Xian's golden eyes slipped to the corner of her gaze as she looked over to her friend. Not only was the frustration heard on his tone, and how it echoed from under his armor. It had been easily distnished by the subtle shift of his stance.

Yes. She could agree, they have already insulted them greatly. They as a whole and a tribe.

Taking in a slow soundless breath, Xian drew her eyes back to the brightly lit night sky. White tail tip shifted and tapped the handle of the finely crafted fan. She let her friend have a quite moment to draw his thoughts and focus them to something more. Or if he wanted dwell on his statement more...

A dark ebony ear shifted in carefully pulled back crimson locks.

"You and 'lazy' are not a set of words I would pair together fittenly." The Nahtlil told her metal masked friend. It was silly to even mention a slight comparison of lazy to Volga. He was one of the hardest working of them all.

"I may." The Nahtlil answered in a little shrug, she hadn't decided on that even for herself. The thought of leaving her quiet place hadn't even occurred to her yet. It was a time she spent to think of Oni, and when she left such a place, she put her thoughts of her Mate aside and focused on the task at paw.

Volga threw his head back and laughed. "They don't? You are too kind, Tah. Too kind."

His head swayed from side to side before he looked back up at the stars.

"Than I may just have to drag you back down with the rest of the camp. I can't have you up here all alone all of the time. Feng might get upset you know, and I can't have that either." Volga's laugh trailed off into a chuckle.

Finally he released a slow breath and returned his sights to Xian.

"Between you and me, I would rather not send the little one into battle. He is a great warrior, but the thought of something happening to him pains me..." He paused a moment. "Do not repeat that..."

Xian's fan shifted in a mindless wave as Volga threw his laughter to the night sky. Patient and elegant eyes watched their friend with amusement, past crimson locks. Laughter was a wonderful thing, and it did do well to distract one from the pains of the heart. A slow breath was taken into the Crane's lungs, as Volga playfully threatened a removal from her peaceful hiding place.

"It seems I have put you in a rather difficult position." The Crane's maw stretched out to show a prideful grin. Of course that wasn't her intention, but it was amusing regardless. White tail tip shifted and twitched giving some evidence to her amusement openly.

Careful and dark ears continued to listen to her trusted friend, they perked mildy to the more serious tone that rumbled from under Volga's mask.

The fan stilled in it's movement to rest on the fur of Xian's chest. A slow heavier breath left her soft and poised maw.

Xian's head turned to offered Volga a gentle and understanding look. Wordlessly her eyes assured him that she would not repeat such a thing, and rare if ever did of anything from her trusted friend. She knew his words were sacred and very carefully given in trusted confidence.

Nodding, Xian looked back to the stars above them.

Yes.

Xian shared the same concerns as Volga. In many ways, It was as if Feng was carved by her own paws and shared half of her spirit. The young cub, though wild was as if her own son.

However, he was destined for great things. To be a great Leader among Fire b'alam. Their hope, or their destruction. What he would be, was truly up to him and groomed by what they taught him, by lesson and more importantly action.

"I share the same thoughts as you." Xian spoke after a moment of silence. " However I am comforted in knowing, he will not be our little lord for long." The Nahtlil smiled just a little bit more. "That, and" The fire b'alam turned her head to once more look at her armored friend. White elegant tail shifted subtly in a muse.

"I trust it is why the Weaver has placed comrades and protectors such as you around him, to watch over him before that time comes."

Once again Volga unleashed a laugh, his head tilting back a bit before he shook his head slowly.
"He will always be my little lord, Feng will never grow out of that in my mind." Volga admitted boldly. "All of my cubs will always be little to me, and I do not hide that."

He drew a deep breath and thought about his other two cubs, out in the world and proving themselves no doubt. A pity they didn't visit often, but considering their current predicament, it was a good thing neither had come back to the fire lands. At least, Volga was sure they hadn't.

The amusement waned from his expression. They would never have joined a tyrant, right?

A Dark careful ear turned past crimson strands as Volga once belted out some laughter. Xian's golden eye turned to focus fully back on her friend, her relaxed smile grew with amusement. Well, to be fair, most everyone was 'little' compared to his size stature and dare she say arrogance?

"Well, you are rather large in stature, Tah." Xian answered, as a little chuckle left her maw.

"Train him well, and teach him right." The Nahtlil added after a moment, white tail twitched in thought. Volga knew such things, however it was true it was all they could do. Though, she had to wonder.....

