Biography
Marceline was born to a mid level crime family in Gotham City. Marceline looked up to the villains of the streets, rather than the heroes. She admired their tenacity and confidence in the face of who she saw as the oppressive law. Growing up she always wanted to be one of them, to help her family by being their masked defender. As a child she displayed an impressive intellect, especially when it came to science and invention. Her aptitude for invention impressed her parents enough to invest in her scientific future. To promote their daughter's interests, they helped fund her science lab and funneled money into a trust fund for her future endeavors.
Since she was kept as a recluse away from most other people, she passed her time and entertained herself but conducting experiments. Throughout the time she would have spent in middle school, she advanced her studies, creating experimental weaponry and gadgets. By the time she reached high school age she was so used to being alone that when she was told by Jeremiah, her personal caretaker, that she would actually be attending school it was a complete system shock. New to social situations, Marceline was quickly ostracized in her school, often being mocked and teased by her peers for her crippling inability to speak in public. Whenever she did make friends, it was generally for her money or for her smarts. It didn't take long for her to get tired of high school, becoming something of a social outcast. Upon graduation she retreated back to her lab. During this time she advanced her study of weaponry and technology, creating a device capable of creating effects similar to zero-point energy that she dubbed Aether Tech.
About a year after her graduation, she was informed by Jeremiah that her parents had been captured by corrupt police under the employ of a rival mob family. Jeremiah informed her that her parent's gang was working on recovering them, but she shouldn't worry. Despite this, Marcy decided to take it upon herself to try and rescue her parents. Seeing this as the opportunity to put her dream of super-villainy to the test, she tried to go out and liberate her parents. This was quickly met with her being far too terrified, not of the danger, but of appearing in public and facing people. Before she could be injured, she was saved by Jeremiah, who was leading a small group of the gang members in a mission to find her parents. Ashamed of her failure, Marceline sought to come up with a way to fix her public speaking problems and be seen as a viable member of the criminal under-world. With the weapons and equipment she and her family had acquired through their investments and theft, she set to work reworking her super villain identity.
Taking note of not just super villains, but other heroes, she redesigned her super-villain attire. Combining her best technological inventions and experimenting with the idea that covering her face would eliminate her anxiety in public. Her first test was finding her parents while working under the guise of hired muscle for Jeremiah and the mob family. After locating her parents, she found that they had been killed in a skirmish between vigilantes and the gang in an attempt to escape. Deciding that the so called heroes were to blame, she continued to act as super-villain protection for criminals. Her primary client being Jeremiah and the family now under his control.

[Weapon information]
○ Black Witch Armor: In lieu of any metahuman powers, Marceline uses an advanced, state of the art, all-purpose combat suit she invented and designed in the likeness of a Black Witch Moth. The suit has slight armoring and allows her a wide range of options to use in combat.
->Enhanced Strength: The suit grants enhances her physical capabilities, granting her a small degree of super strength. While wearing the armor, she is capable of lifting 1 ton.
->Enhanced Endurance: The suit is resistant to bullets, blades and blunt force trauma. The suit can resist bullets from small caliber guns at point blank range, but offers limited protection from more powerful weapons such as assault rifles. As for physical assaults, the suit can resist blows equal to what she can put out and is cut resistant.
->Propulsion Boots and Wings: Her suit has thruster boots that use an experimental propulsion technology of her own design to give her lift. The lift is brief and can only allow her to hover for short periods of time. The wings are made of a durable, smart material that stiffens to allow her to glide, but also acts as a cape. The two devices combined allow her to fly for short distances.
->HUD: The helmet of the armor gives her slightly enhanced senses, granting her an improved view of her surroundings. The helmet enhances her senses, provides her with binocular, microscopic, thermal and night vision, and includes a voice modulator.
->Gauntlets: Each gauntlet's sections can contain a wide array of equipment, such as sonic or smoke pellets, knockout gas capsules and throwing tracers. The right gauntlet is also equipped with a 100,000-volt stun gun. The left gauntlets serves as a weak charging station for her staff. Should the staff be depleted of energy before she has the opportunity to take it back to the charging station, the reserve power in the gauntlet is sufficient to power it for an hour. Each gauntlet is also fitted with a devise that allows her to recall the Witch Scepter to her hand with enough force to snatch it from a person's hand, but only works from the same room.
○ Witch Scepter: Using technology similar to zero-point energy, dubbed Aether Tech, the staff can perform a variety of functions. The weapon was redesigned in her discovery phase to more resemble a witch's staff to fit with the Black Witch motif. With that in mind, she focused on making the capabilities of the staff resemble magic. The staff is equipped with defensive capabilities, and is considered her finest work to such an extent that she has difficulty replicating it. These functions are power draining and the staff needs to be recharged daily. At full charge, the staff can perform all of its functions for 20 hours, only needing 4 hours at its charging station to become completely charged again.
->Concussion Blasts: The staff can fire bolts of concussive energy, similar to the blasts used to propel her from her boots. The blasts are powerful enough to destroy heavy wooden doors, smash through windshields or dent steel.
->Energy Absorption/Redirection: Aside from the concussive blasts, the staff itself is incapable of producing energy blasts. However, it is equipped with the ability to absorb other types of energy, store them briefly and fire them from the staff. With this ability she can harness the electricity from a room and redirect it as a blast at targets, take in a nearby fire and project it as a flame thrower and other similar feats. The staff can be overloaded with energy and if she takes in too much, such as attempting to absorb all of the power in a large building at once or something similar, the Scepter will short out. In such an event, the staff will need to be rebooted.
->Levitation: The staff can emulate levitation. By pointing at an object or person, she can project an energy field around them allowing her to move them as if they weighed nothing. The staff and the helmet are linked, allowing her to lock on to multiple objects with the helmet and levitate them using the staff. Objects lifted with the staff can then be thrown with significant force, the damage of the objects depending on the size.
->Defensive/Reflective Field: She can project an energy field that negates the force of what's coming towards her. She can project a field that stops a bullet's momentum, trapping them in space and rendering them harmless. After stopping a flying object, she is capable of throwing the object back, at a vastly reduced speed in the case of bullets and objects of similar velocity, towards where they came from. This extends to projecting a defensive wall against between her and assailants. The field is powerful enough for protect her from explosions, though defending against too many will rapidly reduce the charge for the day.
