200 Years Ago You can not tell it now, but once this land was divided. Two races dominated the land, and despite the fact that magic coursed though their veins and that they came from the same source...they fought. Dragons would rise and Phoenix' would fall, ashes would cover the land and the screams of the innocent would drown out many peoples desire for peace as loved one were taken from them. Many tried to garner in an era of peace though traditional and unorthodox ways, though war and treaty, and dark magic. But in the end neither way would work for both sides saw each other as to different, Until one day the very source that created these creatures had enough of their bickering. A young man was chosen to lead the people away from this unending feud, the very land rising up against the war ridden races...and when the war was over the young man was accepted as King...he took a young woman as his Queen, and together the land of Epsilon was united as one...

150 Years Ago During this young mans reign not everything would be peaceful. Across the land Kingdoms would appear to challenge him and his peace, and one by one they would all fall to each other until only five stood. Zalto, Bellris, Phobos and Ethe...locking in Lionis, they all wanted the same thing, independence and Power, all of these Kingdoms massive in comparison to Lionis. The Zeal the Kingdoms had and the desire they had would have crushed an unprepared nation...but in this case experience won over youth. One by one Lionis would capture the fledgling Kingdoms. First Ethe would fall in the South, crushed by the mighty war hammer of the man's eldest Son. Next to fall would be Bellris, Taken down by the mans strong and mighty Queen. Third to fall would not be broken at the edge of a blade but at the end of a quill as Zalto saw the power Lionis held, and instead of facing humiliation, Zalto vowed its loyalty to Lionis... The Last Kingdom to fall was Phobos, and it was without a doubt the strongest. A thousand warring tribes united under the banner of the first king, Marah from the Tribe of Letho, clashed with the united armies of Lionis, Bellris, Ethe and Zalto. It was an even battle, and as the sun started to set on the third year of the battle with Phobos the outcome would be decided. The Wife of Marah of Letho in the midst of the battle took a blade and thrust it though her husbands heart, the war had taken her eldest 13 children...and in her determination she found she would not let her last be taken as well...With her husbands death, Marah of Letho's wife surrendered the Kingdom to Lionis, and once again the land was at peace. Yet the King of Lionis was not a cruel man. He aloud the Kingdoms to exist, they would have the boarders they formed when they came into existence, however Lionis would govern them all as the head of an Empire...and every year each Kingdom would pay tribute to Lionis; weather it was in gold, gems, swords, or food...that was the price for rebellion...that was the price for peace.

One Year Ago Instability rocked Epsilon for the first time in over 100 years...a mass prison breakout disrupted the Winter Ball...and in the chaos the Emperor was Assassinated. He suffered for a month until finally he succumbed to the poison. His son, a young man weak of body and wavering of mind took the throne, and it wasn't long until demons soiled the sacred Empire many had died to create. Many hellish things ran amok as power shifted. Upon the Emperors death the Kingdom of Bellris took its good fortune and broke away from the Empire, remaking itself "The Republic of Bellris", and not soon after horror broke The Kingdom of Phobos as the plague struck down its King, forcing its prince unto the throne. A coup d'etat lead by the former Emperor's widow and second wife, Empress Catherine, lead a revolt, usurping the crown in the name of House Elba in an attempt to install her own son, Prince Corvan, as the new crown prince.....

200--203~ The Empress ruled Epsilon for 9 months without opposition, executions were frequent, taxes were high, the underground saw more traffic then it ever had...however crime was low and prosperity was slowly coming to not just the nobles of the realm but to the peasantry and the other Kingdoms as well. Phobos became use to its new King, Bellris flourished under its new name and structure, and the slums were even starting to get rebuilt...however when you take a crown by force you must keep it by force, and goodness forbid if the "gods" aren't in your favor. During Queen Catherine's reign a strange epidemic plagued Epsilon...it wasn't a cold or a plague but it might as well have been one. During Queen Catherine's one year reign half of all the children born on Epsilon had no wings, and as her reign continued some adults started to find they could no longer use magic or change form. At the end of the 9th month of her reign an army marched on Lionis, lead by the Cousin to the late disposed Emperor in an attempt to get his families ancestral crown back. The battle would last three months and a day...Just as the Emperors Cousin was about to slay the Empress Ashes fell from the sky...blood would decorate the throne just as Mt. Adara would explode...destroying Ethe. We come into Epsilon now as Ethe is covered in Ash and Lava, the strange epidemic coming to an end and... a new Emperor sitting upon the Throne of Epsilon.

