~::The Arena Emperor's Birthday Omake Contest!::~

Do you love outtakes? Do you love omake? Do you love seeing your favorite P4FES characters doing completely ridiculous [or perhaps, totally epic but unlikely] things that you can't imagine actually RP'ing [or having the opportunity to RP]? Then listen up! Or read, if you haven't developed the ability to hear text, yet.

Today I do hereby announce the beginning of the Arena Emperor's Birthday Celebratory Omake Contest for the Persona 4:FES Guild! What is the contest? A test of your writing creativity and skill! The prizes? Fantabulous! Need to hear more? I didn't think so! But I'll tell you anyway...

Quote:
How does the contest work?

Answer: Each RP'er will have the opportunity to write a hilarious, unlikely, epic, or otherwise original scene or dialog using any number of characters from this Guild! In essence, you're writing a one-post story telling of a single incident which may or may not have taken place between characters in the Guild. Players may write no more than two omake scenes, but may feature as many characters or disparate things in said omake as they like. And when the contest closes, scenes will be selected for...fantabulous prizes!

Quote:
What can the scenes be about? Will they be canon scenes?

Answer: The scenes can be about anything you like, including any character in the Guild currently, previously, or in the (Bad) future! They can be an extended dialog with brief periods of actual action. Scenes should give some provide some insight, new or old, into your character and their personality, interactions, and unique quirks. Basically, the more interesting your scene, the better your chances.

Because characters used may not belong to you, however, these will not be considered canon or as having happened in the RP...unless otherwise explicitly agreed upon by myself and the characters' player.

Quote:
Who can I use for my story?

Answer: Anybody in the Guild, or related to your character's history. Though if a character does not yet exist in the Guild, you may need to provide an explanation as to who the new person is you're including in your story. You do NOT have to use your own characters, but you most certainly may.

Quote:
How long do they have to be?

Answer: As long as you like...but the more depth the better. Writing just a few lines probably isn't going to tell me enough to win you a prize...but the length is up to you. The absolute cap is one full Gaia post, and please, do not break the story up into multiple posts.

For easy reading, please use paragraphs and try to highlight dialog. I will have to read all these, so make it easier on me, k?

Quote:
What are these fantabulous prizes?

Answer: A variety of things could be up for grabs. Such as an Lost Lewt, S. Link Bonuses, and the right to have your story considered canon with the Guild's plot! Not all prizes will go to one story, and the better the variety and quality of the stories, the better and more bountiful the prizes will be!

Quote:
What can't I do?

Answer: No songs, poems, or other lyric parodies unless they are of the Epic variety. These should be stories, scenes, things that happen...not Yuno singing about how she wants food for Christmas. I'm looking at you, Rednal...

So get cracking! The contest begins now, and will end whenever the @#$# I say it does! Which could be on my birthday...or a week after...or a week after that. But probably not that long...so get on your horse!

Submission Title: Don't forget....
Characters: Soji Seta, others.

Text:
It had been a bad situation.....once again. The steel-haired senior supported himself with his large blade, glancing up at the immeasurable foe before him........A being, stronger than Kunino-Sagiri......Ameno-Sagiri....Even the Goddess Izanami herself........
'Give up.... the voice called out, ringing in his head as he slumped over... 'You and your precious 'Friends' are parted......Your bonds no longer reach one another....You are alone...

'Heh...' Soji thought to himself, giving a small grin. He had been separated from his teammates. certainly...And things were looking grim...But...He knew in his heart of hearts...At the core of his being....

He was Not alone. An innumerable amount of floors down, the blue haired detective was blasting away at a mass of shadows with her mix of Darkness, Light, and Almighty Magic. She had been the last member to join their team, but that did not make her any less important than those that came before....She was no less important than the red haired Idol, and the lonely shadow turned human, the swift, almost imperceptible movements of their foe giving them trouble......
But, with Rise's detection skills, and Teddie's unpredictable, eccentric nature.....They would be able to act just as effectively....No.... Moreso than any single foe ever could......

A few floors up from there, a certain blonde haired biker-gang-buster clashed chair-to-blade with another foe, neither side giving an inch....Literal, and figurative sparks scattering across the area....As an indomitable will would crash against the wall....Again, and again. Kanji may not have gotten things right on the first time always....But he never gave up.......

A few floors up still, the lovely heiress of the Amagi Inn....The raven haired girl danced along a river of flames, sending wave after wave surging...singeing, burning across at the cackling, deranged foe. For someone as outwardly reserved....Someone who had seemed so fleeting, and passive in passing....The girl with a name attributed to the cold, passing nature of snow.....
Within her brewed a Fiery, vicious passion..The likes of which would not be snuffed out by her foe's meager efforts....She wouldn't be stopped by anything.....She would return to his side just as well....

A few floors up from there, an emerald-coated martial artist fought kick for kick against another rival....A fallen knight that engaged in martial arts just as well......But the Senior smiled, thinking of the spunky dragon with deadly legs..... One of the first girls he'd met when he traversed to the town years ago.... One who's powerful feet struck true against nearly any foe they came up against, and always brought an air of energy to their battles....... Someone who had been self-motivated enough to develop her own ruthless fighting style....The ever powerful Chie Satonaka.....

And, a few floors down...He knew that someone else was fighting his own battle....Blades crossing, clanging, and slashing.....Tempests of wind surging through the air....Gale forces threatening to uproot his foe where he stood....Giving it his all, as he had since the start of this whole journey...His best friend....The first person he'd helped overcome his own inner turmoil...And who had been by his side the longest....

'I'll be counting on you, Partner..'

The words had graced his ears what felt like so long ago.....Ones he'd heard in many shapes, forms, and fashions since then......
'I can't let them down..' Soji thought, as he held his hand up...A familiar card descending into his palm. 'Our power....Our Bonds....'

He could feel his inner power swelling....He could feel the form of Izanagi-no-Ookami manifesting once more.....Looking up at his foe once more. The darkness in his heart...The core of his being.....The shadow of his inner self.....

'I told you...Those bonds are broken....pointless...useless. Your 'Friends' have failed you, once again....It has to be you...It can Only be you.....No one else can handle it... it called to him, but Soji shook his head quietly.

"No...They're not useless... My friends have not failed me.." the Hero of the Investigation team called, as he gripped his weapon. "Even if they're not beside me...Our bonds cannot be broken....Distance doesn't matter.....Because even when we're apart..

"We're still friends, right Partner?"
Soji smirked knowingly, closing his eyes for the lightest of moments.

'I knew it..' he thought to himself, assuring the thoughts he knew to be true long ago...

"Yeah, we're not going to go quietly, you hear?!"

The obstacles they faced...

"We will fight, and we will win."

The missions they undertook.

"You're damn straight we're going to win! Let's kick some a**!"

The pain they endured...

"I'll back you up with everything I've got, Senpai!"
"Rawrrr! You hear that? We're going to win, for sure. Right, Sensei?"

The trials that had been overcome...

"We will be victorious today, Senpai. Though, I believe you already knew that.."

Every battle they had won....

"Of course he did....Even Yidhra knows that.."

They were more than just memories...

"Sorry we were a bit late, but we had to make sure everyone was here for this..."

They were links...

"Ba-Bam! I mean, ain't no party like a full-team party, yeah?"

Connections.

"Heheh....Yeah. 'Ain't no party' Like one.."

Proof.....

