Powers: Scarecrow is an expertise in a special toxin that brings the phobias of whoever breathes it into to life as an illusion, but his mask allows him to be able to withstand his toxins himself. A few individuals are immune to this toxin due to their systems either being immune, not afraid of anything, or simply too large of a system in order to properly feel the effects of the Fear Toxin. Scarecrow however developed methods to scare people to death with rather his knowledge of the human psyche using fear as a weapon instead of his fear toxin. Scarecrow uses a form of martial arts he calls ‘violent dancing’ which is a combination of the Hidden Crane Style and the Drunken Boxing style. Scarecrow often uses a scythe when fighting in armed combat to further his Scarecrow theme and in rare cases, a tommy gun for shooting. Scarecrow’s final ability is to turn into a deadly creature called Scarebeast. This beast form is activated upon extreme stress and grants Scarecrow not only a new terrifying form, but several super powers such as: Super Strength, Endurance, Clawed Hands, and the ability to excrete a toxin quite similar to his own Fear Toxin. Scarecrow is prone to go into a coma after being Scarebeast, usually a side effect of the trauma of just being Scarebeast.
Bio: Crane’s childhood was quite a difficult one since his father left before he was born and he never really was loved by his mother, but his great grandmother –a very religious woman- was always mistreating him and even one time locking him in a church full of crows. Later on he killed his great grandmother in a psychotic rage, being the first step to becoming Scarecrow. His first dawning of the Scarecrow costume was during the night of Senior Prom at his school, where he paralyzed the school’s head bully and killed the girl who rejected him for prom by simply scaring them into a car accident. That was the day Crane truly discovered his love for fear, especially fear that caused death. Jonathan Crane later became a psychiatrist at Gotham University, but was fired due to extreme experiments with his fear toxin. Later on he moved to being a psychiatrist at the Arkham Asylum and during his time there, he came face to face with the man that would one day be the Joker. Jonathan Crane was soon fired from his job at Arkham and he took the title Scarecrow from the name the bullies called him in high school, since in order to continue his research on fear, John would need plenty of income. Scarecrow would only break the law in order to either test his Fear Toxin with different variables or to make money for the creation of such toxin in order to further his research. How Scarecrow inherited the mutation trait that allows him to become Scarebeast was thanks to the villain Penguin in an earlier encounter in order to kill off disloyal colleagues.
Extra: Scarecrow's skin is now extremely dissfigured due to a flame thrower attack done by War Machine. He is now more frightening without his mask on due to the near skeletal way his face now looks.
