Character personality/history/TL;DNR:
Yes, this whole thing has to go under spoiler tags. You have been warned.

Whooo-boy. Okay, so Agatha was born to one of the greatest heroes that her world has ever known, and one of the greatest villains. She was raised for the first several years of her life by her uncle - another great hero - after her parents died and/or vanished. (tales conflict, really).

They traveled around a lot, and she never really had a home, until she was about six and started to break through. Most Sparks don't break through until their teens at earliest, and young Sparks often die. Female Sparks who survive the breakthrough tend to vanish, no one seems to know where they go or why.

To protect her, her uncle fiddled with a locket and gave it to her, making her promise to never take it off. The locket inhibited her ability to think and messed up her brain so that she wouldn't be a Spark anymore.

He left her with two old friends, the constructs Punch and Judy who were living under the assumed aliases of Adam and Lilith Clay. For a while he stayed with them as well, sometimes when he left he took Agatha with him, but more and more often he left without her, and one day he just... didn't come back.

Agatha grew up as Agatha Clay, having no idea who her parents, her uncle, or her other parents really were. She tried hard in school, always having a fascination with science but never showing any aptitude. Nothing she built ever worked, and any time she tried to think she had splitting headaches.

So she bumbled along in school, she helped keep secret that her parents were Constructs and helped them to get food to other Constructs that couldn't pass for human as easily. And life went, plodding along, until the day she was mugged.

A weird electrical storm, a woman in the sky, and then her locket was stolen by two former soldiers that had just escaped a flaming gun boat and a brush with Bang. She got away from them, but her locket was gone. She ran to school, late, hoping to find some comfort in the rhythm of the every day and the nearness of science. But the Baron and his son, Gil, wee inspecting the labs that day, and when Professor Beetle saw that her locket was gone, he tried to get rid of her, but the Baron ordered her to stay.

The Baron discovered, because one of the disgruntled scientists showed him, that Doctor Beetle was hiding a Wasp Engine - slaver technology of the Other, that he was required by law to hand over.

Realizing everything was going down in flames, Beetle threw a bomb at... well... Aggie thought it was at Gil. So did Gil when he hit it back and killed Beetle. Horrified at everything, Agatha was sent home with a Jäger escort. Once she got home, she tearfully told Adam and Lilith about her day, nearly killing Adam in the process, since she failed to notice that he was holding up an engine at the time.

Oddly, of everything, her parents seemed the most upset about her locket, and told her to pack. They were leaving. The first and only home she ever knew, and she was told to pack what she could fit into a single bag and say goodbye to it. Overcome with emotions and the day, she fell asleep instead.

When she woke up, she was in the garage, covered in machine oil, and a large clank was bringing one of the thieves to her. Before their argument could get very far, a canister of c-gas was tossed in, knocking them out.

Agatha awoke to find herself on an airship. The Baron thought the thief was the Spark who built the clank and that she was his paramour, she had been brought as insurance against his good behaviour. (And, knowing the Baron, probably his way of trying to make things up to her for having killed her mentor, because life aboard the airship wasn't a hard life for the hostages)

Life on the airship wasn't actually horrible, though she and Molach - the thief - detested each other. She made some friends, like Theo and Slipneir, and met a talking cat named Krosp who wanted to escape. She met some of the Jägers, and Gil gave her a lab of her own and made her his assistant.

Things were actually almost good, except for the part where she was worried about her parents - whom the Baron couldn't find somehow - and the whole being kidnapped thing. She knew she'd never get along with Zulena or Von Pinn, but she could live with that, so long as neither of them killed her.

And the wonderful thing? She could think clearly! Things she built worked! Gil even used some of her ideas, though that led to a hilarious misunderstanding where she was sure he was making fun of her behind her back.

And then she met Othar, the hero. He was trapped, reminding her that the Baron really was the villain, the tyrant of Europa. She tried to free him, but couldn't, though she found him somewhat pigheaded and irritating.

She later built something in her sleep to save him, but before plans could come fully to fruition and she could see him safely away... someone activated the hive engine that the Baron had taken from Beetle's lab. Agatha and Gil got caught in the thick of things, and had to fight the engine and the slavers and the queen, while the Baron and his troops fought the soldiers. Agatha ws quite shocked to learn that Gilgamesh Wulfenbach, heir to the Baron had not a single deathray they could use.