"We just had to clean up the trash a bit.."

That their time together...

"And a few....problems to sort out.."

Was real....

"But now, we're all here."
"Making the kind of history one'll be able to read in the book of fables and tales to come!"
"We're going to fight..."
"And we're going to win...."

"Together!!!"

And Nothing was ever going to change that.

"Heh.....Everyone's counting on me...just like I count on them.." Soji called almost quietly to himself, as he fell into position...Glowing forms sparking to life, and everyone adopting a stance. He held his weapon high, and gestured forward, a small smirk....A knowing smile...and a calm nod....

He didn't need to say anything....Not anymore. They knew....

They all knew...Just how important they were to each other...And just how far their bonds had come. They were all a part of each others lives, now and forever.......
....................

Much like you are to our lives, Arena.

Never forget that.....okay?

Submission Title: For Me It Was Tuesday
Characters: The I. Team

Text: A loud roar shook Inaba, and a stream of energy thirty feet across struck the hillside and swept across it, blowing apart everything in its path. Lurching above the city like a mountain was a single solitary figure - Nanako, berserk and somehow increased to her current size by magic.

"Rednal... I don't know how this happened, but I'm going to assume it was your fault somehow." Soji said, peeking out at Giant Nanako from behind a corner.

"...That's probably fair." the other boy admitted, pulling out that gun he was inordinately fond of. "So, how do we want to handle this?"

"We are going to do nothing. Stay here while I try to talk some sense into her." Soji crouched down for a moment, then leapt into the air and faced the raging child as she opened her mouth and sent another wave of destruction across town. "Nanako! Calm down! It's me, your Big Brother!"

"Biiiiiig.... broooootttthhhheeeeerrrrr?"

The giant's head turned towards him, eyes burning with a strange, hellish flame.

"That's right! Come on, Nanako! Remember who you are! Every day's great!"

"...AAAAAAATTTTT YYYYYOOOOOUUUUUURRRR JJJJJUUUUUNNNNNEEEEESSSSSS!" The giant reached a hand up towards the floating figure, then swung downwards. The moment before blackness took him-

Light, shining in through his window as Soji sat up, breathing heavily. He looked around for a few moments as his heart slowed down. The door creaked open later as a very normal-sized little sister peeked into his room.

"Big Brother? Is everything okay?" Nanako asked.

"Yeah. Yeah, it is. I just... I had a weird dream. C'mere." he said, waving her over. Without hesitating, Nanako hopped into the room and sat on his bed. "What about you?"

"My dream was great." She said, turning to him and smiling as hellfire gleamed in her eyes.

Submission Title: Of surprises and names
Characters: Minori and Genji

Text:

She looked at the small stick in her hands and her expectant nervousness melt away to show complete radiance. "Genji!" her voice cracked in her excitement. "Genji!" she called again, her pitch reaching a new high, and her head turned to the door at the sound of sudden, startled and hurried set of footsteps that ran in her direction.

And then, there he was, his hands on the door frame as if he had used it as support to stop him from careening past her. He was breathing quickly, on alert, but always keeping that quiet calm about him that she so much adored. His hair was disheveled, cotton handy locks a complete mess of curls covering his eyes...and Minori could only smile even brighter at that. His gaze looked all around the room, searching for any source of danger that got her screaming like that, but he only found her at the center of the room, looking at him with big expectant eyes, a blush on her cheeks that practically made her glow.

She held a small object in her hand...something the size of a pen or a thermometer; it had a blue tip, or a cap, and there was a small screen on the wider side of it. She kept it close to her chest, taking a step closer to him. Still, no words left her mouth...she just stretched her arm with the small stick towards him, and he could see two little lines on the screen. Two little pastel pink lines.

"Is that...?"

"You are going to be a dad, Genji."

The words took a mere second to sink in, green eyes observing expectantly at him, for his every reaction, every little movement. The first thing she noticed was the sharp intake of breath. She saw his jaw slacking, and his shoulders releasing all that built up tension. And she saw the disbelief in his eyes...the surprise and the love and the happiness. They all flashed through his eyes, and she caught all of it. It was only a second...and then, he was picking her up by the waist, spinning once, twice. All the time she giggled giddily, unable to keep the bliss inside of her. It burst out of her in the sound of chiming laughter and soft sobs and Genji pressed little kisses over the tears, the brightest smile on his lips. He kissed her and she kissed him back, feeling lighthearted and lightheaded and breathless all at once .

"A baby..." he echoed as he pulled her back down, his forehead pressing against hers in a tender gesture. She could see the brightness in his eyes, the excitement in his voice...the utter and complete love in the way he held her...so gentle and so soft.

They had been trying for a whole year now. She could still fondly remember his face when she told him she wanted a family. They had been resting near the waterfall in their little secret place away from everything...the clearing he had shown her so many years ago now. His arms had been around her as they laid close, comfortably in silence. She had been so at peace, so content with her life...so in love with her husband...

It had come like a flicker at first. It had started out as a feeling...a small yearning...

"Let's have a baby..." It had slipped through pretty lips like a whisper. Out of nowhere, breaking the silence. But the idea had been in her mind for a while now. Imagining a pink haired toddler playing with the flowers in the clearing...imagining big bright eyes and chubby cheeks and tiny toes... she hadn't realized how much she had wanted those shrill giggles and late-night cries and just noise in her life. Baby noises.

He had pushed his head up, shifting on his place to sit up and look at her better. "...Right now?" he had answered, his cheeks tinted a faint rosy color, though his tone wasn't skeptic. It was...eager. And his smile...oh, his smile...

"R-right n--? Here? O-oh! Well... I mean...wouldn't that be a little bit uncomf--- I meant... I have meant sometime soon. I-if you want! I just thought-- I would... really like to have a baby."

"No, no. That is not what I-"

"Then, you don't want--"

"Minori." he cupped her cheeks, and stopped her from rambling away. His smile was "There is nothing in this world that would make me happier."

He had kissed her then... and they had stayed there for a while longer...

And now...here they were. And it was true. There was nothing that could make her happier than this moment. He looked at her, and his hand brushed over her flat tummy...and despite that, she felt her heart fluttering. She look up at his ashen eyes, and she smiled, leaning in. He took his cue and closed the distance between them once more. Then, she pulled back, her expression brightening even more. "We should tell your parents! And I should tell Nix...and Soji and...oh, Nanako chan will be so excited." Genji chuckled, letting her ramble. "Oh! And we should start buying all the books! 'What to expect when you are expecting' and such. Do you think I have to change my diet? Is it too early to start thinking up names?"

He kissed the tip of her nose and brushed her long locks affectionately. "Junior, of course."

She looked at him with such a horrified look on her face that he could only let out a light laugh. Seeing he was only joking, she chuckled as well, ruffling his hair in return with a playful pout. "I am serious! How am I suppose to call her, hm?"

"Her, huh?"

"I can feel it."

"Well, in that case..." he stepped closer to her, and knelt in front of her, his eyes in level with her stomach. "Your mother is the most wonderful woman in this world. And you are the most precious little girl...Izuna."

