Lightning Dragon Slayer ~ Lost
A type of Magic which allows Cataegis to incorporate the element of lightning into his body, gaining exclusive characteristics that are commonly associated with Lightning Dragons. Cataegis is capable of producing lightning from his body and of manipulating it to attack his opponents. This Magic’s spells seem to possess an incredibly high voltage, being particularly destructive, and the electricity of which they’re composed of seems capable of momentarily paralyzing foes, making it easier for Cataegis to take them out; however, his trajectory may be redirected by metal objects acting as “lightning rods”, thus redirecting the attacks. Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic, being a form of Dragon Slayer Magic, allows Cataegis to consume external sources of electricity and lightning to restore his body and replenish his strength reserves. However, this won't work for lightning he produced himself.
Soulweaver ~ Caster
Soulweaver Magic is a magic that seems to have been lost to the current world, appearing only in books and stories about the ages of yore. It's a magic that seems to develop based on the user's soul, creating seemingly phantasmic objects which can be used to attack or trap the opponent. What appears is based on the soul of the user, but it does have a limit. It is impossible to create organic beings, though you can create a humanoid being (spirit/soul) to help attack. You also cannot create towers and the like, being limited to everyday objects you can hold. Soulweaver, depending on the user, can be considered either powerful or weak. It all relies upon the soul and their imagination (not to be confused with Arc of Embodiment).

A Magic which allows the user to manipulate the terrain of a specific area and give it different effects. The effect given may vary from causing the ground to crumble to manipulating the area's gravity. The user could even summon a mass of water and flood the entire area.

Master Hand to Hand Combatant: Masters of unarmed combat possess the greatest prowess of all, being capable of easily taking on several opponents at once with ease. Some of them are known to employ hand-to-hand combat as the main element of their fighting style, and can overwhelm foes even if they are armed or larger than the users themselves.
Keen Intellect: Cataegis has proven to have some brains behind all of his brawn. He's able to figure out most things very quickly, or even think up great strategies. He can also play a great game of chess.
Immense Durability: Cataegis has a pretty resilient body, able to take being thrown through a wall or struck by very powerful magic, and still be left standing. Though he can, like all others, still suffer effects. Though he'd be likely to stay standing longer than others would.
Immense Strength: Along with very high durability, Cataegis also has a very high amount of strength. He'd be able to life a very large boulder, or punch said boulder into tiny pebbles.
Enhanced Reflexes: Cataegis has displayed extremely sharp reflexes and a high degree of speed and agility. Some would consider him as quick as a lightning bolt.
High Magic Power: Cataegis, almost like his father, possesses ahigh level of Magic Power, which, befitting his Magic and theme, manifests itself in the form of electricity. This can appear from his body in various amounts, from simple sparks, when he wants to intimidate opponents or is annoyed, to a potent lightning aura around him, which damages the surrounding area, when he's enraged. In the latter state, lightning even starts to appear from his eyes and mouth.
Enhanced Smell and Hearing: Cataegis has a nose that can smell things from miles away. Whether it be a person, an object, or a certain type of food. His hearing is also pretty good, so it'd be easy for him to eavesdrop from a considerable distance. Although other sounds can still mix in, he can manage to focus on just one sound.

- Background Information -
Personality:
Cataegis is a man whose appearance doesn't speak well for who he is. The way he looks makes one think he's someone who keeps to himself, and is bored of almost everything. Someone who could never have fun, even if they had to to survive. But see, the thing is, this isn't who Cataegis really is.
Much like his element, Cataegis is always full of energy. He also seems to be able to bounce off the walls at any moment, due to how hyperactive he can be. Because of this, he's easily a people person, and once someone knows him, they'll love talking to him. He rarely ever seems to have a bad day, and even when he does, he still seems to smile through it. He also enjoys trying to guess how a person acts when he first meets them. Another part that makes up this happy-go-lucky side of him is how he acts at times. By that I mean he usually plays out scenes of how he would usually act, with dramaticized effects. He especially loves to tell jokes, trying to get other people to join in on his laughter. Speaking of laughter, his seems to be contagious, which is why he sometimes laughs when others are feeling down.
