Brian stepped off the plane and onto the shore at Melemele Island, smiling as he took in his first sight of the Alola region. The shores were bustling with people and Pokemon alike, and he could see many different Pokemon that he'd never seen before. He stepped away from the plane and further onto the shore, looking at Blaze, his Chimchar, and Lilly, his Purrloin, who were sitting on his shoulder and head, respectively. "So what d'ye think, ye two?" he asked. "How many new friends d'ye think we'll make?"

As he walked further from the plane, he looked around, taking in his new surroundings and wondering if there were gyms here. He wanted to become a Pokemon Master, and the best way to do that was to visit all the regions and defeat every Pokemon League. Although he'd been born and started his journey in the Sinnoh region, he didn't challenge any of the gyms, wanting to create a strong bond with his Pokemon before trying out for the Sinnoh League. Blaze had been with him through it all, and Lilly had joined his team not long after he'd begun his journey. Although the Purrloin hadn't trusted him or Blaze at first, he'd been patient with her and eventually gained her trust, and now she was one of his most loyal companions. He smiled as he scratched her ears gently, rubbing Blaze's head as he did so. "We're going to make lots of new friends here, I can feel it," he told them, walking further from the shore and toward the town.

Brian smiled when he heard Lilly purring as he scratched her ears, then nuzzled his cheek. He knew the Purrloin loved his attention, and didn't always like sharing his attention with anyone else. A moment later, she jumped from his head and started walking away from him, and from the way she was acting, she'd caught a scent. He heard something from a short distance away and turned to see what it was, and when he looked back, Lilly had disappeared.

Being in a new place, he was worried she would get lost, and he quickly let Lightwing out. "Find Lilly, will ye, Lightwing?" he asked. The Starly nodded and took off, flying over the town in search of the Purrloin. He found her sitting in front of a sweets shop, and he quickly returned to Brian and led him to Lilly. "Thanks, Lightwing, return," Brian said, recalling the flying-type. "Lilly, try to stick close to me, alright? We're in a strange place, and any of us could easily get lost."