Submission Title: Nene
Characters: Sakurazaka family, others

Text: He was restless. He could not help the restlessness as he paced around the waiting room of the hospital. The pristine walls and the nurses coming to update him every twenty minutes did nothing to ease him. "Relax, kid. You look like a caged animal in here and people are starting to get nervous with that look you got in your face. She is going to be fine. That wife of yours is stronger than you think. They both are going to be fine." the old man said reassuringly, patting the younger man's shoulder. Still, Sai only grunted in response. Of course Suzume was strong. He knew that; she even gave him a thumbs up and what she thought was a reassuring smile -though the pain was obvious- as she was taken into the OR. Seeing her folding over in pain as she held her belly though... that was something he did not want to see again. They had gone to the hospital immediately, and Suzume had called old man Kirikaze when she had felt the time was near...along with her family and friends. The waiting room was filled with baby pink balloons, and big pink teddy bears and bunnies, and all sort of gifts. Kosuke even held a banner with the legend 'It's a girl!' in it. Suzume was loved, that much was obvious by all the people had gathered around for their daughter's arrival despite the time...he managed a faint smile at that. There were still moments where he felt a life like this one wasn't made for someone like himself, but...

Sai sighed despite himself, and only turned away from the operating room door when he felt a tug on his sleeve. He turned and looked down, seeing the crown of disheveled violet curls, a small hand rubbing crimson eyes in his drowsiness, young face confused and sleepy. "Shinnosuke, what are you doing up?" His voice was more tender and softer than ever as he knelt beside the young boy, brushing the short locks off his eyes. The young boy straightened himself up and puffed out his chest, his expression as serious as a two-year-old could muster.

"Dad, is my sister here yet? Is mom okay?"

It was impressive just how quick he grew. How much he learned from the world around him. How much he was like his mother, gentle and soft...but how hard he tried to be serious. It brought a pride to his chest, seeing his son so eager to see his new sister. He had taken the news so well, Sai could remember. Suzume had prepared for jealousy; she had even come up with a song and a puppet play in case of that. Instead, Shinnosuke had looked at them, asked questions no children should be worrying themselves about at that age, and affirmed he would protect the new baby from everything and anything.

"So sorry, Sai. He woke up and got restless...I closed my eyes for a second and he was gone." The petite girl rushed up to them, rubbing her neck sheepishly, before he could give a clear answer to the young boy, and his crimson eye shifted back up to Niiya, shaking his head dismissively.

"It is fine, Honya. Shinnosuke and I were just talking." He observed the relief in the bookworm's face, and Sai could see she was still nervous around him, even after all these years. He had been about to say something else, when the doctor, not the nurse, came out of the dreaded door ten minutes before than the usual twenty minute update, and that was enough to put him on edge. Still, the woman seemed relaxed and there was a soft smile on her face at the sight of him.

"Mr. Sakurazaka. Everything went great. Suzu did excellent. And your baby girl is healthy and with her mommy right now. If you could come with me."

His heart seemed to stop for a second, relief washing over him and his muscles tensing all at the same time. They had gone through this process once before, when Shinnosuke came to their lives, but he would never get used to it. Specially this time, that there had been complications during the labor, and Suzume had been rushed to the OR. Not to mention... a girl was a whole new experience that Sai could not even begin to imagine.

The room he was taken to was colored cream with all sorts of machines beeping around. The woman resting on the bed looked beautiful despite the exhaustion in her expression. She was cooing at the small bundle in her arms, and he felt his breath hitching at the sight. She looked up and her eyes brightened as they locked on him, and he could do nothing but smiled at her. A smile meant only for her. "Sai!" she made an attempt of sitting up, but melted right back into the bed with a small 'Ow'.

"Suzume, take it easy." She was always so eager. Always so full of energy. And he wouldn't want it any different.

"I am just so happy to see you, Sai! Come, come! Look at her. She's...she's so cute!"

He stepped closer and took her small hand in his, pressing a little kiss to her temple. She giggled tiredly, nuzzling her cheek against his scarred one. The movement was received with a tiny gurgle that was akin to a reproach, and his crimson gaze shifted down to the delicate bundle in his wife's arms. Her gaze softened at his hesitation. "It's okay, Sai. She's small, but she's tough, like me." She winked at him and giggled...and he felt his heart melting.

And Suzume was right. The newborn in her arms was everything like her. She moved in the blankets, stretching arms and legs, almost as if she wanted to break free and explore. Her head tilted in response to their voices, and her eyes were a dark chocolate, just like her mother's. An inexplicable feeling washed over him...all the disquiet, the relief, the contentment and pride he felt...all the absolute happiness he felt at being here with his wife, his son and now this little girl.

"Isn't she perfect, Sai?" Her lip trembled, but she smiled so brightly, so sweetly.

"She is..." He pressed his lips to hers softly, and he felt her smiling against his. "Suzume, I could not feel any more thankful for you... I lov-"

"Mom, dad..."

The tiny voice broke his focus and he turned back to look at Shinnosuke holding old man Kirikaze's hand, standing by the door. Sai nodded and the young boy stepped forward, being urged by the older man. He picked him up, and Suzume smiled brightly, kissing the boy gingerly. "Shinno, sweetie! How are you, baby?"

He wrinkled his nose at the baby names, but he was mesmerized by the newborn to even reproach. "I am sleepy. But I wanted to see my new sister. She's tiny. What took so long?"

"She was a little too eager to get here and meet you that she got a little lost." Suzume answered, and the boy knitted his eyebrows together in concentration.

"What's her name?"

"Mm..."

Sai felt Suzume turned to look at him, and she smiled at him...and he nodded.

"Nene."

-------

He woke up to see Suzume gone from the bed. Crimson eye shifted to look at the clock at the bedside table, a sigh escaping him. 3:37 am. The last few weeks had been...trying. Nene had lungs of iron, her cries reaching every corner of the house, unlike Shinnosuke, who had been quiet even as a newborn. Suzume was energetic as always, but he had found her dozing off at dinner or at the shower a few times before. He knew she was tired, so he had made sure to surprise her with her favorite treat every time he could, and he had dragged her to bed more times he could count.

He stood up from the bed tiredly, stretching his back. He wouldn't admit the flipped sleeping schedule hadn't taking a toll on him as well, even if he admittedly didn't sleep all that much to begin with, but...it had. He walked out of the room, silence covering the whole house like a blanket. His steps took him to the baby's room, stopping at the door at the sight that greeted him there. Suzume was curled up in the sofa in front of the crib, Shinnosuke nuzzled against her chest. The two of them looked so peaceful there it made him smile. Again, he wondered if he deserved this life, this family...But one thing he did know...he would take care of them, always. No harm would ever come to any of them. Not while he lived.

The crib stood silently for once in the middle of the room. It was decorated with pink bunnies, and sakuras, the mobile swaying lightly. He stepped closer, leaning in to look at the small, delicate girl resting there. To his surprise, her big chocolate eyes were open, fixated on him. There was a curiosity in her gaze, her small arms in the air in a silent request. He obliged, picking her up, cradling her in his arms. She was...so small. So light and fragile. Her violet hair was soft, short, her lashes long, her nose tiny and buttonlike. "You really look a lot like your mother..." he whispered, and she reacted, giving him a little smile. "She is a great mother. She is working so hard...and she loves you so very much." Words had never been his forte, but for her...he could let his defenses down, even for a second.

"Her dad also loves her so, so, so much."

The voice took him off guard, and he turned to face Suzu, who stood now behind him, a sleeping Shinnosuke in her arms. Her face was soft as she stepped beside him, pressing a little kiss to his cheek. "Sai...you are amazing. She is so calm when she's around you. She knows...just like I know that you are the best dad in this world."

