Name: Anna Riley
Gender: Female
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 132 lb
Age: 20
Birthday: 7/19
Home Town: Celadon City
Personality: If there was only one word to describe Anna, it would be 'free'. With her whole life arranged around living as a free spirit, she will stop at nothing to maintain the freedoms of both herself and those around her. Past this definitive virtue of hers, she remains a bright and bubbly manner, eagerly seeking adventure for its own sake, though she harbors a desire to show the world to the people living in it. However, her drive to express her freedom at times leaves her in a frequent state of having virtually no shame, and a highly "I can do what I want and I don't want to deal with your whining so I'm not going to" - though in the same right, she manages to do so without actively intruding on anyone else's freedom to complain - she just also frequently utilizes the argument that she has the freedom not to be there at the time.
History: Anna grew up in the prosperity of Celadon City, born to a pair of well-off and affluential parents and poised to live a career in the marketing industry. From her youth, however, Anna disagreed with her parents' lifestyle, often protesting it as being 'lame' or 'boring'. Often pursuing her own interests above the insistent teachings of her parents, Anna quickly started pursuing other interests - in secret at first, but then more openly. Chiefly among them was her interest in keeping her own condition at a peak, physically speaking. Consequently, she took up swimming. The arrangement with her parents was simple; continue with her studies in economics and working towards the corporate standing, and they would not hinder her pursuits.
Anna held her end of the bargain for two years before she bailed. Taking with her the only Pokemon she had and making for the hills, Anna booked it out of Celadon City and made a run for the surrounding region. And, though she proved gifted in avoidance of too many wild Pokemon, it wasn't until search warrants started being acted on a year later that she saw the need to leave the Kanto region and cross into neighboring Johto. Once she had arrived, the sights struck her more profoundly, and further fortified her allegations about the blandness of her parents' designs for her. Even region by region, the world was a clearly vast and wonderful place to explore, and she found she wanted more and more to express that to people otherwise stuck at home (chiefly, her parents, of course).
Eventually she had taken her fill of Johto as well, and after saving up her winnings from some particularly lucky gambles, she bought herself a ticket to cruise out from Olivine City...

Nickname(s):
Orientation: Heterosexual
Likes: Freedom - Being her chief cause for virtually anything she does, perhaps this is needless to say, however it is no less relevant.
New People - Following her passion to explore, the experience of meeting and learning about people is just as much a thrill for Anna as exploring the world of nature.
Mystery - Having stumbled into a few misadventures containing clues and evidence beyond her understanding, Anna has developed a fondness for those cases where the answer to something found in exploration is to further explore what she does not immediately grasp (despite often coming up short-handed).
Dislikes: Tyranny - As much of a representation for her love of freedom, Anna has an absolute intolerance for anyone trying (in any way) to deprive the freedoms of another. Her only exception has been the use of Poke-balls (of any variety) and their effect on Pokemon obediance - and even then, she keeps a critical eye out for any Pokemon seemingly unhappy with their orders.
Narrow-Mindedness - Though it is a hypocritical concept for her at most times, Anna is quickly bothered by people who will knowingly avoid seeing things from another point of view.
Unequal Treatment - Ever the believer in a truly fair world, Anna's treatment of people begins and ends with the fact that they are people. This is meant to disregard prejudices of all kinds, regardless of income, stature, belief, background, etc., which also tends to get her in trouble as well (particularly with officers of the law whom she treats as being anybody). By no means is she blind to the consequences of the positions of society, she merely avoids acting on society "standards" and tends to avoid people who stand by them. "Social Justice", as it were.
Fears: Corruption - Anna's intolerance for tyranny explains her fear that government and economics hold as much potential as they do to deprive the citizenry of their freedoms in the name of broadening the gap between social classes. Furthermore, she fears equally that any given criminal band might overthrow the government and eliminate the freedoms of the people.
Storms - As much as Anna loves water, and as much as she loves nature, this does not extend to her being outside in a heavy storm (especially thunderstorms).
Goals/Dreams: Anna wants to see the world and show it to people worldwide. She harbors a fantasy that if she can cross her need to explore with some measure of journalism, she can show people otherwise stuck at home living their lives in place that it might do them well to get out every once in a while. She also dreams of a world free from all manner of bias, though on a much less reasonable level.
Skills: Swimming - Anna is a fantastic swimmer. While not the fastest swimmer out there, she can hold her own in a contest for speed and will likely outmatch most competitors for endurance.
Climbing and Running - while again she is not the fastest in either department (particularly climbing, as she judges footholds fairly poorly), Anna can persist in either scaling vertical surfaces or running cross-country with remarkable endurance.
