its common for (some) mexicans to say lights back on when the powers restored but is this how all groups and or people say it? im just wondering essentially lights = power in mexico asking after i see a homies status line here on gaia

Most people in my area (middle-east USA) say power, but I do know that it used to be common for all people so say lights because at first that's all electricity was used for.
Maybe some cultures / areas just never kicked the habit of calling it the lights, while others did.

well that sucks for my gaia hermano just about a couple of months ago his house flooded and he lost power too for like three days so i dont think he was on gaia during that time either either way idk what's wrong in his life but he's having a bad year
hey at least he is in san diego where at least if the power goes out in december he won't freeze but he really needs to not say the lights are back on he needs to start saying the power is back on after an outage not the lights are back on but its common in mexico to say that
i understand it because i speak mexican spanish but im sure others are confused by this