Elegant tail flicked once more. A soft and silent breath left the maw of the regal nahtlil, they both truly had left so much behind-yet in a way gained a lot. Only time would tell if it was a gain or not. Either way, it was good to have a familiar friend like Volga by her side. Did Oni have someone to stand with him.

Xian hoped so...

"Do you know how your other 'cubs' are doing?" The Crane thought it polite to ask, she wondered if they had found out about the impending war, and would they come seeking him once more?

Volga laughed again at Xian's statement. He was taller than most he had encountered leaving him to assume he was larger than the average b'alam. It wasn't something he thought on, but was always amused when it was brought up.

"Yes, everyone is but a cub to me. I suppose that is fair to say." He mused aloud.

The laughter begun to ebb away and a more somber demeanor took hold of him. It had been some time since he had even last seen any of his cubs. They were trained well and Volga had no doubt they would be alright. Still, one couldn't help but swim in dark thoughts regarding this civil war.

"They are making their own way." Volga responded with a grin. It was the most accurate answer he could think of at the moment. Wherever they were and whatever they were doing, they were both very strong Nans.

"It is too bad they were unable to meet with you. I think you would have enjoyed their company as well."

Xian's tasteful gaze remained placed on her dear friend as he once more released a urge of laughter. It was good to see her friend so jolly, but the Nahtlil couldn't help but wonder if it was another armored mask he wore for inward protection. After all, she would know being one to hide often behind her own a gentle smile. It was a polite and clever mask she wore, though she knew her gaze spoke so much more if one looked carefully in them. Most masks do have eye-holes, or so she assumed, she hadn't had a chance to travel to the theatrical dark tribe just yet.

As Volga's laughter ebbed away, and his voice settled to the more serious question Xian purposed, she still smiled. The white pristine fan shifted in a polite mindless wave once more. Her dark and careful ears remained poised and eagerly listening.

'They are making their own way'

Xian's head answered silently in a graceful nod to Volga's carefully chosen words. She didn't need to ask if he missed them, Xian knew that the Tahtil did. How could he not? Under the mask, Xian even in the short time knowing him before all chaos broke loose in the fire tribe, she knew Volga to be a deeply passionate b'alam. Most did after all, the Tahtil did everything with his all....

Just like Oni...

"I am sure they are getting along just well then." The Crane smiled gently to her friend. " After all you are a wonderful mentor." Xian offered an honest and innocent compliment to the Tahtil.

"I am sure I would have." The Nahtlil answered with a tip of her golden horns, elegant eyes closed peacefully as she received her own compliment from the Tahtil. The Fan that had been endearingly given by her bound was carefully shifted to her side. Xian had no doubt that she would have enjoyed the company of Volga's cubs. Some day she even hoped to have more of her own on day. If the Weaver allowed it...

The thought brought up another jacklight trail of a thought, one that she would be careful about asking.

Well, maybe...they where friends after all, and she knew Volga didn't enjoy a run around.

"...Have you and yours ever had a chance to discuss carving a few of your own?" The Nahtlil spoke with a tamer smile. She couldn't help but wonder if it was something that one discusses with their Yoliliztli , or if it was something that just happened. Xian surprisingly didn't know, and sadly she never had a chance to talk to Oni about such a thing....

Volga puffed proudly as Xian mentioned he was a wonderful mentor. There was no doubt with anyone who knew Volga that he loved his daughters dearly and was proud of them. His grin grew wider, threatening to stretch right of the sides of his face.

However, her next question caused him to sputter a bit. His head tilted back up toward the sky while he cleared his throat.

"We have not. Both of us have agreed that the current crisis would not be a good event to bring cubs into. Besides, the young Emperor needs my time and I plan to devote it to him." Volga stopped before he prattled on too long. In short, it just would not be fair to bring cubs into the world right now.

"And I would not wish to leave Crucible alone to raise them..." Volga released a sigh.

"I suppose there is one more thing we are in kinship with. I have not seen her in a long time." His grin returned. "But I know she is handling herself well. I have not meet a fighter to be her equal."

The Nahtlil, Xian carefully watched her friend and his reaction to the sudden change of conversation. Though to be fair, it wasn't too off topic. Light tail shifted behind her as she watched as volga made a strange sound and seemed to have choked on the subject.

How amusing.