He felt his cheeks tinting a soft pink, and she noticed, her small giggle sounding like music to his ears.

"Let's get some sleep Suzume."

She yawned and nodded, for once agreeing without a pouty protest.

He loved his family...and even if the ghost of his past still haunted him at sleepless night...he would never give them up for anything on this world. He had been blessed that day he met that crying girl at the hospital that fated night so many years ago...and he would do anything for her. Anything for their children.

Submission Title: Amagai Dragons
Characters: Genji, and others...

Text: A family tells of an ancient legend about two great dragons: a young dragon who was heir to the Dragon of North Wind, and the current who was his teacher. Together, they lived a peaceful life in the heavens, but one day, the Dragon of the North Wind was struck down by a deceitful demon and fell to earth, shattering the land…

Blinded by rage, the young dragon slaughtered the demon for its treachery, staining the sky itself in its blood… But the sweetness of victory soon turned to ash, and the new Dragon of the North Wind mourned for the death of his teacher in solitude.

For years the bereft dragon’s grief threw himself into discord and he knew only bitterness and sorrow. Then one day, a stranger called up to the dragon and asked, “Oh, Dragon Lord, why are you so distraught? Have you not done well for the land?” The Dragon told him, “Because of my weakness, my teacher was killed, and without his guidance, I am lost.” The stranger replied, “You have inflected wounds upon yourself, but now you must heal. Walk the earth on two feet as I do, search for comrades and look to them for guidance instead, then you will find peace.”

---

On a run through the tower of Babel, Genji found himself separated from his friends through a string of events. It was a tricky level: there were traps and tricks everywhere of all shapes and sizes. Trapdoors, ceilings slowly closing in, false bottoms, hidden passageways, and anything else you could imagine a seasoned adventurer tumbling through all while able to grab his fallen hat at the last moment. It was almost like the place was trying separate people, and Genji didn’t doubt that possibility. Even he couldn’t help but feel a little anxious being separated from the rest, maybe not because he was worried about his own safety, but because he was worried about the others.

Calmly, the pink haired teenager traveled through the spacious, canvas white hall while keeping a careful eye out. But he still stepped onto a panel that gave an audible click. He was prepared though, and with his quick reflexes, jumped back where a door suddenly opened while the path in front of him closed.

It was clearly a trap, but he knew that there was only a dead end waiting for him from where he came from, leaving him with no other choice… However, when Genji stepped into the room, he found himself surprised to see the inside of a grand Japanese estate that looked like it belonged to a shogun in long lost past. And sitting there traditionally on the tatami mat floor with his back turned was a man in what appeared to be modernized oriental body armor. Complete with two weapons lying beside him: a katana on his right, and a bow on the left.

“Welcome, Genji.” The mysterious man spoke, his voice sounding rather mechanical through his helmet.

“…You know who I am?”

“Yes, I know a lot about you, about your family, and all too much about your grandfather: a pitiful man.”

“What could you possibly know, about me or my grandfather?” Genji said as his eyes narrowed.

“I know that he taught you all you know. And I know that he was weak. The only thing he accomplished in his whole lifetime was coddling his family, and what was the result? He made them weak too. He knew nothing.”

“No! You know nothing!” Genji yelled as he took a stance, but before he could completely take his position, the man turned and fired an arrow that he barely dodged.

“Foolish boy. Are you really willing to die for his honor? Don’t you have more self-worth than that?” He fired three arrows at once this time. The shafts bending in the wind almost like they could move freely to where they wished.

“Don’t underestimate me: I won’t die to the likes of you.” He responded as he dodged the first arrow and simultaneously ducked behind cover. Only dodging the other two blows by instinct at the last moment. He said that, but things weren’t looking too good on his end: the man was clearly an expert with the bow, and in this wide open area, he was nothing more than a sitting duck. There was a nearby exit outside that could have better terrain though… It was a gamble, but he decided it was better than nothing.

“Ha. We will see then.” The masked figure said as he pulled back his bow and released an arrow up in the air, only for it to shatter and rain down several scattered blue projectiles down towards Genji. Quick on his feet, the boy jumped down to a trench-like hallway where more arrows were fired at him, but he would dodge them all while parkouring his way back up to the wide battlefield right next to the exit outside, and sprinting there.

“Running away, Genji?” The bowman commented as he followed to the balcony section where he was bathed in moonlight, however, he seemed to be alone… But Genji was only hidden by vision. “I thought your grandfather taught you better!” Sensing his presence, he fired another arrow in the martial artist’s direction, only for it to be skillfully dodged with a graceful twist of the upper body and plunged into the floor boards. And that was his last arrow

“Stop bringing a man you know nothing about into this!” He roared back as he leaped towards his enemy and landed a blow that knocked him back all the way to the railing. But he wasn’t done. Taking advantage of the stagger, he rushed towards the man that tried to pull out his blade, but with a couple expertly done hand movements, he was able to disarm him and send the katana falling to the rocky depths below.

“You’ve learned well,” With what sounded almost like joy in his tone, the masked villain slipped out of his aggressive assailant’s range with a similar set of moves and knocked him to the side before running to the arrow that was still sticking up from the ground. “Now let’s see how you fair against this… Ryu ga waga teki wo kurau!” With that mighty call, a massive swirl of blue energy in the shape of two traditional style dragons sprang forth from the arrow and steadily made its way towards their target.

Genji, meanwhile, was in shock as the weight of the situation quickly sunk in. The attack was slow, but he didn’t have enough time to dodge. He was going to be hit. He was going to die here to a man who insulted the person he idolized the most. No… More importantly he was going to leave his friends and loved ones behind. He was going to leave Minori…

The very thought shaking him to his core, Genji’s body instinctively moved on its own, and with the call of words he didn’t even know existed in him before, he summoned a mighty power. “Ryūjin no ken wo kurae!” A green dragon of pure energy launched itself from his fist and intertwined itself with the other dragons. Then with careful and fluid movements, he was able to direct all three towards his enemy that swallowed him whole and left nothing but a barely standing man with armor in shambles.

“Perfect score,” The man spoke in his true voice: it was strong and deep, yet somehow comforting and familiar… “Just what I would expect from my grandson.”

With Genji's attention immediately caught, he looked up to see the now maskless man’s face, and to his horror, found it was the face of his grandfather.

---

The Dragon knelt upon the ground. For the first time, he was able to clearly see the world around him, and he became human. But little did the dragon know that the stranger was his teacher. He was always watching. Always guiding from the shadows to direct him on the right path. And once his student freed himself from his chains, they would be reunited not as pupil and teacher, but as family.

---

“Its been a while… Genji.”

“I… N-no… How?! My grandfather died!”

“It's true, he did die, but even death is not the end it seems. Whether I am your true grandfather or not I cannot say, but I can tell you this: his memories and affections live on within me. And to you I give the technique he couldn’t share with you in time--”

“Why did you put me through all of this!? Why didn’t you just tell me who you were!?” Genji interrupted.

His grandfather shook his head, “Because as tradition states, you must fight me with all your heart to unlock the technique of the dragon. If I revealed myself, you would have faltered.”

“I…” He wanted to speak out, he wanted to say it wasn’t true and that there was no way that the man in front of him was his lost loved one, but his hand covered his mouth almost as if his body knew he would regret doing so if he did.

