Izzy stamped around the perimeter, following the rim of the forest from Artemis's dorm and towards the south. She pushed away some branches and pushed through some brushes, occasionally squinting into the dense forest as if she might see an imp or monster if she looked hard enough. She was told the forest was a no-go, that it was too dangerous to try now. Reluctantly, she supposed she didn't know enough about what to expect in a forest to try, since she only really lived in desert her whole life. But she would get her chance to explore, one way or another.

She followed the edge of the forest, and in short order hit the dorm she remembered as belonging to Dionysus, further confirmed by the vines winding around it and a bunch of barrels stacked nearby. Izzy grinned, and wondered if they were party enough to keep up with her.

Izzy continued, her hand brushing against some trees on her right side, and looked at the garden that cropped up to her left. It looked like maybe a biology nerd's dream, overflowing with huge vegetables and flowers. Must be Demeter's shack. At the edge of the garden was a young woman, leaning against the wall and smoking, and staring out into the forest.

"Hey!" Izzy jogged over to the other woman. She slapped a big smile on her face, and set her hands on her hips. She made sure to remain upwind of the smoke. "What's up, lady? Looking for Bigfoot out there?"

"Izzy Sandoval." The Artemis Chosen returned the handshake firmly and certainly. "Mountains? Oh well. Maybe we'll run into it sooner or later. The people around here are talking about stuff like magic birds and harpies."

The young woman made herself comfortable, leaning against the wall a foot away from Songtao and crossing her arms. "I've only started hanging out here this weekend. So I haven't seen anything like that for myself."

Izzy laughed happily, pleased at this woman and her true colors. "I thought I was out of my depth, but I didn't even think of other gods. Why not? Why would only one pantheon be the right answer?"

This was a hardcore subject to start with on a new stranger. But what the hell. She'll start with the deep s**t. "Not like I believe in gods. I think something is going on, but omniscient, omnipresent gods? No way."

She looked at the lush garden, with plants that seemed nearly out of season, or bore vegetables that seemed almost supernaturally large. There was no doubting magic was here.

Izzy jerked her thumb at a little forest path. "Want to go for a walk?"