When in battle, his personality seems to do a complete flip. He goes from his usual humorous and happy side, to someone calm and calculating. He watches his opponent's every move, waiting for them to make a first strike of some kind. Though, depending on how excited his opponent can make him, he can do another switch. He'll go from his calm and calculating side, to excited and wild. In this state, he becomes an even bigger threat, since he seems to stop thinking about who to do, and just does it. Though he can easily switch back to his calm self. It just takes some self-restraint.
Hopefully to never see the daylight is a part of his personality that most would describe as Demonic. Only few have seen this personality... and none lived to tell the tale.
This is his... angry personality. The side of him that he doesn't like letting see the daylight. When he becomes like this, he turns cruel, sadistic, selfish, and insane beyond measure. His delight comes from the suffering of others, both mentally and physically. And he enjoys seeing his enemies suffer in this way. He provokes others for his own amusement, and enjoys torturing them in various ways. This personality seems to be more unforgiving, revealing the hidden wild side of Cataegis. But wildness isn't always a good thing. When the battle isn't going his way anymore, he becomes more like a wild animal fighting for its life. He becomes more unpredictable, and fights only to get away from his opponent. This can be very dangerous if you're not used to dealing with situations like this. Or even if you are, it can still be deadly.
Background/Biography:
Born to famous Fairy Tail mages Mirajane and Laxus, great things were expected of this boy.
It's said that the day he was born, there was a lightning storm, as if to signify what he would become. He was born not even a year after his elder sister, which caused things to be a bit troublesome, but his parents were able to deal with it nonetheless. It seemed that, while his mother took his older sister (Celestia) under her wing to train her, Laxus took his son (Cataegis) under his wing to train him. This all happened when Cataegis had turned three, his sister four by now. Laxus was a very hardy trainer, leaving next to no room for mistakes. But, even at this age, Cataegis understood how much this meant to his father. So he did his damndest to make his father, and inadvertently his mother, both proud of him. While Celestia was able to have learned her Take Over magic seemingly effortlessly, Cataegis had much more trouble. He always managed to shock himself, causing many scars to form on his hands. But even through the pain he grit his teeth, not wanting to disappoint. And finally, he got the hang of Lightning Dragon Slayer magic.
At the age of seven, Cataegis spent most of his time training with his father, going along with him on his missions to learn more about his magic. He even got to battle a few times (though then again these were B and A Rank Jobs, since S Rank were still too dangerous for the young boy to go along on). He seemed to have split from the path his sister was taking, since she went on these Jobs by herself most of the time, and he always tagged along with someone else. Due to this, his mother decided to try and teach him how to use Take Over magic. But, needless to say, this was not Cataegis's strongest area. It's not that he was too weak to use the magic, but instead he was unable to focus enough to actually transform. It was as if his mind was moving twenty different ways at once, being unable to have him focus on a single thing at once. People had joked that it was because he accidentally fried his brain one too many times. But, in truth, they were somewhat right. Cataegis was a young child who always thought about too many things at once. Much different from other kids, who were always focused on doing one thing. This made him unique, and gained the love of his parents even more.
Around the age of eight, he noticed that Celestia was trying to learn Lightning Magic. But it seemed that his older sister was unable to grasp this concept, as she had with her Take Over magic. Cataegis wanted to do his best to encourage her, but there was so much tension in his family, he was afraid that saying something would cause someone to snap at him. And so, instead of consoling his sister, he stayed in the background, watching. It was around this time that Celestia ran away, and Cataegis chased after her. But he was too slow and, once again, unable to do anything. He fell to his knees, watching her run off into the distance, fighting back the tears that threatened to well in his eyes. But he was unable to do so and broke down crying, found soon by his parents. He was taken back to Fairy Tail, becoming a different person. He asked his father to train him more in the ways of the Lightning Dragon, to become strong enough to protect everyone. And bring back those who left in sadness or anger. Laxus agreed to this, and so began the most intense training regiment that Cataegis would ever deal with.
