Hello Gaians!
A few of our staff members are already on vacation so we're hosting a mini ATS session today. We are a little short handed so answers will be more sparse than usual. Let's sit back, relax, and get this ATS started!!!
A few little updates on my end:
- Still taking all my time talking to all staff members and reading through Site Feedback. Getting a good idea on what are the biggest issues to tackle starting 2017
- Christmas event should be ready real soon, aiming for tomorrow!
- Also testing a new feature to mark other avatars as favorites. It's also being tested now.
This will be the last ATS of the year, next week we'll be with our family and loved ones (for me that'll be Strider and Waffles).

Well, in the past there were times when we were spending more than we were making. Right now things are pretty even so we just need to hang tight, make new features, new events, and other cool stuff so we can deserve to receive more support from all you Gaians.

Can you please rethink the companion ticket rule that says the companion isn't stylized? That's kind of the whole point of wanting a companion.

Unfortunately as so many of these ticket have been sold, it wouldn't be right to change the rules now. You can always make a stylized companion with a Baby Golden ticket!

Hmm, I don't think old sponsors would mind us giving away old items. We'll look into that!

Any chance that [Boss] Watermeat's drops could be upgraded so that they're more valuable? Right now this is the hardest kin in the game to kill, and its drops are essentially garbage.

I've heard that Lake Kindred did not receive a lot of love in terms of attention and resources. We'll definitely be adding more stuff to the game now that we're back, and we'll add new game mechanics while new prizes is definitely a possibility.

We've asked repeatedly this year and last year and I'd like to know if there's a reason or if you are just too busy to change the themes? I'm not trying to be a pain by asking this, rather I'd genuinely like to know why, because if there's a legitimate reason I'll stop bugging you about it.

I think the main reason is simply because of a lack of resources. The art team just finished work for the Christmas event, though next time around we might be able to add more themes. It all depends on how things go in 2017 and if we're able to hire more resources or not. Let's hope for the best! whee

Looks like the Marketplace has once again lost its ability to track itself. The total revenue graph is indicating zero activity for the past few days, ABPs aren't updating...This is, as far as I know, the third time this has happened in as many months. I hope you've got someone looking into what's causing this so you can try to prevent it happening a fourth time?

It's actually something we need to run manually to update as the marketplace was getting bigger and bigger. We should have another update soon. Thank you for letting me know.

I've been told that it's rare, though how rare I need to look into. For now, best of luck in getting yours! We'll have more Kindred updates early next year.

Gonna be a bother again, but some people (including myself) have had their trading passes locked due to having received botted gold last September. We are still waiting to have our tps unlocked. How close to this being done are you? (truth please)

Would it be possible to convert some of the old housing items to items that our avatars can equip? There's some really great items that are sitting in our inventories collecting virtual dust since the housing feature is pretty dead. It would be nice to give them a new life!

What I want to do is to port Towns and Housing to HTML5 or Unity so we can play with it on the browser or on mobile platforms. It's a big project and I hope that we can get there next year.

What's up with the Monthly Collectibles Collector's Pass? We were told it would finish with Pass 6 in December, and come with an exclusive item at that time. But opening it only gets you a Pass 7, which shouldn't even really be a thing. It's been almost a week no with no explanation for it.

I was wondering if guilds could be updated. We could add cash options to buying guilds, forums and sending announcements. We could also increase the amount of gold needed to buy guilds, forums and sending announcements so it could also sink more gold. Guilds are very dated, people want a tipping option and it would be nice if we could delete old forums. This petition has a lot of ideas for guild updates. Would this be possible to do in the future?

I think we can help with some of the easier stuff such as deleting old forums. For the time being I have a few big pain points I wish to tackle first. Things like the announcement spam, hyper inflation, amongst other things.

Are you looking for more people to help code? Would you guys be into hiring students who are in school for gaming and such as interns? Or do you do that already?
Im trying to think of a way for you guys to get more people into the coding aspect of things. I know there are a lot of bugs and that's probably what you're trying to fix. If the site is willing to hire those who do not live in the area of HQ you should post something. Im sure theres people of use to you who currently play on the site that might be willing to help create games and other sought after features users are looking for, for cheaper.
(on a side note, PLEASE give us holiday themes for the Runway. Its hard to make deep sea and vampires as Christmas-y as they can be sweatdrop )

We are definitely interested in hiring more programmers to help with the coding. For the time being, we just need to make sure that we have the budget to do so. It'll take a few months for us to find out that, as we step away from the old ways from previous management, we would still have enough funds to afford more staff in the office. 3nodding

Absolutely. One of the first things we want to bring back are physical merchandise. Many artists in Gaia HQ are eager to design more cool stuff for you guys!

The RIGs from Lake Kindered, can you rotate the items in and out that are won from them? A lot of them aren't worth opening anymore, I think it might help with item inflation if we had more items rotating in and out of that game. It would also keep the playing value up, winning the same stuff over and over gets boring quick...

We'll re-visit that upon the next game update. The art team will probably need some time to get that ready also.

In the past year or two the convention participation has been hard to track. We usually get notified at the start of the convention weekend and it was typically only around the San Jose area.

Just wanted to suggest that when you guys change the site UI, please make the font large/readable. I once suggested in a past ATS to make the font for bug/ink/trash/flower exchange to be larger. At present, it is as small as this. That's all.

We don't have resources to work on Flash space at the moment, but the plan is to find help to convert things like Rally and Towns into HTML5 or Unity. Hopefully by then we will have adjustable font size.

Yes Strider is still a big, derpy fluffball. Though he has hip dysplasia so he'll soon have a cyber hip and better than ever.