“I don’t expect you to believe me, Genji, but it is the truth.” He said with the gentle and heartwarming smile that his grandson thought he would never see again. Yet it still somehow felt bitter… “But now I must go. I have given you the tool to help you along in your path, so choose it wisely.” With those words, a swirl of energy surrounded him and he slowly started to disappear from sight.

“Wait! Where are you going!? We aren’t finished here!!”

“Don’t worry, Genji. We will meet again. And remember: no matter what separates us, I will always be watching over you…”

Then all too quickly, he was gone...

GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE
On Thursday, sir? The time is very short.

PARIS
Freshly pardoned by the Witchdoctor’s words,
Have you not yet heard it said?
My father Capulet will have it so;
And I am in no way slow to slack his haste.

GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE
You say you do not know the lady's mind:
Uneven is the course, I like it not.

PARIS
Immoderately she weeps for Mercutio's death,
And therefore have I little talk'd of love;
For Love smiles not in a house of tears.
Now, sir, her father counts it dangerous
That she doth give her sorrow so much sway,
And in his wisdom hastes our marriage,
To stop the inundation of her tears;
Which, too much minded by herself alone,
And coupled with her being a sexy undead freak,
May thus put her from society:
Now do you know the reason of this haste.

GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE
[Aside] This guy is a creeper.
If only Romeo knew of his sort-of widow’s woe.
Look, sir, here comes the lady towards my cell.

Enter JULIET

PARIS
Happily met, my lady and my wife!

User Image
JULIET
That may be, sir, when I may be a wife.

PARIS
That may be must be, love, on Thursday next.

JULIET
What must be shall be.

GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE
That's a certain text.

PARIS
Come you to make confession to this father?

JULIET
To answer that, I should confess to you.

PARIS
Do not deny to him that you love me.

JULIET
I will confess to you that I love him.

PARIS
So will ye, I am sure, that you love me.

JULIET
If I do so, it will be of more price,
Being spoke behind your back, than to your face.

PARIS
Poor soul, thy face is much abused with tears,
And adorable, rotten fleshy bits.

JULIET
The tears have got small victory by that;
For it was bad enough before their spite.

PARIS
Thou wrong'st it, more than tears, with that report.
No face lacks fancy, that has once before,
Had earthworms taste upon it’s surface.

JULIET
That is no slander, sir, which is a truth;
And what I spake, I spake it to my face.
And dude, earthworms? You do not know how
To woo a woman’s fancy..

PARIS
Thy face is mine, and thou hast slander'd it.

JULIET
And there’s the creepo! Knew it was coming.
Alack, it may be so, for it is not mine own.
Are you at leisure, sort-of-holy gravedigger, now;
Or shall I come to you at murky twilight?

GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE
My leisure serves me, pensive daughter, now.
My lord, we must entreat the time alone.

PARIS
God shield I should disturb devotion!
Juliet, on Thursday early will I rouse ye:
Till then, adieu; and keep this holy kiss.

[Exeunt]

JULIET
O shut the door! and when thou hast done so,
Come weep with me; past hope, past cure, past help!

GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE
Ah, Juliet, I already know thy grief;
It strains me past the compass of my wits:
I hear thou must, and nothing may prorogue it,
On Thursday next be married to this necro loser.

JULIET
Tell me not, Gravedigger, that thou hear'st of this,
Unless thou tell me how I may prevent it:
If, in thy wisdom, thou canst give no help,
Do thou but call my resolution wise,
And with this knife I'll help it presently.
God join'd my heart and Romeo's, through our hands;
And ere this hand, by thee to Romeo seal'd,
Shall be the label to another deed,
Or my true heart with treacherous revolt
Turn to another, this shall slay them both:
Therefore, out of thy long-experienced time,
Give me some present counsel, or, behold,
'Twixt my extremes and me this bloody knife
Shall play the umpire, arbitrating that
Which the commission of thy years and art
Could to no issue of true honour bring.
Be not so long to speak; I long to die,
If what thou speak'st speak not of remedy.

GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE
Hold, Voodoo Witchdoctor’s Assistant:
I have a plan, and this one will go better,
Than that friar from the past’s, I assure you.
If, rather than to marry County Paris,
Thou hast the strength of will to re-slay thyself,
Then is it likely thou wilt undertake
A thing as difficult as death to chide away this shame.
Instead of killing yourself, kill the Witchdoctor,
That so parlays with death that
he himself may scape from it:
And, if thou darest, I'll give thee remedy.

JULIET
O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris,
From off the battlements of yonder tower;
Or walk in creepy alleys with pervy guys;
Or bid me lurk where serpents are;
Chain me with roaring bears,
and leave me to my doom.
If not, then shut me nightly in a charnel-house,
Cover’d quite with dead men's rattling bones,
And with reeky shanks. and yellow chapless skulls;
Or bid me go into a new-made grave
And hide me with a dead man in his shroud;
Things that, to hear them told, make humans tremble;
And I will do it without fear or doubt,
To live an unstain'd wife to my sweet love.

GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE
Right, this is exactly how you died the first time.
You don’t want to change anything you just suggested?

JULIET
Nay, I cannot slay the Witchdoctor,
For he draws power from the Grey still,
And so is invulnerable to poor Juliet’s arm.

GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE

[The Gravedigger sighs]
Hold, then; go home, be merry, give consent
To marry Paris: Wednesday is to-morrow:
To-morrow night look that thou lie alone;
Let not thy Warden lie with thee in thy chamber:
Take thou this vial, being then in bed,
And this distilled liquor drink thou off.
Wence through all thy veins it shall run,
A cold and drowsy humour,
meant for one of no pulse.
Then, thy skin shall warm, and blood thus channel.
Death shall nay keep his native progress, but surcease:
Warmth and breath shall testify thou livest;
The roses in thy lips and cheeks shall bloom,
Thy warmth return after two lifetimes lost,
Each part, once deprived of supple government,
Shall, limber, warm and energetic, appear as if revived:
And in this borrow'd likeness of towering life,
Thou shalt continue two and forty hours,
And then cold death will grip thee again,
As if from a pleasant dream.
Now, when the bridegroom in the morning comes
To rouse thee from thy bed,
there shall thou appear human:
Then, as young Paris hears that his bride,
is not so deceased as he prefers,
thy marriage shall be delayed.
From there, in thy best robes uncover'd on the bier
Shalt the Witchdoctor have thee,
be borne to that same ancient vault
Where all thy kindred of the Capulets lie.
And in that vault, desperately perform rituals,
To return thy undead form, and to eternal service,
Attempt to have thee re-bound.
This stuff has some severe side effects though,
Like narcolepsy. So, y’know, don’t fall asleep.
Even if it be so however, again thou shalt awake,
And in betwixt thy slumber,
Romeo by my letters shall know our drift,
And hither shall he come: and he and I
Will seize upon the Witchdoctor’s ritual,
And during the confusion caused by your waking,
That very night shall Romeo and I
bear the Witchdoctor to a purgatorial grave.
And this shall free thee from this present shame,
and Romeo from the Witchdoctor’s doomsaying;
As long of course as no inconstant toy,
nor womanish fear or plot,
Abate thy valour in the acting it.

JULIET
[Aside] If only I could tell thee of the Warden’s plot, Gravedigger!
Yet her spell binds me now, even so.
Give me, give me! O, tell not me of fear!

GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE
Hold this, and get you gone; be strong and prosperous
In this resolve: I'll send a fellow Gravedigger with speed
To Romeo hence, with my letters and thy plot.

JULIET
Love give me strength! and strength shall help afford.
Farewell, dear father!
[Exeunt]

SCENE II. Hall in Capulet's house.
Enter CAPULET, LADY CAPULET, Warden, and two Acolyte Servants

CAPULET
So many guests invite as here are writ.
[Exit First Servant]
Sirrah, go hire me twenty cunning cooks.

SECOND SERVANT
You shall have none ill, sir; for I'll try if they
can’t cook some finger-licking good
Licks of fingers.

CAPULET
Wha…what?

SECOND SERVANT
Marry, sir, 'tis an ill cook that cannot cook fingers,
or so says the Witchdoctor, and his voodoo lords;
therefore no cook goes whose
finger-based dishes goes not with me.

CAPULET
Go, be gone.
And bring a trash bag on return.
That I may barf my innards into it.
Exit Second Servant
We shall be much unfurnished for this event.
What, is my daughter gone to Gravedigger Laurence?

User Image
WARDEN
Ay, forsooth.

CAPULET
Well, he may chance to do some good on her:
A peevish self-will'd harlotry it is.

WARDEN
Ha, yeah. She’s probably showing sire,
Gravedigger the night of his life right now.
See now that she comes from shrift
with such a merry look.

Enter JULIET

CAPULET
How now, my headstrong! where have you been gadding?

JULIET
Where I have learn'd me to repent sin,
and the joys of disobedient opposition,
To you and your behests; and was enjoin'd
By grey-y Laurence to fall prostrate,
And beg pardon: and now I beg pardon.
I beseech you! Henceforward I am ever ruled by you.

[The Warden and Capulets exchange glances]

WARDEN
Pfft, told you so.

CAPULET
Send for the county; go tell him of this:
I'll have this knot knit up to-morrow morning.
Damn undead girls can’t go around sleeping,
With whatever Gravediggers they choose…

JULIET
I met the youthful lord at Laurence' cell;
And gave him what becomed love I might,
Not step o'er the bounds of modesty.

WARDEN
What the hell, a three-way? I literally can’t even-

CAPULET
Why, I am glad on't; this is well: stand up:
This is as't should be. The county is a freak anyway,
So he probably enjoys that sort of thing.
Let me away now to see the county;
Ay, marry, go, I say, and fetch him hither.
Now, afore God! this revered Gravedigger,
Our whole city it seems is much bound to him.

JULIET
Aye, thanks to him I am born again,
As if life were soon to take purchase here,
Amidst these old and rotting bones.
Warden, will you go with me into my closet,
To help me sort such needful ornaments
As you think fit to furnish me to-morrow?

LADY CAPULET
No, not till Thursday; there is time enough.
And it sounds like you’ve done more than enough.

CAPULET
Go, Warden, go with her, and prevent anymore tomfoolery;
For thus did we take you in, despite the prison’s debacle.
And we'll to church to-morrow.

[Exeunt JULIET and WARDEN]

LADY CAPULET
We shall be short in our provision:
'Tis now near night, and our guards few.
I hear the attacks from neighboring city’s
Outpouring of graveyards has increased,
And now even the Witchdoctor is shorthanded.

CAPULET
Tush, I will stir about,
And all things shall be well, I warrant thee, wife:
Go thou to Juliet, help to deck up her,
So the county may up her deck;
I'll not to bed to-night; let me alone;
I'll play the housewife for this once. What, ho!
They are all forth. Well, I will walk myself
To County Paris, to prepare him up
Against to-morrow: my heart is wondrous light,
Since this same wayward, undead girl
Shall at last be rid from our many responsibilities..

[Exeunt]

SCENE III. Juliet's chamber.
Enter JULIET and WARDEN

JULIET
Ay, those attires suck: gentle Warden,
I pray thee, leave me to my self to-night,
For I have need of many orisons
To move the heavens to smile upon my state,
Which, well thou know'st well, is cross and full of sin.

WARDEN
You’re really taking this born again thing seriously, aren’t you?

Enter LADY CAPULET

LADY CAPULET
What, are you busy, ho? need you my help?

WARDEN

No, madam; we’ve culled her as much as
is necessary for her betrothal to-morrow:
So please you, let her now be left alone,
And wait this night in the dining hall,
and let Sir Capulet sit up with you;
For, I am sure, you have your hands full all,
In this so sudden business.

LADY CAPULET
Good night, trustworthy Warden:
Get thee to bed, and rest; for thou hast need.

[Exeunt LADY CAPULET]

JULIET
Wait! Mother! God knows when we shall meet again.
I have a faint cold fear that thrills through my veins,
That almost freezes up the heat of life:
Warden, d-do you stay to comfort me?

WARDEN
Pfft, hell no. But hark well slave,
My plot doth near its end in complete.
Your wedding shall draw forth,
both Witchdoctor and President in turn;
and when they are a-seated, then shall
I strike, as an adder waiting coiled.
And once vile Witchdoctor is removed,
Then shall my comrades be a-venged, and
My Witch-slaying duties done.

JULIET
What, art thou not the true serpent,
Who lies in waiting, venom fresh
Upon thy unrepentant fangs?

WARDEN
Quiet hussy! Your conscience,
And untamed rendezvous with Romeo,
Shall not abate my desire to avenge!
To-morrow, all shall play their part,
Regardless of your desire to repent of sin.
And fair Juliet, first and foremost,
Will stand before that altar,
While heartbroken Romeo finds comfort,
Within my caring arms instead.
I command it!

[The Warden holds aloft the Voodoo Doll]
[Exeunt the WARDEN]

JULIET
Curse that trollop, but at last she departs.
Swearing to seize love's ethereal blossom,
Though she know not its shape or form.
Now then, my dismal scene I needs must act alone.
But will this break the Warden’s hold?
Or shall my ruse fall by the wayside,
Of foul Witch Hunter’s desire for blood?
Come, vial!
But, what if this mixture should not work at all?
Shall I be married then to-morrow morning?
No, no: this shall forbid it: lie thou there.

[Laying down her dagger]

What if it be a potion, which the Gravedigger
Subtly hath minister'd to have me obedient,
Lest in this ceremony he should be dishonour'd,
when I’m all like “Wait, it’s a trick! I’m married, you nuts!”?
I fear it is: that he hath sided with the Warden,
For how different are Gravedigger and Witch Hunter,
At the heart of the matter?
And yet, methinks, it should not,
For he hath still been tried a holy man,
And we couldn’t legally prove he was
A charlatan, if nothing else.
How, if after the panic at the wedding abates,
I begin to take undead form once more,
Shall that Romeo come to redeem me?
There's a fearful point!
Shall I not, then, be caught amidst madness,
As Witchdoctors and Hunters feud in turn,
And there die strangled ere my Romeo comes?
Or, if I live, is it not very unlikey,
The horrible fate of marriage un-to waits,
for the Witchdoctor may defeat the Warden yet.
And if that is not my fate, then there,
Where bloody Tybalt, yet but green in earth,
Shall be a-venged by the Warden, I shall
Most likely be be-headed for my undead curse.
O, look! methinks I see my cousin's ghost
Seeking out the Warden, that did split his head,
With an axe-stroke most fearful.
Stay, Tybalt, stay! Death is the rightful place,
For one who’s lifetime was thus spent,
Sending others back to it in turn.
If even weak-kneed Tybalt, who thus
Punished all who returned from the grave,
Now seeks second life, then why shouldn’t I?
At the very least, the risk is not too much!
Romeo, I come! This do I drink to thee.

