About fifteen minutes of walking from the castle's gates and the city walls there is an open central square. A few businesses and stalls are set up here and seasonally there are festivals and celebrations that take place here. It is an open and accommodating space, with a beautiful view of the night sky, if one happens to be out and about when it is late. The view of the palace from here is especially noteworthy, and it has attracted a fair amount of tourist traffic throughout the years.
