She flicked her tail as if to say oh, stop, when Heartchaser called her pretty. It wasn't that Iceclaw had low self-esteem, she just didn't rank her attractiveness high up on the list of her desirable qualities. The warrior was proud of her speed and strength and strategy, and when she caught sight of her eyes or her sleek fur in a puddle she was always pleased with her aesthetic, but never felt it was a priority. But perhaps Heartchaser was right... she would need to be straightforward when the time came. If the time came.
Iceclaw purred a chuckle when the queen mentioned her kits might be getting hungry. "They probably are," she acquiesced, and began trotting a bit faster alongside her peer. Her mind also wandered along the same thoughts as her clan-mate, thinking of their future mentors. The warrior would love to take one of them as an apprentice, perhaps a robust little male, someone she could train to battle and fill up the camp with fresh-kill. She thought of helping decide a warrior name, and remembered the rush of pride when she had received her own. Iceclaw. It was a simple name, but it represented her well, for she'd bring death as cold as ice to those who dared to cross her path maliciously.
The she-cat felt her heart swell a bit at the idea of contributing to the ranks of their Clan. In the way she was proud of the kits who nestled in the nursery now, she was proud of the kits she had yet to have. They'd have names like Mist and Storm and Pine, sharp and powerful words. "You've added a lot of strong warriors," she said fondly, inclining her head toward Heartchaser. She could begin to smell the presence of camp as they drew nearer, and she almost wished to slow down a bit, so they could continue talking. "Do you think any of them might want to become a medicine cat as well?" It was a silly question, as Iceclaw knew that none of them had yet opened her eyes, but she was just thinking aloud.

HeartChaser just blinked at the other cat. She would continue with praise If she thought it would help. She had pretty much picked out Goosephantom. Kinda pulled him to the side and now there was the consequences she was dealing with. Eight Beautiful consequences. It seemed the longer she was away the more fondly she looked at the little piranhas back in the den waiting for her.
She nodded. She was already starting to smell the thunderclan camp. And she could hear that there was something like a commotion going on in the camp. But she purred in pleasure at the complement. "They will be as strong as LionClan warriors!" Heartchaser glanced over at the question. It was almost a fearful glance. "I would hope not...." Those words were almost a whisper but she didnt expand on that and let those words hang in the air.
Which she didnt have long to suffer the silence. She spotted a cat on the rise and an alarm went up another rushing back to camp. She flicked her ear. "Guess I was missed." She flicked her tail. "Wanna come meet the kits?" She started her way to greet the other cat. He just turned and lead the way back. There was an amused look on her face but the quickness of her step would let Iceclaw realize that she wanted to get back to her kits.
She ducked her head to the scowling faces and went to her kits. She glanced back to IceClaw to see if she was coming. They were fine, mewling something terrible but fine none the less. The other queen was looking hopeless curled around the 8 new bundles and her other four. Heartchaser touched her nose to her side and purred as the queen moved. She layed next to her kits and licked each one, pushing them close to her side. Yep, onekit, twokit, all the way to eightkit. She let a purr rumble as they latched on. She glanced up hoping to see Iceclaw coming to visit her wriggling bundles.

Iceclaw felt a little guilty as she noticed that some cats were keeping a watch out for Heartchaser, but on the other hand, she didn't feel bad at all that she had allowed the queen to get a brief reprieve from her already-busy days. Of course, someone might have been scared that the pretty she-cat was taken by someone of an opposing Clan right under their noses, but here she was in one piece.
As they walked throughout the judgemental expressions of their peers, Iceclaw found herself searching for an excuse to say to her clan-mates, but none came to mind. She could hardly act like a hero, having assisted Heartchaser in a scheme that was admittedly morally incorrect. But at least she had escorted her peer back from camp. "It's alright, she's safe," the warrior settled on saying, attempting to wave away the other members of ThunderClan with her tail. "She just wants to get back to her kits, now." Perhaps she'd have to shy away from questions later, but for now, the immediate conflict was solved.
And, oh StarClan did she want to see the new kittens! It was Clan tradition to visit new kits when they were born, but Iceclaw had yet to get around to it, so this would be officially the first time she got to set her gaze on the little things. She watched respectfully as Heartchaser pulled her little ones close, and she couldn't help a loud purr erupt from her chest just looking at them. "They're precious," she crooned, bringing herself closer to sniff at the myriad of colors attached to Heartchaser's belly. "They seem like they missed you," purred Iceclaw fondly, her cerulean eyes soft at the sight.

HeartChaser just held her head up. Afterall, there were no REAL rules about queens leaving the camp. She probably should have told someone, but that was more a courtesy than a rule. She flicked her tail at Iceclaw to get her attention.
"You dont need to defend me..." It was said softly. "We did nothing wrong, so they dont need and explination." She glared at anyone who would disagree before she disappeared.
She perked her ears as Iceclaw followed her in. She blinked in appreciation. "Thank starclan for that." She licked one of the kits. She sighed though at the second statement. "Yes, seems as if they did. I guess ill have to forgo rabbit chasing here in the near future... maybe at least until their eyes are open." She purred with amusement and glanced to Iceclaw. "Unless someone else wanted to watch them while i went to chase my rabbits." Not now, but maybe in the future she could enlist Iceclaws help to watch the little scraps of fur!

Iceclaw nodded at the queen's words, regarding waiting to go hunting again until the kits were old enough to manage for a few hours without her. She wouldn't deny that Heartchaser's actions today were less than admirable, but they were plain and simply, well, understandable. She figured she could suggest that next time Heartchaser simply ask another warrior to assist her on her outings, when she realized that the other she-cat was basically asking her. She perked her ears in excitement.
"I'd love to take care of them if you ever need me to," the silver warrior gushed, thinking of all the stories of glory and battle she could fill the ears of these kits with, perhaps even teaching them a thing or two about fighting to implement with sheathed claws in their play. Of course, kits were often taught those things by the elders, but if Iceclaw were asked to watch them it would be easy to say those sorts of things. She was purring a bit at the very idea. "Just give me the word."
And then, Iceclaw thought of the border patrol she'd been on when it had been interrupted by Heartchaser. She groaned at the idea of continuing, as patrols had just about as boring as watching grass grow lately. This queen's interruption was well-appreciated, even if it had taken her off schedule for the day. "I really should be getting back," Iceclaw meowed reproachfully, flicking a tail in her hesitance. "Thanks for giving me something exciting to do, though."

HeartChaser Mrrowed with laughter. "Oh good! Trust me! Ill be calling on you." She would be more than happy to let the other shecat watch her kits for a little bit.
She looked a little sad that her company was going but she nodded. "Yes probably, thank you for walking home with me!" She blinked appreciatively. "And anytime... once im out of this den ill show you all sorts of exciting things to do around here." She was always trying to find fun things to do.