It was also around the time that Celestia had ran away that his younger sister, Aria, was born. But Cataegis was always too busy training to pay much mind to his baby sister. Though at times of rest, he did check in on her, making sure she was okay and that no harm had somehow befallen her. He didn't want her to end up running away like their older sister, or getting hurt because Cataegis was unable to protect her. But other times, during training, Cataegis always showed room for improvement. Though he was much more powerful now than he was a couple years ago, he still didn't seem to be ready to protect anyone just yet. One day while training, Mirajane and Laxus got word that Celestia had joined a Dark Guild. Cataegis had overheard this, and anger seemed to boil deep within him. He was so angry with his older sister right now, making his parents go through something like this. It wasn't long after this that he began training again, and with the anger still boiling within him, he got much more powerful, and improved by quite a bit. It seemed that his own anger was fueling him to strive to become better.
But upon noticing this, Cataegis had to calm himself. He didn't want everything he did to be out of pure anger. For he felt that if it was, he'd end up much like his older sister. Running away and joining a Dark Guild. Fast forward a few years, and his little sister was beginning to learn Magic. Though once again, his mother had taken care of this, leaving Laxus to continue training Cataegis. Neither male minded this, since Laxus was always willing to train, and Cataegis was always willing to learn. Whenever the two of them clashed during training, lightning could be seen from as far as the edge of Magnolia Town, and sometimes caused storm clouds to develop in the sky. Both men were fully capable Lightning Dragon Slayers, both as free as lightning itself. When he was nineteen, and his little sister nine, he learned that she had taken down a powerful Demon, to claim as her Satan Soul. This impressed Cataegis, as it of course did their parents. The family all trained themselves happily, but soon, this happiness would come to an end.
A few years later, word that Celestia had been killed- no, murdered- had reached Fairy tail, causing everyone there to go into some kind of depression. But Cataegis... he was different. Whereas everyone else lost their will to fight, some even going as far as to stop taking jobs, he didn't stop. His mind had been filled with anger and sadness. Anger at the fact that this all happened because Celestia ran off, and joined a dark guild. Sadness at the fact that he was unable to stop her from running away, and could've prevented her untimely death. He blamed himself either way and, for it, training himself every day to the point that he passed out from exhaustion. Though his parents, knowing he would kill himself like this, stopped him. He would've argued against it, if he had not seen the looks in their eyes. What would he gain from killing himself from training? His parents would lose another child, and he'd be unable to protect everyone like he had once wanted to. So he stopped training, but took on many different jobs. It wasn't one right after the other, as there were usually a few days in between. But it wasn't as bad as he had been trying to train not long before. Everyone seemed to be slowly coming back to their senses, fighting and taking jobs once again.
A few years after all of this, his parents, along with some others, all took off on a 100 Year Job. Cataegis, deciding that his sister would be fine on her own, left the guild not long after this. He gave her a small charm; a golden rope with a metallic lightning symbol on it, and told her that, as long as she kept this, he would one day come back. After his parents finally left, he quit Fairy Tail, taking the vow that all those that leave do, and became an Independent Mage. He didn't get to see her train with her Red Lightning Magic, nor did he get to see anyone else grow. But it was here that Cataegis's true training began. He learned more Lightning Dragon Slayer magic, even some spells that even his father didn't know. He also managed to learn Lightning Magic by himself, making him that much more of a threat. He rarely ever went back to magnolia, for he didn't want to go back a weak man. He wanted to travel long enough to become powerful, and protect everyone at the guild. He didn't want to disappoint his parents, nor his little sister. He didn't even want to disappoint his deceased older sister. And so shortly after learning Lightning Magic, he took up learning Terrain Effect magic.
And now, Cataegis is a different man from what he was once in the past. In the short time he has been an Independent Mage, Cataegis has grown much stronger, feeling able to protect everyone now. Though he knows that he is so much more capable of other many things, he decided that he didn't want to reach these levels yet. He has been gone from his family for far too long, and became homesick. But this isn't the only reason he's returning. He has heard much about the fact that strange... dolls, of people he knows, friends of his parents, are attacking villages, and even guilds! So he is returning to make sure his little sister, and the whole of Fairy Tail, are safe. He only hopes that he is not too late.

► Lightning Dragon's Heavenward Halberd - Cataegis raises his hands and forms lightning between them, forming a very large spear out of it. He then hurls the spear at the enemy.
► Lightning Dragon's Breakdown Fist - Cataegis punches the air, releasing a giant, high-speed lightning blast in the shape of a fist, which, upon contact with the target, generates a massive, sparking explosion.
