Silverstar practically snarled at the toad that one of the apprentices set in front of her. What she wouldnt give for something that didnt have the consistency of snot as she ate it. She chomped into the prey disdainfully. Couldn't waste prey and all. She stretched inside her den and then headed out. She glanced over her deputy and saw him watching her. She had only fleeting visions from Starclan and so she couldnt do anything about BloodRunner right now.
Before the deputy could stop her she slipped out of camp. She would go hunting. She wasnt useless and in this time of relative peace her job was relatively the same as a normal warrior, minus all the other organizing and making decisions parts.
She let the damp ground squish up under her pads and sank her claws into the ground, sheathing and unsheathing them. And then she stalked through the undergrowth. She found and killed a snake quickly enough. Another toad was caught and she buried the prey to come back for. She followed her nose more than her mind at this point, she could smell the warmth smell the sweet intoxicating smell almost a mile away. Squirrel. She stalked carefully until she could see it. It was on this side of the twolegpath! It was theirs! She crawled her way forward and then jumped after it. It was a bare miss, but the squirrel took off. She pursued, across into Thunderclan and finally her claws sank into the warm flesh just as the squirrel was trying to head up a tree. She purred in her triumph. But a smell hit her and she froze. There was cat scent close by. She glanced back toward the border. She was a good way in.
It was their squirrel! She turned tail up and headed back toward the border. Hopefully she would make it across, no harm no foul. She tried to stay on the same path she took in to minimize the shadowclan scent but she could hear the cat she had smelled. They must be close!
