Quote: This enemy can be fought solo! A lone bird spots you and glides in to attack. As you get close to it, you notice that while it's the size and rough shape of an eagle, it's not at all natural: its beak is made of bronze and its feathers are metallic and razor sharp. It attacks by launching feathers at you, or flinging its poisonous dung. Hit points: 25 Damage: 5 each time attacked If you successfully kill this bird, each party involved in the battle gets 10XP and rolls 1d100 to collect loot according to the following: 1-80: You gain nothing but the victory of having beaten this opponent. 81-90: Poisonous Dung: You manage to collect a vial of the vile stuff. It can thrown at an opponent once to poison them, dealing 1 damage for 3 turns. After this it is consumed and leaves your inventory forever. 91-99: Heart's Blood: You manage to collect a vial of the creature's blood. It can be used once to replenish 3 HP, at which point it is consumed and leaves your inventory forever. 100: Metal Feather: Once per battle, you can backstab with this small dagger. Add 2 to your final damage. This item is reusable, and remains in your inventory.

So far the best fight she had was with others. She did her best when she was in the group, and they did awesome as well. Maybe it was just something about feeding off each other that helped. But she couldn't find a group, and once her back had been taken care of and a rough patch given to her coat Beaulah was ready to go out once again. Ready to take down more of those monstrous birds. She waited around for a few minutes, trying to find at least one other person to go out with her but when it became obvious that they were already all in groups or busy with other things she decided to go back at it alone.
Right from the start she went out guns blazing, letting her first arrow fly straight towards the body of the closest bird. She learned from last time that the body was the best place to go for. Not only was it easier to hit, but it seemed to hurt the bird pretty badly as well. With her luck, and well skill of course, she was able to hit it and hit it good. The bird was not happy with her attack, which was good for her. Dealing damage from the beginning was good, hopefully it meant this fight wouldn't take all that long.

As soon as the arrow hit the bird's attention was focused at Beaulah. "Come on Birdy, show me what you got." She called at it, not sure if that was the brightest thing to do but hey it made it fun. Taunting your enemy was half of the fun in fighting. Right? As the bird came down to get her with it's talons she readied an arrow, getting the bird in it's left wing when she let go of it. The bird was still about to get her hand, but it was clear that the damage she did was much worse then what it did to her.

It was tiring, which she was grateful for. It seemed that this fight was going to be much quicker then the one before it, which was awesome. Being able to take down the birds fast meant not only that she was getting better at it but that there would be less birds flying around and messing things up. Yes, the faster the better when it came to this.
The bird flung some of it's dung at her, getting her coat a bit, but she was able to send an arrow flying towards it and still get the dung out on the snow. Although it was cold the snow was helping more then it hurt, which surprised her. When she first stepped into the alps she would've sworn the snow would be a bigger obstacle then it was. It was bad when it came to pushing up the speakers, that was sure, but when it came time to fight the monsters it actually helped.

What was that about confidence making on foolhardy? Finally it seemed to catch up to her as the next arrow she let go flew off into the abyss. Narrowing her eyes as a bit of anger boiled inside of her the bird was able to swoop down and take a chunk of her coat with her when it went back up. "Calm down, you've already done this by yourself twice. Don't get stupid now." She told herself. Knocking another arrow she was sure she would be ready when the bird came around again.

As the bird came towards her she pulled her bow back, trying to get an extremely powerful shot to make up for the one she missed, and upon releasing it watched the bird not only be hit but come crashing down. She celebrated with a little dance, it didn't matter that she must've looked silly there was no one watching, and with a smile she headed over to the body, hoping to find something this time.

She had to have the worst luck of all time when it came to finding goodies. Still nothing. She had helped take down a swarm and now taken down three birds solo, none of them had given her anything. She needed to find better birds. For a second she wondered if she could pull one of the metal feathers from the bird's body, she heard some of the others had found solo ones, but realized upon close inspection that it wasn't the best idea. The feathers were sharp, and no doubt if she tried to pull one from the dead bird it would cut up her hand. "Seems like I'm going back empty handed, again." She sighed. If she wasn't able to get anything from the birds was she really even fighting them? It didn't feel like it.