► Lightning Dragon's Wings - Cataegis rushes forward against two opponents. While doing so, he produces a large stream of lightning from each of their arms, which, when it comes in contact with the foes, releases a high voltage attack and at the same time sends them flying away behind them due to the blunt force of the produced lightning. Such lightning take the rough form of a pair of Dragon's wings, thus the name of the attack.
► Lightning Dragon's Thunderwing - Cataegis sends out sparks of electricity throughout the air, which can then causes the surrounding area to violently explode into a thunder clap. This can be used to neutralize non-material attacks.
► Lightning Dragon's Fist - Cataegis engulfs his fist in electricity and then punches his opponent, causing, aside from great blunt damage, damage from the lightning as well. Has a chance to paralyze the target.
► Lightning Dragon's Claw - Cataegis sparks his feet or hands with electricity and proceeds to assault the opponent with a powerful lightning-enhanced kick or swipe, with the sparks greatly augmenting the power of said kick.
► Lightning Dragon's Jaw - Cataegis locks his hands together in a tight fist and swings them down onto the target, both smashing them into the ground and creating a destructive circular wave.
► Lightning Dragon's Roar - The Lightning Dragon Slayer's exclusive Dragon's Roar, incorporating the element of lightning. Cataegis gathers lightning in his mouth and releases it in the form of a concentrated, destructive blast, capable of destroying everything in a wide area in front of them. A side-effect of being hit by this attack is, if the target survives, the lightning has a chance of paralyzing them, preventing them from escaping Cataegis's next attack. ► Phantasmic Blade - Cataegis holds out one of his hands, as if holding a sword or other object. Then with his free hand, he puts all of his fingers together, starting from as high as he can reach to as low as he can reach. When he does this, a sword is created in his hand, which he can use to cut his enemies. Due to his main magic being lightning, he can possibly paralyze his opponent, and send lethal shocks throughout their body.
► Repentance - Cataegis calms his mind, closing his eyes and thinking of a sort of projectile. He then holds up one of his arms, hand enclosed in a fist. ► The Bolts that Scorch the Earth: Thunderstorm Finale - The ultimate technique of any Lightning Dragon Slayer. To begin this technique, Cataegis must first gather incredibly large amounts of lightning into his arms, causing them to glow with intense and incredible light, able to easily blind those around him. This lightning is then launched into the sky in the form of a large and destructive pillar of raging lightning, obliterating anything weak that happens to come in contact with it. Yet this is only the beginning. When the lightning reaches high enough, black clouds cover the sky, seeming to swirl around the area that the pillar of lightning stopped. Above the clouds, the stopped pillar of lightning begins to form into a large ball, gathering the electricity from the storm clouds. Once the ball gets big enough, then the fun begins. The ball splits into smaller balls, which begin to rain down from the sky. When it comes into contact with someone or something, it releases multiple lightning bolts, the amount of damage depending on the size of the ball. Though they can turn almost anything they come into contact with into nothing more than ash. Though he ball above the clouds is still gathering energy, and once it gets big enough, causes lightning to rain down from the clouds in the area that said clouds cover. These bolts can vaporize anything that they touch, leaving next to nothing behind.
► Lightning Maelstrom: Discharging Electrocution Fist - Cataegis gathers electricity on his fists and his arms, covering both in a thick layer of electricity. Once the lightning is charged enough, he charges his opponent at great speeds, releasing a powerful barrage of lightning-enhanced punches. Each hit discharges a large amount of electricity to the opponent, causing what seems to be miniature explosions. These punches are unable to be seen by normal eyes, at the user's arms and fists seem to turn into actual lighting. Due to the immense strength and speed of the punches, it's possible to release extreme amount of air pressure from the strikes, causing both external and internal damage towards the opponent.
► Lightning Maelstrom: Eyes of the Lightning Dragon - Cataegis creates a small, condensed orb of lightning in each of his hands, big enough to fit in his palm. After, he begins to gather more electricity, causing the orbs to get larger, and sparks to start dancing wildly on the orbs. Once the orbs have gathered enough energy, he throws them at their target. Even if it misses, the orbs bounce around, causing immense burn damage to anything they come in contact with. After hitting a human, or bouncing off of objects ten times, they'll explode, and vaporize what they came in contact with, sending out beams of lightning. The lightning beas are about half the power of the orb, and pretty easy to block.

