Personality: Mahogany Obsidian is like the volcanoes from which her gem is born. She can seem calm and reserved, but the fury she holds down can erupt at any time. She can be extremely stubborn and difficult to deal with. She may seem rude and impatient, but if she's not trying to kill you, then her patience has not run out. She hates wasting energy and time and avoids situations and Gems she see as such. She enjoys fighting, but only wants to fight those who will pose a challenge. If she ever loses control, or chooses to release her rage, she becomes like a beserker, attacking friend and foe furiously until she is poofed or her energy levels decrease. Her biggest struggle is maintaining control until the time is appropriate.
She despises the use of strength and power to attack the weak. As such, she will refuse to fight or attack those she sees as too weak to defend themselves from her and will often step in if she sees someone else doing so.
Underneath all of her confidence is a gem that secretly despises herself for what she sees herself as. As a result of the "Avox Incident" she feels extreme guilt and sees herself as a monster, a danger to others and keeping her fury under control is her way of refusing to be the monster she believes she is. This is why if she truly begins to care for someone, she will often stay away from them. In certain circumstances this aspect of her may rise to the surface.
Alignment: Mahogany Obsidian is a loose cannon, like the magma she was born from, she is difficult to control and does as she pleases. She serves those she either deems worthy or can offer her something of value. If she decides that helping you is a waste, she will leave. Gaining her true loyalty is very difficult, but if one does, she is one of the most loyal Gems.

Magma Manipulation
Being born from magma, Mahogany Obsidian is one with it and can manipulate and shape nearby magma to her will. This includes forming constructs from magma, such as weapons, barriers, and even magma representations of herself or others. These magma dopplegangers can fight alongside her, though they are dependent on her for guidance. She can fly by creating magma wings. When she is submerged in magma, her form merges with it, rendering her invisible in magma, with the exception of her gem. In this state, she can create a larger body for herself with the magma. She constantly maintains a personal supply of magma within her form.
Inner Flame
Mahogany Obsidian's inner fury is represented physically as heat. In her calm state, she radiates less heat, but when she is angry or furious, her body begins to radiate heat proportional to the level of her anger. She can transfer this heat to anything she touches. This power is often used to melt rock near her to create more magma. She can also absorb excess heat from her environment or objects. She becomes stronger the hotter she is. If Mahogany Obsidian becomes too cold, she may start to weaken. Extremely cold temperatures may even poof her.
Weapon: Mahongany Obsidian's weapon is a long jagged blade that resembles sharpened obsidian. This weapon is extremely sharp, leaving clean cuts in what it slices through. It is so sharp, that it can cut through many magical barriers as well as physical. For reference, it can cut through Rose Quartz/Steven's bubble, but not the shield. She often creates an off-hand weapon from magma, this can be a second weapon or even a shield.
Bio/History: Though not the first Obsidian gem, she is the first Mahogany variant. The result of an experiment to rapidly generate Obsidian gems directly from magma, her birth was violent and destructive. Instead of a slow formation, the attempt to speed up the process caused a rapid absorbtion of nearby energy, then release of excess as heat. This destroyed the equipment that created her, leaving a smoldering crater.
The young Mahogany Obsidian was presented to the Diamonds, who could not agree on what to do with her. She was the first of her kind and it was unknown what her purpose should be. Some wanted to have her shattered. They reached the conclusion that she should become a soldier. Due to her nature, she became a special operative, that often acted alone. She gradually began to grow tired of doing her Diamond's bidding and began to demand something in return for her efforts. Her Diamond scoffed at this. Other Diamonds however, jumped at the opportunity to use a gem that seemed to have the attitude of a mercenary. Certain Diamond's made deals with her in return for services rendered. They began to utilize her for the apprehension of fugitive Gems and assassinations. Through these means Mahogany Obsidian gained her personal spacecraft, the Ashfall.
The Ashfall is a custom built spacecraft designed for one pilot, a small number of passengers and prisoners. It has a visual cloaking ability as well as a hull that resists scanners and radar. It is capable of superluminal speeds. It's weaponry consists of energy weapons and explosive ordinance.
Many Gems fear her and some see her as an abomination. Especially after the "Avox Incident", where Mahogany Obsidian inadvertently killed her first and only fusion partner.
