Duskmourne had been here for a while now, but still the place was strange to her, yet not. It was odd, her tribe was that of water but she had been woven of dark. The Water tribe often had to make many special allowances for her presence that the reset never required. She was the only one who drank blood, the only one who had light sensitive eyes and slept during the day, though only if she could. Everyone had been awake during the day so she didn't much sleep. Though she loved her family and the water tribe was also her home she still felt like the odd one out. Dusk couldn't help herself, or change how she felt. She'd desperately wanted to see this place where the others were like her. Maybe it would help change how she felt?

But upon arriving she realized how strange she was, she stayed up 'late' for many in the tribe and held different values. She looked like them all now... but, somehow she still felt out of place. She always focused on her recording work writing down everything she'd come across she never really stood among the others as one work came first always. But maybe that was the problem? So the poet decided to try something different, among her scrolls she left her mask. Just for one day..

So Dusk padded silently feeling rather naked, small and out of place. Her mask gave her confidence to be among others, she never considered her feelings when she was working, after all they didn't matter her work did. At least that's how she felt inwardly. She tried her best to hide it and hold herself in her usual poise.

It had been another uneventful evening in the Dark Tribe, and Viktor had started his nightly watch. He was grown now, trained and taught by the strictness of his father, the Dark Tribe King; Gabriel. Though there was still a lot the adult had yet to learn, there was something special father had for him, like his brothers. Viktor-unlike his light brother Trevor, he had no horn, and could not be an ambassador to other tribes. And not being of the dark tribe, like Alacard, he could not be of the castle guard. He was of both light and dark, though without a horn and wings...

It was a burden, he had known since being a young and wounded cub. His horn had been broken from him, and most of his sight had been taken from him. Though, in all this even as a cub he struggled to be like his father, though he despised the taste of blood and his body grew weak without the light of the sun. In spite that, the broken horn kept his dwelling in the dark with his father, his ears had been tempered for the dark, to make up for his weak eyes. His claws where tempered and sharp, and clung easily into the rock walls, with the help of his powerful arms-he climbed where he couldn't fly. In the hardship of life, a cub became that was a mixture of light and dark. Soon, his father would have something just as special for him to do, something his brothers couldn't not do...

Taking in a deep breath, Viktor took in the smells of the dark chamber. All the scents where familiar, and the sounds that came from the bolfs of the air where common place. Everything was normal....or so it seemed.

His single eye remained closed, as his face remained mostly hidden by the cloak of his hood. It was a item that had become very helpful in shielding his single working eye to the sudden change of darkness to light. Rough and callous paws paused, as he caught a faint unfamiliar scent. Lifting his maw to the air, the Belmont took in the scent though his maw and nostrils. It was someb'alam new.

Careful paw steps carried the Tahtll toward the smell, Viktor had been patrolling the boarder of the castle and it's garden, His paw steps from memory drifted him away from his path and closer into the dwellings of the common B'alam that resided in the caves.

Duskmourne padded though the common dwellings. It was rather silent making dusk feel more at a loss. Most must have turned in for the evening as morning would be on the way soon. Dusk strangely still wanted to feel at home but She had a job to do. Yet uneventful things were both good and rather unfortunate. It gave her too much time to think. Dusks poetry had been suffering as of late. She had many of cast aside parchment. Her large wings folded at her side her mind shifted to admiring the architecture of the common quarter. She didn't quite see the hooded figure coming toward her. Dusk accidently bumped into him in turn startling herself. She took a few steps back and bowed in apology. "Please accept my apologies I was admiring the geology." Dusk spoke in her usual rhymes. She could see the figure clearly in the dark or at least his cloak. Strange though from what she'd observed most of the dark trive didn't cover themselves in this manner. His face however was almost entirely covered Curious.

Victor's careful ear picked up the steps of another, they where lighter then a Tah's and softer on the hard stone that made the cave, what was more, they where mindlessly approaching. The Larger Tah halted in his steps, only to feel the Nan's body collide briefly against his own. The Light b'alam's body didn't shift or even move in the slightest at the collision. His cloaked head and maw only turned slightly to reveal the single eye that peered past the cowl. The faint outline of folded wings and a still standing Nan was taken in by faint sight of the light b'alam; as if to make sure she had still been standing.

Creamy tail shifted behind the Tah, as firm standing body shifted slightly. Giving the Nan a nod he stepped forward and along his path. What he could see of the Nan, he had not recognized her before-but that wasn't uncommon. Victor couldn't see that well in the dark, and new comers were not unheard of in the Dark Tribe. As long as she didn't cause any trouble, she wasn't a concern for the Belmont.

