I'm glad to see they're staying alive and are adapting
Not entirely sure if it'll effect their sound or style at all, but hopefully Eluveitie 2.0 is still solid

What are your thoughts?

I liked Eluveitie as they were. I'd need to hear new music from them before I can make any judgement.

On August 3, 2015, the band announced the departure of violinist Nicole Ansperger because her family situation, as she described, "...makes it impossible for me to be on the road with my band constantly." Israeli violinist Shir-Ran Yinon joined the group on tour as her replacement, having been selected through an open audition to which she had submitted a video.

On 5 May 2016, Merlin Sutter, Anna Murphy and Ivo Henzi simultaneously departed Eluveitie. Statements from both the band and the three musicians indicated that Sutter had been ejected from the group, with Murphy and Henzi choosing to leave after his departure. The three indicated that they would begin to produce new music together, while still fulfilling touring commitments with Eluveitie until their last scheduled shows in June. At the same time, Yinon (who had never been inducted as a full member of Eluveitie) indicated that she would depart later in the summer when her contract expired.

In September 2016, Eluveitie announced on Facebook that they started working on the second part of Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion. The album wasn't officially announced until a year later. The new album will come out in the Spring of 2017. The album will be presented as Evocation II: Visions.

With this being said, I'm highly skeptical of such severe lineup changes when it comes to any metal band. They shouldn't be calling themselves Eluveitie.

Excited and slightly hopeful. Been following their facebook updates.
Lineup looks okay, but can't tell for sure until they have more shows under their belt.

If you look at Cellar Darling it looks like Anna and the boys didn't particularly want to go along with the whole Eluveitie sound anyway, and Chrigel is the heart of the band as it is. One thing I'm worried about is that Anna's voice is pretty distinctive; hope the new vocalist does that justice.

Guess we'll have to wait and see.
