Each fully developed sharingan has 3 Tomoe, so with 2 eyes, a sharingan user can have 6 Tomoe. You must invest each tomoe into 1 of 3 categories below: Genjutsu, Perception, and Copying. With each Tomoe you invest in a category, you will gain additional abilities. (You must list what your tomoes are invested in in your profile below your sharingan).

Any one tomoe can be invested in any category. So, you can specialize or spread them out.

0 tomoe abilities are available to all sharingan users, as long as you have the sharingan awakened.

Genjutsu

0 Tomoes
-The user can, through eye contact, suggest thoughts and actions to a target, coercing them to divulge information or act in a particular way, potentially without the target's awareness.

1 Tomoe
-The user can, through eye contact put the opponent into a genjutsu altering reality around them as they see fit.

2 Tomoes
-The user is able to break free from genjutsu A rank or lower using the sharingan.

3 Tomoes
-The user gains heaven-earth mirror, an ability which allows them to reverse any genjutsu A rank or lower onto the caster.
-The user is able to break free from any genjutsu with the sharingan.
-The user is able to instantly detect genjutsu C rank or lower with the sharingan.

Perception

0 Tomoes
-Time seems to move at 15% normal speed so the user can react faster
-The user can see chakra, giving it color in order to distinguish it by its composition and source.

1 Tomoe
-The user can predict future movements based on patterns and the visual data shown.
-The user can see microscopic objects

2 Tomoe
-Time seems to move at 25% normal speed so the user can react much faster.
-The user can see chakra through a small obstruction such as a wall (but not a large obstruction such as thick mist).

3 Tomoe
-Time seems to move at 50% normal speed. The user can react startlingly fast
-The user can see in the dark

Copying

0 Tomoes
-The user can copy the opponent's movements. Taijutsu can only be copied if the user has trained their body well enough to use them.
-Jutsu up to B rank can be anaylzed with sharingan learned later. (this way you can learn somone's custom moves, or reserved moves like chidori)

1 Tomoe
-The user can now copy (and instantly learn when copying) jutsu up to B rank. This can only be used in a serious fight (life or death or something like the chunin exams).


2 Tomoes
-The user can copy (and instantly learn when copying) jutsu up to A rank. This can only be used in a serious fight (life or death or something like the chunin exams).
-Outside of a serious fight, jutsu up to A rank can be anaylzed with sharingan learned later. (this way you can learn somone's custom moves, or reserved moves like chidori)

3 Tomoes
-The user can copy (and instantly learn when copying) jutsu up to S rank. This can only be used in a serious fight (life or death or something like the chunin exams).
-Outside of a serious fight, all jutsu can be anaylzed with sharingan and learned later. (this way you can learn somone's custom moves, or reserved moves like chidori)


A new tomoe requires you to be in a life or death situation, either from an enemy RPC, a mission, out in the corruption, or at a guild event like the chunin exams to unlock. You must be pressed against the wall, e.g. you are losing the fight or have taken heavy damage. Then you must roll a six sided die. Even, you unlock a tomoe. Odd, you do not. You may roll once per fight. If you failed to unlock the sharingan or a tomoe on your previous roll, you will pass as long as you don't roll a 1.

The amount of Tomoe you will start with depends on your starting character rank.

D rank- 1 in each eye
C rank - 2 in one eye, 1 in the other
B rank - 2 in both eyes
A rank - 2 in one eye, 3 in one
S rank - 3 in both eyes

Mangekyou Sharingan is considered to have 3 tomoe in each eye, but each eye automatically grants you one S rank technique. Having 2 mangekyou allows you to use Susanoo. You must actually obtain the Mangekyou in rp by having your character's best friend RPC die (not an NPC). The Mangekyou will cause blindness with prolonged use. The maximum number of battles an RPC character can use their mangekyou in before blindness sets in is 20 battles in total. Use your Mangekyou wisely, Uchiha.

Eternal Mangekyou must be obtained by taking another RPCs Mangekyou Sharingan, which fuses with your own Mangekyou Sharingan. You gain the moves of each individual eye and will no longer go blind after the 20 battle limit.


As for the rank of sharingan itself, with two tomoes it is considered B rank. Above this, its is considered A rank. At 3 tomoes it is considered S rank. mangekyou and eternal mangekyou are considered S rank