The tail tip of her long tail shifted the fan more over her maw as she stifled a charming chuckle from coming too loudly from it. Xian continued to watch volga as he raised his head to the night sky once more. Dark ears remained perked past crimson locks, as she waited her friends words, and answer. Upon hearing it, Xian responded with a gentle nod. His answer was a very wise one, for the time an era it wouldn't be wise. There was so much going on, and there was internal strife with the fire tribe-that and the young lord did need their complete attention and focus.

Xian's fan shifted a little in thoughtful conclusion. Yes, she was sure her and Oni would have came to the same conclusion if they ever have had the chance to talk about it.

"That, is understandable..." The Nahtlil stated with another shift of her head. A soft sigh released from her maw. "and very wise." She added with more of a smile as her careful ears took in his next set of words.

"Yes." The Crane agreed "Our other halves are very strong, both in spirit and in body."

The conversation was reassuring and did help calm the storm that was faintly brewing in the Nahtlil's chest. Their Yoliliztli where both very capable, and would be fine....

Volga grinned. "See? Nothing to dwell alone on a mountain top about. Your mind needs to be clear for what is at hand now. Our young lord needs a sound guide."

Volga laughed to the thought while he tipped his nose upward.

"Not that I would think you one to be overly distracted. Of all the b'alam here..."

His voice trailed off a bit, as if he had more to say, but it was lost to some soft gust of wind. A grin remained cemented upon his maw while he lowered his nose to look at Xian squarely.

"I've been meaning to ask you, what do you think of our recruits so far?"

Xian smiled to Volga as he did well to once more reassure her, yes he was a good friend and right in a lot of ways. However, it was the whole reason why she did seek out a quiet place was so that her thoughts could remain focus during the day. As long as she could at least get her thoughts and worries out in the night after the day was done, they wouldn't bother her thought out the next given sun rise. It did well to help keep her thoughts sane and poised, focused and full of tact. She couldn't afford to be distracted, no-not in such a circuital time. Not when Feng's upbringing and survival depend on it.

"Yes, It's why I take these moments to be alone." Xian shared with her friend. "It helps me to keep that sound mind for our Young lord." The Nahtlil nodded, she agreed with Volga, she did need to be of clear mind.

The Red Crane smiled to Volga's words, she wasn't easily distracted and it was because of such moments.

Elegant tail shifted the finely crafted fan against her pelt as Volga spoke of the other recruits. A soft and careful sigh left the Nahtlil, let her eyes close the fan shifted a little against her fur.

"Honestly, not a lot has been proven of them." Xian spoke. "on their behalf, so I honestly can not give you a fair answer." The Nahtlil's smile faltered slightly as she turned her head to look back at her friend. White and black tail flicked ever so slightly.

"The cubs, do show promise however." The Red Crane offered a smile. It was too soon to tell, and not a lot as of the moment could be said of the new recruits the 'war' was still at it's beginnings.

Volga snorted than shook his head slowly, his wide grin remained firmly planted on his Cheshire maw. The end of his tail flicked about behind him. Than a soft hum-breath passed his visible teeth.

"I am glad to see I am not the only one who see this. Had I not had confidence in other allies and my own abilities as a warrior I may be worried about those who claim to be about our cause..." He chuckled.

Than his head tilted to the side before he returned full attention back to Xian. "The Cubs?" He repeated thoughtfully. "Ah, I have yet to meet with them... My attention has been for the young Lord as of late. Perhaps I should make time to meet them, especially if you claim them to be so promising!"

His head righted itself before he released another laugh. Everyone had been so busy as of late. It would be wise to become more acquainted with those on his side.

A sigh left the Nahtlil, as a meek smile remained firmly placed on Xian's delicate maw. Yes, Volga wasn't alone. It was too early to tell who would bring worth to the camp, that and there wasn't much to be known of the recruits. Not yet anyways...

Long white tail shifted the fan against pristine fur once more.

"Yes," The Nahtlil responded in kind with a regal tilt of her golden horns. "That's not surprising." Xian answered softy, a gentle chuckle left her maw. Tah Volga was very busy after all...

"After your lessons," Golden eyes turned to place themselves on her friend once. The Pristine fan paused in it's careful and mindless movement.

"The Young Lord's day had only seemed to begun, as he meets with them everyday on the obsidian flow." The Mother told on her son, as she had watched him out of curiosity and protection. That and she was interested what her sweet cub did all day, there was times she could spare to watch his progress with his followers ever now and than.

"He not only imparts your lessons Volga, but he trains along side them as well." The Nahtlil smiled as she turned to look over at her armored friend. Curiosus to see his expression. Their young lord was already showing promises of what it takes to be great leader....
