin was her end goal. For however much Quinn had been through, she never stopped fighting. It was impressive and Yang respected that. Honestly, Yang felt a bit of a connection with Quinn. They shared some similarities in how they carried themselves, had strong personalities, and knew what they were capable of.
spaceYang looked on at the screen and laughed when she watched Elliot barely grab onto the giant tower, "That kid... these first years sure are something." The young boy was adopted by Glynda after the tragic death of his mother, whom of which Yang discovered dead. Subsequently, Yang convinced Goodwitch to let Taiyang train the young boy. She put in her own two cents here and there, and even ended up giving the boy her useless Ember Celica to revamp. She chuckled over Quinn's observation, "Yeah, it really is up to chance, huh? Ozpin's probably trying to make some point. Overcoming your own feelings and grudges to be a better Huntsman, blah blah blah," she did a short impression of him along with her explanation, shaking her head and laughing a little more at the thought. She couldn't imagine not being on a team with Ruby, Weiss, or Blake. What if she'd been paired with Jaune, or Pyrrah? Honestly, she didn't like thinking about it, so she put her focus back on the forest behind them. The pair stopped to admire the Emerald Forest for a breath, a comfortable silence temporarily settling over them. A faraway smile was etched on her face. Quinn spoke of the academy being beautiful, filled with hope. Yang agreed to a point, but she wouldn't voice her halfway disagreement. Beacon was a wonderful place. That couldn't be argued. But, there were a lot of negative memories that came along with that beauty. It was an earned beauty.
space"So," Quinn's short interjection brought Yang's attention back to her, eyes locking with the other woman's as she continued with what she wanted to say. At the mention of her arm looking well, Yang gave a little grin and held it up in the air, "Well, I appreciate that. I try to take care of it. Still, after all these years, it feels weird only having one Ember Celica. But, I've got to say, it sure comes in handy." She grinned over her own joke, closing and opening the fist of her robotic arm before letting it relax at her side. When Quinn modestly mentioned upgrading her ring blade, Yang gave her an interested look, "Oh yeah? I'd be interested in seeing that bad boy! Ruby would be around this year, but I haven't seen her yet, come to think of it." The sisters hadn't gotten a chance to contact one another yet. They were always playing phone tag, missing each others calls and never getting in touch. The pair began their walk to Ozpin's office again, their conversation continuing along with them.

And in a prison of abandonment I've jailed you! Now it's time to say goodbye! To the things we loved, And the innocence of youth. How the time seemed to fly. From our carefree lives, And the solitude and peace we always knew.
The moment Yang began speaking fondly about her arm and Ember Celica, Quinn should've known exactly what was going to come. As soon as Yang's tone changed ever so slightly she knew it was coming, and when she gave the punch-line... Quinn rolled her eyes. ((Okay im dying on the inside the cringe is fantastic but Quinn doesn't approve xD)) She actually thinks she's funny Quinn thought to herself, thinking how ridiculous Yang sounds when she tries to make funny puns. How was this chick older than her? Quinn just had to accept the fact she was a lot more mature and stubborn than most other people she came across these days. However, her topic of discussion moving onto her blade was a good idea. At yang's excitement to see it, she couldn't help but look over her shoulder, where she could see the edge of it's smaller ring form, it was compacted to stretch from each shoulder-blade. It grows to 3 time's the size when it's ready for battle. "I see" Quinn replied, continuing to walk on with Yang, her steps hitting the floor a lot sharper than Yang's boots. Quinn then replaced her Scroll, crossing her arms in the process as she said "It would appear a lot of you are back to mentor this year. I'd say that's sheer coincidence, or perhaps Oz has something to do about it. I realised my choice to return was a mistake as soon as I saw Nora Valkyrie in town yesterday. A single mission with her a few years back was enough for one lifetime."
The two of them continued to converse along the main walkway for a few more minutes. The academy grew closer to them, growing taller the closer they got, forcing Quinn to subconsciously take in a breath as she glanced up at the tower, where Ozpin's office resides. That was when Quinn began hearing clashing sounds, amongst other large noises coming from not far away. At first she wasn't sure if it were her heels digging into the pavement, forcing her to stop talking and freeze in place. Her face tilted, as if giving her ear a better direction of hearing. "Do you hear that?" Quinn asked Yang, crossing her eyes over to the fiery blonde. A fight, here?! Surely students weren't sparring in the school streets. Quinn thought, looking further down the walkway. Without much more of a word, Quinn began sprinting. So used to working alone she didn't even tell Yang she was going she just went for it. But as she got closer the main avenue came into view, and not too far away she could see the distinct outline of two people. But when her worry and doubt subsided, it was replaced by confusion. As Quinn came to a sudden stop, disbelief on her face, her hood dropped down to rest on her shoulders, revealing her locks of blonde hair, a bang falling to almost cover one eye. As Yang approached too, Quinn said "Is that... you're-"
She wanted to say uncle. And by now, she let out a great sigh. Of coarse Qrow was causing a fight out here, what a mess of a man. And who was he fighting? From this distance she couldn't tell at all, but she could definitely see Qrow's symbolic sword and fighting style.
((I'll do my next post in the main avenue ^_^ though, i guess with Yang's reaction, it might make more sense for your reply to be in Main Avenue? idk razz ))