"Fine. So what you're telling me is that you - Gilgamesh Wulfenbach - The person next-in-line to the despotic iron-fisted rule of the Wulfenbach empire - have got no weapons powerful enough to destroy these things. That's just great. What kind of evil overlord are you going to be, anyway?"
"Apparently a better one than I thought."

They fought their way to the engine itself in hopes of destroying it, and Agatha was in shock to discover that when she told the beasts to stop... they did. She and Gil managed to hurt the queen, then they got into a small lab, and went to flood the chamber with gas to kill the rest of them and destroy the engine. Agatha and Gil realized that whoever activated the engine probably tinkered with the controls, and she crawled under the console to fix them. When she came out, and the engine was deactivated, he took a connector that had stuck to her hair, and slid it on her finger, offering the least romantic proposal she had ever heard...

However, while she was telling him why she was laughing, Othar - free now - interrupted, with his own (sort of) proposal.

Well, after Gil threw him off an airship, their argument was again interrupted by the appearance of her (adopted) parents. They found her, knocked out Gil, and tried to get her to safety. Unfortunately they ran right into the Baron and his bug killing squad. Which was when Baron Klaus Wulfenbach realized who and what Agatha must be. The last Heterodyne... and a Mongfish. Far too dangerous to be left to run around free, making trouble. Her father had been good man, but one Klaus felt betrayed by, her mother had been an evil woman who had most certainly betrayed him. He had reasons to distrust her.

Adam and Lilith helped her get away, at the cost of their own lives. She fled with the other students, and Zulena, who hated her, stayed back to guard their rear against Von Pinn, because Agatha's being a Heterodyne meant that Zulena was in her debt, because of family honour and history. Agatha fled with the others, who loaded her, Krosp and... OTHAR (how did HE survive?!) onto an airship and sent them off.

Othar was there when she realized that she was in fact a Spark. He tried to kill her, explaining that his mission was to kill all Sparks, and then finally kill himself.

She shoved him out of the airship...

Unfortunately, when he was falling, he shot at her, hitting the envelope. She and Krosp crash landed in the wilderness, where they came across circus folk. After some adventures with mad science, she was allowed to stay with the circus, though she wasn't trusted by those in charge.

She made some good friends there, like Zeetha and Lars, and this time didn't make any enemies. The actors helped her convince Gil and Bang that she was dead when they came looking for her - Bang to take her prisoner, Gil to try his proposal again...while taking her prisoner.

She found Othar in the audience in a show later, and he pointed out that she will always be a hero, that she can't ever just live a normal life, because she runs TO danger, not away from it.

The Jägers she enlisted aid from in the town joined the circus, adding to the confusion, but helping to protect them all, and keep them safe.

After their main route was clogged with monsters, they had to deviate to Sturmhaten, where Prince Tarvek and his father were looking for Lucrizia Mongfish. Aggie's mum. They found that Agatha's voice matched her mother's closely enough and kidnapped her. She was strapped into a machine, and they forced her mother's mind into her head. Agatha and Lucriza fought a war for the body, with Tarvek convincing each that he was on her side, while playing his own game.

A team from the circus, including Zeetha, Lars, Krosp, and the Jägers came to rescue her, but it was Lucriza they found, and she faked amnesia. When they got back to the circus, the Baron was waiting. In the mess between Lucrizia and Agatha for the body, Agatha had built a signal to warn everyone that Lucriza Mongfish is the "other" and needs to be stopped. It got changed to say the Baron was the "other" and turned the people against him.

The Baron tried to get Agatha to come along quietly, and had it actually been Agatha, she might have. But it was Lucrizia, and she used a small slaver wasp to take over the Baron. While she was gloating, she found Agatha's locket with the Baron's possessions, and put it on. Where once it had suppressed Agatha's mind, it now suppressed Lucriza, returning Agatha to herself for the first time in way too long.

Of course, she came back just as Lucriza had finished gloating to the Baron. He struck, intending to kill her, only Lars got in the way. In the chaos of the battle that followed between the circus folk and the Baron's troops, Agatha and Lars were at the eye of the storm, Agatha without the equipment or resources to save him. His last words were "Probably for the best, really. A Heterodyne Girl. Heh. An ordinary guy like me... never had a chance..."

