I would like to "weigh in" on your concerns, Bakura. First of all, I would like to thank you for all of the love you are giving your mother during these difficult times. As an elder Gaian in my early 60's, I experienced a stroke in April, 2014 and this affected my writing and drawing hand (fine motor ability) and my brain -- to this day I keep a little red notebook on a storage cube beside me, close to my laptop so I can jot down things I want to remember.

And, by the way, recently on a government form I wrote 1917 and needed to correct this to 2017 -- it happens! Now, lucky for me, I live with my bf, aged 66, and we help each other with particular memory lapses, plus he is there to help with my mobility difficulties -- I walk with a cane, ever since my stroke --
and I've had to deal with this. And he is there, right beside me, offering a hand to help me maneuver up and down stairs, and in and out of our Chevy Cruze.

My bf is a wonderful partner, but there are times when tempers flare -- he is afraid that I might lose my balance and fall -- and I think I can "do it myself" just fine -- so I try to compromise and be rational, and try to see things from his point of view from time to time, to keep the peace.

Now, my bf had to deal with difficult time of his life, before I met him -- his mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and dementia symptoms. So, I guess he could find a lot of what you are going through very similar.

Mild Alzheimer’s Disease
As Alzheimer’s disease progresses, people experience greater memory loss and other cognitive difficulties. Problems can include wandering and getting lost, trouble handling money and paying bills, repeating questions, taking longer to complete normal daily tasks, and personality and behavior changes. People are often diagnosed in this stage.

Alzheimers Disease Fact Sheet

I am not suggesting that your mom has this disease, but if it seems that she has some/several of these symptoms it might be a good arsenal of facts to take to her doctor, for discussion. Good luck, hun. We, at this guild, are all rooting for you! *hugs* Batty
Thank you, Batty! emotion_hug I appreciate all the support and love you're all giving me. Believe me I really do. I've feared all along she may have early stages of Alzheimer's or dementia, but the doctor keeps saying she's fine and that is what upsets me the most. We, my brother/Steven and I, don't buy into the doctor saying she's fine. We see problems constantly and can't find anyone to help her. Worse yet, in my opinion, the blood work results came back saying now she has an excess of B-12 and thus lowered her dosage to 2000 mg a week (so 1000 mg for 2 days a week). I thought we were really starting to make progress with that B-12 thing, but guess not. sweatdrop Anyway, I'll be keeping everyone updated as things go on. I took her to the glaucoma specialist today who wants to see her in another 2 months because pressure in her right eye is very high, too. I just can't catch a break! xp

I think you are doing the best you can for her, and this is amazing! I found a good website for you Alzheimers Disease -- Signs of Early Onset Alzheimers with links for further reading. I noticed these important facts, that you might find note-worthy:

How Is Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnosed?
Talk to a doctor if you or a loved one is finding it increasingly difficult to perform day-to-day tasks, or if you or a loved one is experiencing increased memory loss. They may refer you to a doctor who specializes in AD. They’ll conduct a medical exam and a neurological exam to aid in the diagnosis. They may also choose to complete an imaging test of your brain. They can only make a diagnosis after the medical evaluation is completed.

Outlook

The symptoms of AD may worsen over time. For many people, a period of two to four years will pass between the onset of symptoms and receiving an official diagnosis from the doctor. This is considered to be the first stage. After receiving a diagnosis, you or a loved one may enter the second stage of the disease. This period of mild cognitive impairment can last anywhere from two to 10 years.

So, if you think your mom's doctor is not giving his best medical care for her, you could ask for a referral for a doctor who specializes in AD. It could set your mind at ease, while you are minding her. Good luck, and best wishes.♥ *hugs* Batty