When Cataegis goes into this state, he gains the above, and his whole body is surrounded by incredible amounts of lightning. Just being near him in this state causes large amounts static charge among others, even from twenty feet or more away.

► Soul Synch - Cataegis has the ability to grab the soul from purgatory (ghosts, wandering souls, etc.) and temporarily make them his ally. The soul will become a phantasmic being (still able to be harmed) imbued with Cataegis's main element (lightning). Due to this, the soul will be able to use strong Lightning magic/spells to attack with. If there are no souls around, Cataegis can create a phantasmic being (above still applies) which is weaker, and unable to last as long as a soul of the dead. They can only use weaker Lightning magic/spells to attack. These beings are not permanent, and will disappear either after their time is up, or Cataegis decides to send them back from where they came.
► Judgement - Cataegis, concentrating his magic to the fingertips of either his left or right hand, lifts it from below his waist to above his head. To know if this magic is the one being cast, his main element (lightning) will seem to "drip" from his fingers. When his hand reaches the highest point above his head, a small beam shoots from his fingers, before arching outwards and coming down in larger beams. A Magic which allows the user to manipulate the terrain of a specific area and give it different effects. The effect given may vary from causing the ground to crumble to manipulating the area's gravity. The user could even summon a mass of water and flood the entire area.

First, it takes time to prepare this type of magic for use, though it can be "charged" while Cataegis is traveling. Though if they use any kind of magic, the timer resets. It also takes a lot out of Cataegis, making him unable to do much for a bit. He can still move and walk around, but he's weaker than he'd normally be. The upside is that he knows his way around the mazes he creates, and can easily escape if the need be. This is the basic form of Labyrinth, able to be used almost anywhere (except the sky, of course).

Master Hand to Hand Combatant: Masters of unarmed combat possess the greatest prowess of all, being capable of easily taking on several opponents at once with ease. Some of them are known to employ hand-to-hand combat as the main element of their fighting style, and can overwhelm foes even if they are armed or larger than the users themselves.
Keen Intellect: Cataegis has proven to have some brains behind all of his brawn. He's able to figure out most things very quickly, or even think up great strategies. He can also play a great game of chess.
Immense Durability: Cataegis has a pretty resilient body, able to take being thrown through a wall or struck by very powerful magic, and still be left standing. Though he can, like all others, still suffer effects. Though he'd be likely to stay standing longer than others would.
Immense Strength: Along with very high durability, Cataegis also has a very high amount of strength. He'd be able to life a very large boulder, or punch said boulder into tiny pebbles.
Enhanced Reflexes: Cataegis has displayed extremely sharp reflexes and a high degree of speed and agility. Some would consider him as quick as a lightning bolt.
High Magic Power: Cataegis, almost like his father, possesses ahigh level of Magic Power, which, befitting his Magic and theme, manifests itself in the form of electricity. This can appear from his body in various amounts, from simple sparks, when he wants to intimidate opponents or is annoyed, to a potent lightning aura around him, which damages the surrounding area, when he's enraged. In the latter state, lightning even starts to appear from his eyes and mouth.
Enhanced Smell and Hearing: Cataegis has a nose that can smell things from miles away. Whether it be a person, an object, or a certain type of food. His hearing is also pretty good, so it'd be easy for him to eavesdrop from a considerable distance. Although other sounds can still mix in, he can manage to focus on just one sound.

Personality:
Cataegis is a man whose appearance doesn't speak well for who he is. The way he looks makes one think he's someone who keeps to himself, and is bored of almost everything. Someone who could never have fun, even if they had to to survive. But see, the thing is, this isn't who Cataegis really is.
Much like his element, Cataegis is always full of energy. He also seems to be able to bounce off the walls at any moment, due to how hyperactive he can be. Because of this, he's easily a people person, and once someone knows him, they'll love talking to him. He rarely ever seems to have a bad day, and even when he does, he still seems to smile through it. He also enjoys trying to guess how a person acts when he first meets them. Another part that makes up this happy-go-lucky side of him is how he acts at times. By that I mean he usually plays out scenes of how he would usually act, with dramaticized effects. He especially loves to tell jokes, trying to get other people to join in on his laughter. Speaking of laughter, his seems to be contagious, which is why he sometimes laughs when others are feeling down.