His death sent Agatha into a mad girl rage in which she nearly killed everyone, friend and foe alike. When the Baron's troops were pulling out so they could take out the battle field from a distance, Agatha had to be hit in the face with a Spark created calming pie to get her to leave. Then with some hallucinogenic gas and acting, the circus convinced the people that they were actually the Heterodynes, leaving with the new Heterodyne daughter, on an airship given to them by their good friend Klaus.

The circus had to leave after that, for their own safety, and they chose to go to England. Agatha, Wooster, Zeetha, and Krosp moved on the Mechanicsburg because Lilith had told her to go to the castle for help.

Of course... that's where the Baron was taken to recover from his injuries... The empire in shambles, plans being put into motion by the "return" of Lucrizia, rumors flying about a new Heterodyne heir... it was hardly surprising that Mechanicshbug was on high alert.

Gil came to the hospital to defend his father, and a fake Heterodyne showed up in a pink airship and entered the Castle in as flashy a manner as possible. Agatha nearly leveled a coffee shop trying to fix their coffee engine. (If you value anything at all, never let her have coffee again!) Gil knew at once that Agatha was really in town when he was told one of the claimants had caused three explosions making coffee. He left Bang to defend his father, and went to defend her town.

Agatha, when she entered the Castle did so in the way most people did, as a prisoner. The castle was where the Baron sent the most irritating criminals, because it was sentient, broken, and had a sense of humor that tended towards the murderous. Once inside, Agatha's job was to fix it.

Gil found Theo and Slepnir in town, after the Jägers saved him from himself and got him patched up, and they entered the castle with Zeetha to save Agatha. Tarvek and a smoke knight cousin of his named Viola entered the castle theoretically to save Agatha. Of course, it turned out that the fake Heterodyne - Zola - was connected to both Tarvek and to Gil. Both of whom spent more time fighting over who was a better suitor for Agatha than actually DOING much of anything that was helpful.

Agatha did at one point give into the temptation to just kill them both, and then herself. But that was really more to do with Tarvek having an incurable illness that he spread to them when she tried to cure it anyway. The only way to be done with it, really, was for them to die and come back. The Castle was NOT happy with this plan, since it had accepted her as The Heterodyne and she had not yet provided and heir.

They got the castle fixed, stopped Zola from killing it (though she got away) and they set to work defending the town. Tarvek got kidnapped and dragged onto Castle Wulfenbach, and once Gil arrived, he informed Gil that the BAron had been wasped and they were trying to get the notes on how to fix it when everything went wonky.

The Baron got his hands on Gil, Tarvek escaped to help Agatha, Zeetha, Moloch, and Othar fix the town's defenses. Gil came back, not quite himself and tried to take Agatha away, to "save" her. She proved that she was a self rescuing princess, thank you very much, and they had another argument.

Of course, soon after, town still under siege, she manages to get herself kidnapped... again. This time by Martellus Von Blitzengaard... one of Tarvek's many power hungry cousins. He gets Tarvek with a posioned knife and gets away with Agatha through a portal meant to take him back to his castle. And it did. But the Baron set off a time bomb in the city as the door was activated, meaning that everyone who went through it (a rescue party followed right behind) was shifted forward in time a half year.

Martellus chemically altered Agatha so that she required his touch to survive and that going without for too long would cause tremendous amounts of pain. She knocked him out and re-engineered herself, transferring the dependency to a weasel. Not much difference between them, really, except that the one she is now dependent on is loyal, cares about her, has sharper teeth, and is actually useful.... Okay, so she most certainly traded up.

She escaped, managed to meet up with her rescue party, and get back to Mechanchsburg, leaving Martellus to the joys of Bang's company. When she got back however, she couldn't enter the city, and wound up in underground caves where what was left of her people had been living, everyone else frozen in the city, stuck in an endless moment of time.

After reuniting with Adam and Lilith, who Gil had brought back to life, Agatha set out on a quest to find out what happened to Gil and how to fix Mechanichsberg.

When the railroad she was on was attacked, she wound up discovering some of the railway's darkest secrets, including a demon train made by one of her ancestors that had been locked away - for good reason. It tried to eat everything in sight.

They managed to subdue it, and Gil and Bang showed up. Agatha could tell something was still off with him, but needed the help. Because of the railway having laws that keep it independent, neither Martellus nor Gil was given a chance to kidnap Agatha, but something they were building put out an EMP that briefly fried all mechanical effects.... including Agatha's locket. Agatha then tried to flirt with Klaus/Gil, pointing out that Klaus' personality overlay was JUST like the personality transplant she did to Agatha, and that they should work together to rule.

