So I'm curious about others views on body image. I can't and don't hide the fact that I am an overweight woman. I fluctuate between 250-260 pounds. I'm working on losing weight, but if it never happens, oh well. As long as I don't get bigger, okay. However, I have always wanted to do things like wear a bikini, or cosplay. I'm sensitive and insecure in my self body image. So I'm wondering, what do others think of body image? Or even about this thing called "fat positivity"?

Oh me gosh! Me too! Girl I'm a big girl too!~
I weigh in at about 258.. I think and that's been the most I've weighed in a long time lol.
I've always been a big girl and I know the struggle myself.
For me I think body positivity is majorly important. I think anybody of any size should be love their body.. as long as it's not hurting your health.
I've heard people say that being around my weight zone is unhealthy for me but I need the weight for both my height and figure. As long as I can move and stay active then to me I am healthy. The point where I can't even get out of my bed or can't do certain things because I'm so over-weight that is the moment I think one would need to loss weight.
You can still cosplay even as a big girl, lord knows I myself am trying to find the money and the time to do it myself. Sometimes just pushing yourself into it is what you need to get you going. I'm sure you'll look fine if you were to coplay. Also don't be afraid of a bikini! My mom is also over-weight weighing in a bit less then me but she where's a bikini everytime we go to a pool! I myself want to get a bikini but my body shape wouldn't look to good in one with short bottoms.. I think I might get a high waisted bottom bikini those are to die for *^*
Good luck on your weight losing! I'm also dieting(somewhat) but it can be hard. Don't give up! I believe in you and am rooting for you!~ heart

I've got you all beat at 280. I've always struggled with my weight. I tend to fluctuate with my opinion of my body due to my depression. One day I could like and see myself as a sexy beast, the next I would myself and think I'm fat and ugly...

I appreciate everyones thoughts! Anytime I try bringing this up with my "IRL" girlfriends, I'm shut down. I actually had an incident recently of being made fun of in the work place for my weight. It isn't easy being comfortable in this body, but I go day by day with it. However my SO is always telling me "confidence is sexy" when I get in my moods of self hate of my body.

Um actually I quit it because it turned from verbal to physical and no one would do anything about it. I don't allow anyone to do me wrong in any way. Especially when I already have enough insecurities.

d r e a m i e cakes o3o Well go you!
I hope you can find a much better job than the one you had! Well, no laughing, but I have an interview at Planet Fitness tomorrow for a customer service position. I'd love to work my way from that, to working out there and getting fit, and then maybe become a personal trainer because I'll know what it is like to be overweight/in a body you don't feel is what your best can be.

-has a membership to planet fitness but never gets to use it- Hopefully that goes well for you. I hope that when you do get the job people treat you nicely. I know sometimes people in customer service can get some mean phone calls.
Oooh that's a good plan~ I bet you'll be a great fitness trainer o3o

Oooh that's a good plan~ I bet you'll be a great fitness trainer o3o I'd be used to nasty calls. I had residents during my CNA clinicals calling me all sorts of nasty names. Nearly got bit a few times, and I certainly got kicked a few times. I'm actually calming down from an anxiety attack that I'm having because I want this job so much, even though I never considered working there before last week, and I'm freaking out that I might not get it because I'm fat.

No one is truly fat, just well built. I understand your pain. You'll do great at being a fitness trainer. It's definitely one of the choices I've considered.

That's all. CNA isn't working out like I'd hoped, so I'm going for another dream I've considered. And one that hopefully helps my self confidence and body image.