When in battle, his personality seems to do a complete flip. He goes from his usual humorous and happy side, to someone calm and calculating. He watches his opponent's every move, waiting for them to make a first strike of some kind. Though, depending on how excited his opponent can make him, he can do another switch. He'll go from his calm and calculating side, to excited and wild. In this state, he becomes an even bigger threat, since he seems to stop thinking about who to do, and just does it. Though he can easily switch back to his calm self. It just takes some self-restraint.
Hopefully to never see the daylight is a part of his personality that most would describe as Demonic. Only few have seen this personality... and none lived to tell the tale.
This is his... angry personality. The side of him that he doesn't like letting see the daylight. When he becomes like this, he turns cruel, sadistic, selfish, and insane beyond measure. His delight comes from the suffering of others, both mentally and physically. And he enjoys seeing his enemies suffer in this way. He provokes others for his own amusement, and enjoys torturing them in various ways. This personality seems to be more unforgiving, revealing the hidden wild side of Cataegis. But wildness isn't always a good thing. When the battle isn't going his way anymore, he becomes more like a wild animal fighting for its life. He becomes more unpredictable, and fights only to get away from his opponent. This can be very dangerous if you're not used to dealing with situations like this. Or even if you are, it can still be deadly.
Background/Biography:
Born to famous Fairy Tail mages Mirajane and Laxus, great things were expected of this boy.
It's said that the day he was born, there was a lightning storm, as if to signify what he would become. He was born not even a year after his elder sister, which caused things to be a bit troublesome, but his parents were able to deal with it nonetheless. It seemed that, while his mother took his older sister (Celestia) under her wing to train her, Laxus took his son (Cataegis) under his wing to train him. This all happened when Cataegis had turned three, his sister four by now. Laxus was a very hardy trainer, leaving next to no room for mistakes. But, even at this age, Cataegis understood how much this meant to his father. So he did his damndest to make his father, and inadvertently his mother, both proud of him. While Celestia was able to have learned her Take Over magic seemingly effortlessly, Cataegis had much more trouble. He always managed to shock himself, causing many scars to form on his hands. But even through the pain he grit his teeth, not wanting to disappoint. And finally, he got the hang of Lightning Dragon Slayer magic.
At the age of seven, Cataegis spent most of his time training with his father, going along with him on his missions to learn more about his magic. He even got to battle a few times (though then again these were B and A Rank Jobs, since S Rank were still too dangerous for the young boy to go along on). He seemed to have split from the path his sister was taking, since she went on these Jobs by herself most of the time, and he always tagged along with someone else. Due to this, his mother decided to try and teach him how to use Take Over magic. But, needless to say, this was not Cataegis's strongest area. It's not that he was too weak to use the magic, but instead he was unable to focus enough to actually transform. It was as if his mind was moving twenty different ways at once, being unable to have him focus on a single thing at once. People had joked that it was because he accidentally fried his brain one too many times. But, in truth, they were somewhat right. Cataegis was a young child who always thought about too many things at once. Much different from other kids, who were always focused on doing one thing. This made him unique, and gained the love of his parents even more.
Around the age of eight, he noticed that Celestia was trying to learn Lightning Magic. But it seemed that his older sister was unable to grasp this concept, as she had with her Take Over magic. Cataegis wanted to do his best to encourage her, but there was so much tension in his family, he was afraid that saying something would cause someone to snap at him. And so, instead of consoling his sister, he stayed in the background, watching. It was around this time that Celestia ran away, and Cataegis chased after her. But he was too slow and, once again, unable to do anything. He fell to his knees, watching her run off into the distance, fighting back the tears that threatened to well in his eyes. But he was unable to do so and broke down crying, found soon by his parents. He was taken back to Fairy Tail, becoming a different person. He asked his father to train him more in the ways of the Lightning Dragon, to become strong enough to protect everyone. And bring back those who left in sadness or anger. Laxus agreed to this, and so began the most intense training regiment that Cataegis would ever deal with.
