Do they have a favorite book? Alternatively, what kind of books won't they touch? Digital or physical copies? FEED MY NEED TO KNOW.

Especially with the Prytaneum's translating magic, Songtao would really like fantasy novels with beautiful language. Rose Daughter by Robin McKinley, The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle, Stardust by Neil Gaiman, etc. Once she realizes it's not "cool" to like these books, though, she'd definitely hide them in the stack of nonfiction she usually reads.
(I'm not super versed in modern Chinese literature, so Western will have to do.)

Mal likes trashy romance novels. A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux is a favorite.
