Lilith Emberstorm
Lilith would nod at Annis without looking directly at her.
"Thank you. I am... comfortable... where I am now." It was unusual for someone to encourage her to open up. Usually people would just keep their distance and ignore her and she was fine with that. She would rather remain distant from people than risk being hurt again... and yet she knew that wasn't entirely truthful, for then why did she bother coming out here? Deep down part of her yearned for social interaction beyond the clashing of blades, but she just couldn't bring herself to do it. These people were friendly now, but what would happen if they learned the truth about her? That she wasn't even...
Lilith let out a sigh. She was beginning to dwell on her negative thoughts again and that wasn't what she was here to do. There was that bit the waitress mentioned about joining the guard, which wasn't a bad idea, though it wouldn't be to replace her armor. Despite its obvious wear, it had quite a bit of sentimental value to her. Even though she did not trust getting close to people, ever since she'd left her little village, she had striven to defend the downtrodden and protect those that no one else would protect. Joining the guard or watch might be a good way to further her goal, as long as they proved to not be corrupt, like the ones she had run into in the past. Despite her reservations, it was lonely trying to do everything alone.
After Annis had brought Lilith her food, a strange old Laguz had wandered in, soaked to the bone, even though it had not been raining. He seemed a bit out of it, but the waitress whisked him away to a room in the back. Alone once again, Lilith would sip on her brandy while beginning to enjoy her dinner.