It was also around the time that Celestia had ran away that his younger sister, Aria, was born. But Cataegis was always too busy training to pay much mind to his baby sister. Though at times of rest, he did check in on her, making sure she was okay and that no harm had somehow befallen her. He didn't want her to end up running away like their older sister, or getting hurt because Cataegis was unable to protect her. But other times, during training, Cataegis always showed room for improvement. Though he was much more powerful now than he was a couple years ago, he still didn't seem to be ready to protect anyone just yet. One day while training, Mirajane and Laxus got word that Celestia had joined a Dark Guild. Cataegis had overheard this, and anger seemed to boil deep within him. He was so angry with his older sister right now, making his parents go through something like this. It wasn't long after this that he began training again, and with the anger still boiling within him, he got much more powerful, and improved by quite a bit. It seemed that his own anger was fueling him to strive to become better.
But upon noticing this, Cataegis had to calm himself. He didn't want everything he did to be out of pure anger. For he felt that if it was, he'd end up much like his older sister. Running away and joining a Dark Guild. Fast forward a few years, and his little sister was beginning to learn Magic. Though once again, his mother had taken care of this, leaving Laxus to continue training Cataegis. Neither male minded this, since Laxus was always willing to train, and Cataegis was always willing to learn. Whenever the two of them clashed during training, lightning could be seen from as far as the edge of Magnolia Town, and sometimes caused storm clouds to develop in the sky. Both men were fully capable Lightning Dragon Slayers, both as free as lightning itself. When he was nineteen, and his little sister nine, he learned that she had taken down a powerful Demon, to claim as her Satan Soul. This impressed Cataegis, as it of course did their parents. The family all trained themselves happily, but soon, this happiness would come to an end.
A few years later, word that Celestia had been killed- no, murdered- had reached Fairy tail, causing everyone there to go into some kind of depression. But Cataegis... he was different. Whereas everyone else lost their will to fight, some even going as far as to stop taking jobs, he didn't stop. His mind had been filled with anger and sadness. Anger at the fact that this all happened because Celestia ran off, and joined a dark guild. Sadness at the fact that he was unable to stop her from running away, and could've prevented her untimely death. He blamed himself either way and, for it, training himself every day to the point that he passed out from exhaustion. Though his parents, knowing he would kill himself like this, stopped him. He would've argued against it, if he had not seen the looks in their eyes. What would he gain from killing himself from training? His parents would lose another child, and he'd be unable to protect everyone like he had once wanted to. So he stopped training, but took on many different jobs. It wasn't one right after the other, as there were usually a few days in between. But it wasn't as bad as he had been trying to train not long before. Everyone seemed to be slowly coming back to their senses, fighting and taking jobs once again.
A few years after all of this, his parents, along with some others, all took off on a 100 Year Job. Cataegis, deciding that his sister would be fine on her own, left the guild not long after this. He gave her a small charm; a golden rope with a metallic lightning symbol on it, and told her that, as long as she kept this, he would one day come back. After his parents finally left, he quit Fairy Tail, taking the vow that all those that leave do, and became an Independent Mage. He didn't get to see her train with her Red Lightning Magic, nor did he get to see anyone else grow. But it was here that Cataegis's true training began. He learned more Lightning Dragon Slayer magic, even some spells that even his father didn't know. He also managed to learn Lightning Magic by himself, making him that much more of a threat. He rarely ever went back to magnolia, for he didn't want to go back a weak man. He wanted to travel long enough to become powerful, and protect everyone at the guild. He didn't want to disappoint his parents, nor his little sister. He didn't even want to disappoint his deceased older sister. And so shortly after learning Lightning Magic, he took up learning Terrain Effect magic.
And now, Cataegis is a different man from what he was once in the past. In the short time he has been an Independent Mage, Cataegis has grown much stronger, feeling able to protect everyone now. Though he knows that he is so much more capable of other many things, he decided that he didn't want to reach these levels yet. He has been gone from his family for far too long, and became homesick. But this isn't the only reason he's returning. He has heard much about the fact that strange... dolls, of people he knows, friends of his parents, are attacking villages, and even guilds! So he is returning to make sure his little sister, and the whole of Fairy Tail, are safe. He only hopes that he is not too late.

~ He left Fairy Tail for personal reasons. These reasons were to become his own person, instead of being stuck as "famous" due to who his parents were. Also to become stronger by himself, not wanting to be another burden that has to be trained all the time.