"It is worth admiring." The Belmont spoke in a surprising bright, yet deep toned voice as he continued on his path.

Duskmourne gave the Tah a nod of agreement. Unlike he she could see quite clearly. The beauty around her, she had seen some architecture from the earth tribe among the water tribe city but, nothing on this scale, it was truly impressive. "From this ground came the beauty all around." she spoke continuing to admire it the sheer magnificence. But admire was all she could do, this place didn't feel like home. It was ancestral for all those of the dark tribe. But she still didn't feel any attachment to it as she ought.

after a pause Nan Noted the tah before her didn't have any wings, how strange. From what she understood the tribe had closed itself off some time ago. Perhaps this Tah was a kindred spirit in this place. He must have impressed the magus to be allowed in without being a dark tribe. "A stranger to this place I may be but perhaps you too are as lost as me?" she asked perhaps almost hopeful she wasn't alone.

Victor raised a brow as the Nan spoke rather elegantly.

"Yes." Victor answered with a slight turn of his ear as he stepped aside for her to admire the structures around her. He wasn't entirely sure if she was asking a question or making a statement about the grace she saw.

"No." The Tah spoke with a flick of his tail. "I know my place and this is my home." He added, his scared brow raised. How curious, the Nan must have been really new to the caves to not know who he was. The Belmont, gave a little smile on his crocked and scared maw. It was a little amusing....but not unheard of.

The nan was a little envious, despite him not being a dark balam, there was not even a hesitation when he called this place his home. "Fortunate for you know your home so true, I do not seem to yet know my own." She didn't usually enjoy talking, but perhaps she was a little lonely without her family. She could help but wonder how they fared while they chronicled. Some of them too had gone to their own tribes. She couldn't help but wait for the time "Home here should be too for me but alas it seems it cannot, for a stranger I continue to be." Duskmourne lamented to the strange tah. Though beautiful it was still quite foreign far from the atmosphere of the water tribe. The city was quite lovely in the evening too but it wasn't anything like this. "Far from here I came, to learn of my kin all the same." It had long been her dearest wish to walk among her own, if not for her duty perhaps she would have left when she began feeling like this.

"Alas I have allowed something regrettable come to pass." The Nan gave the tah a a bow introducing herself. "My name adorn, is Duskmourne."

Viktor turned a ear as the dark nan continued to speak to him, he slowed his steps to a stop. A cream ear twitched past the cloak of his hood as she continued to speak in a very different way. It wasn't terrible, but strange in a intriguing way. Much like the unique spirals of the cave castle that his family dwelt in.

The Light b'alam's head tilted a little as her words almost seemed like riddles.

"'Home' is where you make it, and where you are accepted." Viktor told her easily, he knew where his home was-it was in the dark caves-though he knew it wasn't where he was woven...or carved like his brothers.

"Greetings, Duskmourne." The Tah nodded respectfully. "I'm am Viktor Belmont, and I dwell neither in the dark or the light-but this is home for me all the same." He added, with a faint smile of his crooked maw.

"I can only see you by the glow about our paws, that our Magus had so mindfully put in place for those not with dark wings. But I hope you can at least find a place of comfort to rest your dark wings." The Belmont answered.

"You will find with little comforts like the dimmed light crystals, our King has taken in mind for all of those with different pelts horns and wings may find a place here in the dark caves. I do hope you find solace in that, and look at it with hope and are able to learn more about your kin."

The tah had still been walking perhaps he had some business to attend she must have been holding him up. She might apologize and and perhaps see him again when he wasn't so busy. He had already learned the lessons Dusk sought it seemed and she took his words to heart.

The faint smile on his face made her think. It took a moment of Dusk mulling over the last part of his name before the shock set in. The usually stoic rhymer's pale skull pattern around her face began to turn a color that almost matched the rest of her coat and her wings opened a little from the shock. She's run into him, or he her but that didn't matter. She should have went to see the royal family first when she'd gotten into the city. At least she would have been familiar with the royals then it would have this embarrassment. Oh weaver, magus Stillwater would have been so embarrassed she'd made such a blunder. She'd just wanted to explore the city a bit before letting the Dark tribe magus know she was here. The Magus would certainly know now with his son telling him.

It took her a few moments more to once again compose herself again bring her wings back to her side and the skull on her face returning to it's naturally white state. "To meet the son of the Lord in this ward." she apologized to the tan tah. She really shouldn't have left without her mask. She was generally very focused but, she just wanted to be apart of the world here for a moment and feel like she belonged.