[She drinks the concoction, and falls upon her bed, within the curtains]

SCENE IV. Hall in Capulet's house.
Enter LADY CAPULET and WARDEN
LADY CAPULET
Hold, take these keys, and fetch more spices, Warden.
For they are sour, and known to repulse,
The wandering zombie who may wander,
Too close to our happy gathering.

WARDEN
They call for dates and quinces in the pastry,
And bullets and rifles near the city’s walls.

LADY CAPULET
See that they have them both,
And each in turn. No attack,
Shall ruin Juliet’s near joining,
To Paris who waits nearby.

Enter CAPULET

CAPULET
Come, stir, stir, stir! the second c**k hath crow'd,
The curfew-bell hath rung, 'tis three o'clock:
Look to the baked meats, good Angelica:
Spare not for the cost.

LADY CAPULET
Go, you cot-queen, go,
Get you to bed; faith, You'll be sick to-morrow
For this night's watching.

CAPULET
No, not a whit: what! I have watch'd ere now
All night for lesser cause, and ne'er been sick.

LADY CAPULET
Ay, you have been a mouse-hunt in your time;
But I will watch you from such watching now.

[Exeunt LADY CAPULET and WARDEN]

CAPULET
A jealous hood, a jealous hood!
[Enter three or four Apostles of the Witchdoctor, with spits, logs, and baskets]
Now, fellow,
What's there?

First Servant
Things for the cook, sir; but I know not what.

CAPULET
Make haste, make haste.
Exit First Servant
Sirrah, fetch drier logs:
Call Peter, he will show thee where they are.

Second Servant
I have a head, sir, that will find out logs,
And never trouble Peter for the matter.

Exit

CAPULET
Mass, and well said; a merry whoreson, ha!
Thou shalt be logger-head. Good faith, 'tis day:
The county will be here with music straight,
For so he said he would: I hear him near.
Music within
Warden! Wife! What, ho! What, Wife, I say!

Re-enter LADY CAPULET

Go waken Juliet, go and trim her up;
I'll go and chat with Paris: hie, make haste,
Make haste; the bridegroom he is come already:
Make haste, I say.

[Exeunt]

SCENE V. Juliet's chamber.
Enter LADY CAPULET
LADY CAPULET
Mistress! what, mistress! Juliet! fast, I warrant her, she:
Why, lamb! why, darling! fie, you slug-a-bed!
Why, Voodoo Witchdoctor’s Assistant!
I say! madam! sweet-heart! why, bride!
What, not a word? you take your pennyworths now;
Sleep for eternity; for the next night, I warrant,
The County Paris hath set up his rest,
That you shall rest but little. God forgive me,
Marry, and amen, how sound is she asleep!
I must needs wake her. Get! Up! You! Stupid! Idiot!
Ay, let the county take you in your bed;
He's got loose morals, he’d probably do it.
He’ll fright you up, i' faith. Will it not be?

Undraws the curtains

JULIET
Hallelujah, it’s a miracle!

LADY CAPULET
What, dress'd! and in your clothes! and kneeling in prayer again!
I must needs feel your warmth; Aye, you radiate,
With the warmth of one who yet lives!
Lady! lady! lady!
Alas, alas! Help, help! my lady is not dead!
O, well-a-day, that ever I was born!
Some aqua vitae, ho! My lord! My lord!

Enter WARDEN

WARDEN
What noise is here?

LADY CAPULET
O lamentable day!

WARDEN
What is the matter?

LADY CAPULET
Look, look! O heavy day!

JULIET
Shush, you’ll interrupt my prayers,
That doth give thanks for life returned!
Hallelujah, I am restored! And,
Oh no~, Paris totally won’t want me now,
How awfuuuul~

WARDEN
O me, O me! My meal ticket, my only trump card,
Revive, look up and beg for brains, that sordid dish of death,
or I will fall to my knees with thee!

LADY CAPULET
Help, help! Call help!

Enter CAPULET

CAPULET
For shame, bring Juliet forth; her lord is come.

LADY CAPULET
She is aliiiive, arisen, a miracle hath occurred; alack the day!

CAPULET
Alack the day, she's risen, she's returned, she hath been granted
A miracle when it doth harm us most!

WARDEN
Ha! let me see her: out, alas! she's warm:
Her blood is hot, and her joints are loose;
Life and these lips have long been parted,
Yet now have met again, through some devilry:
Death draws nowhere near her just, it seems,
when we had found a county who would appreciate her,
For all that she had become; The sweetest flower,
of all the fields of Elysium.

CAPULET
O lamentable day!

LADY CAPULET
O woful time!

WARDEN
Calm! Calm, lest the servants below mistake this house,
For one of two Lady Capulets, and no sires within.
Death, that took her hence, was what drew young Paris near:
So propriety says that, should she become dead once more,
Then nothing to the young count would seem amiss.

CAPULET
Speak not in riddles, Warden;
Doth thou suggest that this life, fresh returned,
We should take again by stroke of the axeblade?

WARDEN
I mean, I have an axe right here.
Would not it solve your problems hence?

LADY CAPULET
Nay, Nay! This is a gift, bestowed by righteous powers,
And so should not be forsook so lightly.
And were Death to touch upon her now, still
The Witchdoctor would have to perform his ceremony again,
And the marriage delays many days hence!

WARDEN
Well, I don’t know then. Try, like,
Painting her up in zombie body paint?

CAPULET

LADY CAPULET
Send forth for paint at once! We shall,
Return this girl to her unholy state at once!
If not in flesh, then in acrylic!

Enter GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE and PARIS, with Musicians

GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE
Come, is the bride ready to go to the church’s graveyard?
Scruffy only does ceremonies in graveyards, by the way.
It’s kind of a Gravedigger thing.

CAPULET
Ready to go, but never to return.
O son! the night before thy wedding-day
Hath Life lain with thy wife. There she kneels,
Deflowered as she was by Death,
Now returned to a flower by him.
The Church is my son-in-law, prayer is my heir;
My daughter he hath wedded: I will die,
And leave the Church all; my life, my living, all is theirs.

PARIS
Have I thought long to see this morning's face,
And doth it give me such a sight as this?
Where reside the rotted, fleshy bits,
The desire for brains that inexplicably,
I doth find so endearing?

WARDEN
Not exactly. See, we found out she only
Looks alive, and life will not linger long.
By ceremony’s end, surely the night will
Grasp fleeting warmth back from her skin,
And all shall be well.

GRAVEDIGGER
Uuuhhh…

LADY CAPULET
O woe! O woful, lamentable, hateful day!
I cannot lie, before one who would be my son!
We know not if that is the truth,
And our beguiling cannot beguile a heart,
As pure and innocent as your own.
If you wish to have no more to do,
With this living puppet, then say it but so,
And we shall regret this day anon!