In the Past Five Years...
The land called Epsilon has seen many changes, coming in the forms of upheavals, reforms, tragedy, and so on. We remember the fallen, the human fodder for the flames of advancement, fondly, whether they be soldiers, victims of disease--politicians, plowmen, lawyers and men of renown--yes, so fondly as we count advances and triumphs. We claw our way from the ignorant stagnation into the light of our ideals, but it would be bad form not to give these events their full account.
It started with the coronation ceremony of the new Empress Evelyn Lionis. The war and the bloodshed that had sprung up so quickly was undone just so in that event, leaving a vacuum of lives and industry for many nations, most notably Phobos, Lionis, and Bellris, who had been playing the largest roles in the fighting. Things were peaceful, for a while, but it wasn't long before such a vacuum attracted a large unrest to the realm. What was once seen as a glorious beacon was now admired much less--the people of Ethe and Bellris, phoenix nations, were particularly disenchanted with the goings on in the capital, and only Zalto, likely thanks to familial entanglements, remained absolutely loyal to the empire--and so the military might of the central nation of Lionis was diminished by being spread thin on its borders and by the absence of Ethe, home of the phoenix of light.
Ethe seemed to boom at the beginning of this decision, having placed a large bet on their next generation--their obvious choice after the population boom in the wake of disaster--and sporting a new plan to diversify its economy, but soon again tragedy would rear its level its withering stare at the nation. For some inexplicable reason, massive chunks of the land itself started to fall from the sky. Despite most of the calamity affecting the uninhabited states to the south, nearly a million of the country's people were lost.
Distraught, the count, now regent, Dixon Titanus sought the help of deities despite his usual disdain. After traveling to the Maude and to the place where Agni would appear to her faithful, Dixon was dissatisfied. He and the daughter of the goddess Agni have begun to forge an admittedly tense alliance, working where they can to save their people's quality of life. However, the former seems distant and the latter seems rattled for the first time in a long time. Ethe saw a noble wedding when Dixon and the regent ameritus were married. It was an occasion many saw as a ray of light in a umbrous storm. Shortly after the wedding, though, lady Kai announced her stepping down as regent, leaving the work to Dixon. Now the leader of the nation, he has made for himself a new peerage from the ashes of the old. It is composed most notably of his publicist, an outspoken economist humanist over the place known as "Etherland," replacing the mayoral rule. Basina Marigold in the state of Antigone, the knight Hisoka in Palude, and the mysterious Esther Drosslmyer in Alluvione. The young heirs have been working closely with the former count, learning his treatises on economics, policy-making, etc.
Also making a leave was the duke Xerseis of Phobos. He vanished mysteriously, leaving his land as a gift for Ethe. The resources have shortened the border of Phobos, but trade has increased between the nations in a mutualistic way. The king of Phobos has kept up trade with Bellris as well, improving their hunger problem and strengthening their army substantially. They are quickly approaching their former military might. A high speed trade route runs through the nation and the top half of Ethe now, guarded and to thank for any stability in their economies.
Shortly before the war was ended, a foray was made by the Zaltan crown into the desert nearby, discovering the first angel to be seen in eons. This alien yet divine creature went to work behind the scenes to establish their former home. A step on this journey was to awaken their queen. Tricked into opening the coffin which held her, duke Xerseis fought along Dixon Titanus, Chusi Chhatrapati, Evelyn Lionis, and the god of justice to rectify the error, however...
A new capital now stands, and with their nearly limitless power, the angels have grown in these five years to a fully realised state. Zalto has been attempting to deal with these newcomers in a diplomatic way, while also quelling the unrest due to the curiosity of the new church of Onera. Despite legal status and a growing flock, people are complaining that prayers, unlike to their old gods, go unanswered. The government is moving to establish themselves, in spite of this, as an economic power with a protectionist policy and abundant resources and a growing service sector in the form of apothecaries.
Meanwhile, in Bellris, the former queen and councilwoman has fallen away like an old cocoon to reveal the transformed Delliria. She has been heading the country ever since, winning the trust of her people all over again. With improvements in water treatment and such, their economy is ticking right along, perhaps gaining the most from independence from the empire.