"To mine's eyes the lights are as midnight's moon." She complimented the city's lights. to her they were quite bright but as Viktor had said he could only just barely see her while she could see him quite well. Dusk gave the tah prince a bow of thanks and nodded "Perhaps in time this civil stone catacomb can become, home" at least in some form. She was still hopeful that she could in time. How odd wasn't it a dark wasn't at home in the dark capital.

"Lord, I must have you quite bored" she apologized.

Victor watched and listened to Duskmourne carefully, he could hear her wings shift a little-perhaps in a act of surpised as her next words confirmed it.

"So you do know who I am." The Belmont chuckled as she called him 'Lord', there was an amused smile on the Tah's scared maw. Giving her a nod, it was normal for those of the dark to be able to see quiet well in the caves.

"And yes, I do travel my father's streets quiet often, I am known to his b'alam and all-well most of the cave dwellers. It is my duty to keep everb'alam safe." He let the Nan politely know. Talking with a new comer was not below the Belmont, unlike his brothers-he was seen quiet often about the caves.

"I have hope you do, Duskmourne" The Tah smiled and kindly corrected her in her polite words.

"Not at all." He wasn't bored, but rather amused.

Oh weaver she was still so embarrassed, she opened her mouth a few times to respond but nothing came out. Dusk waited a few moments more for her voice to come; when it did, her rhymes had gone. "Not exactly, I of your existence from writings, but no more." It felt very alien but her surprise could not be hidden. But that was true, there had been celebration when the founding magus had children and so it was recorded, there had also been word of mouth reaching the water tribe of a third son being found but the chronicler's hadn't been fully formed and so that had been the extent of the knowledge available to them about the magus's children. There was a bit more on the dark magus himself enough for her to identify Gabriel, though the size of a founding magus was not to be missed.

He seemed very duty bound, and Dusk had to respect that. He loved his people and did his best to protect them.

"Thank you, that is wonderful to hear." She was glad he wasn't bored at least but she wasn't quite sure what to do now. Should she let Victor get back to his patrol and return to admiring the structures? or should she ask him to learn of the more important spots in the tribe? All the while Dusk was still struggling to find her rhymes again as the shock started to wear off.

Victor's ears tilted forward as Nan Duskmourne spoke about reading about him. Oh? She could read? That was a skill that he had yet to acquire, she must have came from a place like the water tribe. Tah Chaucer said he was from there when he would visit his bounded.

"Oh," The Belmont seemed really interested now. " You can read?" The Tah asked his head tilted a little. "Perhaps, you must know a Tah by the name of Chaucer." Victor spoke making a little bit of small talk. Reading, was something that he did want to learn how to do....

Hmm. A cream colored tail shifted in thought, as his single gray eyes remained on Dusk. His ears tilted forward, and curiously intrigue. Would reading be something his father would be okay with him learning? Would he even have time in his training to be able to do so.

Was learning from her even something he could ask, it was an agreement of good will for Chaucer to visit and pass on the knowledge...however, tragedy struck and he was never the same again....he seemed really disheartened after his loss....

he hasn't been seen or heard of Since. Nan Agaharta, didn't speak much of it....

Then again, she was always busy with his father's work.......that and it didn't seem polite to ask.

His sudden interest made her curious, surely it was not that uncommon. the skill had been spreading rather quickly but... "Read, write, word weave, we, my sworn siblings and I" Dusk Clarified before she continued "were taught and given many things by the Magus Stillwater." he was like a father to her and her siblings. she respected him greatly.

After all she and her siblings had been raised together by the magus himself. They had a very important job to do.

"Though I have a creed, I could still teach you to read.." Dusk offered as her shock started wearing off she seemed to begin rhyming again. "Witting is just as exciting, weaving and convincing words is my preferred." she explained she was here to write after all that was her calling. She would not change that for anything. Dusk had yet to visit the library, they had a library last she read. It was one of the institutions that were made during the construction of the city. She wondered what it was like, it had been on her list to visit.

Victor listened carefully to Duskmoune's words, his head tilted ever so slightly as she started the strange way of speaking once more. It was kind of nice to listen to, His brow rose in his hood as she went on to suggest that she could teach him and not only that but they were actually siblings. Sworn Siblings, like he and his brothers.

Hmm, a white paw moved to his chin in thought as it was suggest she was willing to teach-though he had yet found a way to ask. So, since she brought it up.

"Hm, I have yet to be thought to read or write." The Belmont informed looking at the Nan before him with his good single eye in the dimmed lighting.

That and he couldn't help but wonder what happened to Chaucher, did she knew what happened to him. Is that why she was there? To take over what Chaucer came to their tribe for.

"So you would be willing to teach me? Your brother had planned to do so, but he has not sense been back." Victor let her kindly know.