Zeetha, Violetta, and Bang got them all knocked out pretty well with drugged cake.

Agatha awoke in a train heading for France, to follow a lead on a Spark that knew about time bombs. The Demon train was transferred to a small harmless clank body, Krosp went off on her own, and she had fewer Jägers than usual, as they had taken some injuries and she hadn't been able to repair them yet.

In France she was, you guessed it, kidnapped again, but she found that someone had a stolen bit of her castle in the main computer system of France, and she gleefully took control.

The Master of France was not pleased. She was told to remove her Castle, which she did, giving it its own small clank body. He told her she had a limited time in France before she had to leave. She set about trying to find the Professor who knew so much about time....

Powers:
Agatha is a Spark. This means that she is charismatic the way a train wreck is, you can't quite look away, and even though they know it is dangerous and stupid, some people rush to help anyway. Sparks get a lot of minions this way, and Agatha is a prime example.

They go into the "madness place" which makes them stronger and more focused, but it also means that they forget little things like ethics and morals and the limits of physics while pursuing their mad science...

Sparks can build and create things that warp all known laws of science. The hallucinogenic gas and the calming pie were examples of what weak Sparks can create, Agatha is an exceptionally strong Spark. She has created small self replicating clanks while asleep, she created a coffee engine that made coffee that was mind altering (albeit by accident), and she builds portable deathrays on the fly. Her main talent is at adapting and improving upon the work of others, especially other Sparks. She fixed Gil's flying machine, while it was falling soon after her locket was removed.

With the Spark tends to come some personality traits that are more pronounced when in the madness; Megalomania, increased aggression, inability to tolerate interruptions, and a complete loss of perspective, as mentioned above. Sparks tend to be physically stronger and hardier than they look, and when in the madness, this is amplified exponentially. They can take serious wounds and keep moving, push past all limits of exhaustion until they finish their project of the moment, and move heavy machinery out of their way. (We see Gil, for example lift and throw a ten foot clank, after having been shot in the arm)

Being a Heterodyne means that Agatha also can Heterodyne (verb now, named for her family) which means she can hum an atonal sound that perfectly cancels out the other sounds around it, the person doing it automatically adjusting on the fly (as explained in the novels) however, prerecorded sessions of the sound can also perform the same way. For members of the family, it tunes out distractions, increases their ability to warp the laws of physics, and sometimes keeps them from the Madness place. For Agatha, it can quiet her mother when the locket is not present. For anyone familiar with the family, the sound is a give away that the person is a Heterodyne, because for some reason, no one else can pull it off...

Permissions:

Agatha's ability to minionize people is used as an RP thing only, with no official opt in/opt out. any character can be enthralled or immune at any moment as the player wishes. Just because she gives an order, does not mean you have to jump.

Unless you play someone who canonically has to... Sorry, Moloch.

Also the following characters are ALWAYS allowed to thread crash, unless I receive a request otherwise:
Any Jaeger
Any Smoke Knight
The Castle
Any clank she has with her

CR (Updated December 2017)

PSL land:
BILLY. Did I mention Billy? Sorry, guys, she has a new best friend, his name is Billy. And the wonderful thing is he hasn't kidnapped her, and has not tried to get her to marry him!

Wake:
Pinocchio - he is an adorable (and clearly deluded) construct that she likes and wants to help.
Leia - Reminds her a bit of Lilith.
Nita - cool science person that she could see herself being friends with some day.
10th Doctor - She thinks he's uncle Tick Tock from another world, and she's mildly irritated with him, it seems to be mutual.
9th Doctor - second verse, same as the first, except he gave her the idea to build the bomb then reverse engineer it... then threatened to kill her more or less if anyone got hurt while she was testing it.
Connie - Cool kid, she wants to get Violetta to train her into a smoke knight.
Link - Um... half the time she likes him... except he has this obsession with magic....
Sanji - She helped him out during the monster storm when he was a kid, but doesn't really know him.
Zelda - met her, doesn't really know her.
Shadow - not overly fond of him, but willing to accept that the situation wasn't ideal. (she was turned into a kid again, and he thought he was keeping him and Link safe.)