PARIS
Ho, I am beguiled, divorced, wronged, spited, my hopes slain!
Yet, raise thyself Lady Capulet. Thou art,
As my own mother, and I see thy earnest soul.
Though she now lives, Juliet is but mortal;
And doth the jaunty Gravediggers not say,
In no uncertain terms, until death are we parted?
I pray, staunch thy tears, for I will yet marry,
The human Juliet. And when she dies,
Shall we be wed anew, and my wish finally granted.
Hey, it’s only what like, fifty? Sixty years?
I can wait that long. And then she’ll be my wife,
Foreeeeeevverrrr.

WARDEN
Dude, you have issues.

GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE
Peace, ho, for shame! confusion's cure lives not
In these confusions. Heaven and yourself
Had part in this fair maid; now heaven hath all,
And all the better is it for the maid:
Your part in her you would trade to Paris,
But heaven takes his part as well,
And gives both pieces eternal life.
The most you sought was her, married off;
For 'twas your heaven she should be revived,
And when the Witchdoctor did so you found,
An undead relative was actually pretty underwhelming:
And weep ye now, seeing she is married
Above the clouds, to one as high as heaven itself?
O, in this love, you love your child so ill,
That you run mad, seeing that she is well:
She's not well married that forsakes her coven with Heaven,
To marry her flesh to another, ignoring that her soul is blessed.
Dry up your tears, and stick your rosemary
On this fair nun; and, as the custom is,
In all her best array bear her to church:
For thou you lose the partnership of your houses,
Through her service with me, shall your family,
Be married to the Heavens themselves.

WARDEN
The Witchdoctor had a stake in this.
I bet he’d be pretty pissed if you just handed her over,
To some creepy Gravedigger who worships this ‘Grey’ nonsense.

PARIS
…I’m just saying, I would pay a lot of money as a dowry,
If we just went ahead and did the wedding thing instead.

CAPULET
Well, I’m sold. Lady Capulet,
Go inside and tell everyone of the festivities!
We shall gather in the Graveyard, and there
Juliet shall be married by yon Gravedigger’s shovel!
Do not tary, the President is waiting!

JULIET
Wait! No! Don’t I get a say in this?
Damn it!

[Exeunt CAPULET, LADY CAPULET, PARIS, JULIET, and GRAVEDIGGER LAURENCE]

Enter EXECUTIONER PETER

First Musician
Faith, may we pick up our pipes, and be gone?
User Image
EXECUTIONER PETER
Honest goodfellows, ay! Pick up, pick up;
For, well you know, this shall be a momentous occasion!

First Musician
Ay, by my troth, the case may be amended.

WARDEN
Musicians, O, musicians, ‘Imperial March; Darth Vader’s theme'.
O, an you will have me live, play ‘Imperial March.'

First Musician
Why the Imperial Death March?

WARDEN
Because I’m about to murder freaking,
Like, everyone at the wedding!
You can’t do something so deliciously evil,
And not have an awesome theme to accompany it!

First Musician
No, no march shall we play;
'tis no time to play such tunes!
My loyalty lies with the Witchdoctor,
Who did revive us; for our band once sank,
On the Titanic’s foiled frame, and yet now
Rise again to spread joy through our music reborn.

WARDEN
You will not, then?

EXECUTIONER PETER
Uh, guys, it seems like tempers are flaring-

First Musician
No.

EXECUTIONER PETER
Perhaps we could convince them to just turn a blind eye?

First Musician
Nay, I will not ignore my lord's peril.

WARDEN
I will then give it to you soundly.

First Musician
What will you give us?

WARDEN
No money, on my faith, but the axe;
I will give you nil for your loyalty’s pay,
But return to deep water’s bosom.

First Musician
Then I will give you the rubbing,
To make my return fair! For I will not,
Unto Death with my honor so despoiled!
I am a serving-creature, but one who
Does not bite the hand that hath fed me!

[Draws Dagger]

WARDEN
Then will I lay the serving-creature's dagger on
your pate. I will carry no crotchets: I'll re you,
I'll fa you; do you note me?

First Musician
An should you re us and fa us sir, you’ll note us.

Second Musician
Pray you, put up your axe! But if,
This course shall be run, we are with you sir.

First Musician
Thank you for that. I shall die twice,
Knowing no better company exists,
Than that which I have shared with you.

EXECUTIONER PETER
I am with you, Warden,
For little may we agree, but I am still
a member of our Witch Hunter's guild.

First Musician
So you are, young Executioner.

WARDEN
Enough! Have at you, and shall
The music to accompany my triumph be
But the cries you utter in agony; aye,
Still it will serve!

[The two sides fight. Peter and The Warden slays the Band of the Titanic.]

WARDEN
Look there Peter, beneath the window!
Already, the Witchdoctor does wait afore
The gate of the Graveyard: Look how he smiles,
And greets the President and his First Lady in!
Enjoys the graves, you grave grave-goers!
Soon shall you rest within, a grim fate for-ever.
For you friends of fiends, that Witchdoctor’s pals,
No mercy exists within this chest!
Only doom awaits!

[The WARDEN raises their hood to create a menacing silhouette]
[Exeunt]

En's Birthday Omake Contest Results

1st Place: Of Surprises and Names - Hibarii chan
Prize: Wings of Light - A technique which takes some time to activate; by using the tip of her spear to draw a large pair of wings in the dirt/ground at her feet, then channeling her Light Magic for 3 turns into the wings (while only using physical skills to defend herself), Minori can transfer herself and any other member of her party standing within the drawn wings to any other location at which she has drawn the same marking. Once the symbol has been used once, she can instantly use that symbol to return to another used symbol...and vice-versa.

1st Place (tie): Romeo and Juliet 2: Juliet Strikes Back (Part 4) - Great Ryoman!
Prize: Best Girl Rem: A unique, loyal, badass, blue-haired maybedemon? maid named Rem, formerly of the Main Kirijo household, who has now pledged herself into the service of Zeo Kirijo, whether he accepts her affections or not. Serves at his leisure and assists him with his showy displays of affection, interrupts any attempts at sneak attacking him with a well-placed spiked ball-and-chain parry attack out of the aether, even as it breaks her heart to watch him fawn over every other girl on Earth but her. Rem is best girl. And all will wonder forever what it is about freakin' Zeo that made her serve him.

3rd Place: Don't Forget - Necromonium
Prize: Heavily Armored - A passive skill which allows the one who knows it to bear the strain of wearing two armor sets at once without a reduced speed or performance in combat...a Heavy Armor 'Coat' and a Light Armor 'Mail'. Heavy Armor may be a high-level armor of varying sorts, excluding super-unique armors of immense power. Light Armor may be a low-to-mid Tier armor of a wide variety. Excludes super-unique armors of immense power as well.

3rd Place: For Me, It Was Tuesday - Rednal
Prize: Final Boss Plot Armor - A unique 'cloning' spell which allows the user to replace their body with that of a similarly-empowered clone...unnoticed by the foe until it is defeated...allowing a clean escape from what would otherwise be a certain death. This is known as the 'Final Boss Plot Armor', in which the 'Boss' cannot be killed until the final battle...even if an overleveled party attempts to bring them down in a plot point before the Final Battle. This technique can only be used once. MUST be given to Fina Res-Taihaku.

3rd Place: Amagai Dragons - BlueEmber239
Prize: Cybernetic Body - Create a character or enhance an existing character whose body has been damaged to a near-death state by replacing several of the human components with those of an omnic (cybernetic) body, restoring the person to functioning, full health with greatly enhanced physical abilities including super strength, speed, agility, and durability! Can only be used once (effects are permanent), and does not require an equip slot.
