The universe used to be this vast unimaginably large vaccuum of darkness, dotted by islands of light. As man's advances in technologies progressed they managed to map and explore all of the nearby planets in their arm of the galaxy. They hungered for more.

It did not take long for them to confirm their biggest fears, that they were not the only sentient beings in the universe. In fact they were babes, barely learning to walk compared to the far more progressed species. After a few stumbled steps, a few wars and attempted genocides, humanity grew enough to join the galactic society it had discovered. With this acceptance of a larger order, a boom of progression occurred as intergalactic trade was opened.

Soon, man had expanded on other planets, terraforming settlements as more and more sought out the far reaches of the stars. After many more generations, humanity had become known as a nomadic tribe by other members of the intergalactic community. Very few still populated earth, but somehow all humans talked about it like they had only just left. Home, where you went to visit parents on holiday, but not where you lived your day to day life.

To many, like the members of the SS Tellus, home was where you made it. And being a deep space terraforming vessal, they were uniquely equipped for just that. Employed by the UNH (United Nations of Humanity), the SS Tellus was charged with finding planets, testing their livability, and terraforming sites for future colonization.

In this field, the SS Tellus stood alone, outclassing any other vessel. It was most notably manned by the top people in their various fields and the crew was on average a healthy 1200 hundred strong.

It is here, on this ship, with its crew and advanced gadgets, that our story begins.

Name: Kahani Elizabeth Kahar
Species: Hennoweo from the planet Alpliminee
Gender: Female
Age: 24842 light risings (Approx. 29 Earth Years)
Job: Pilot
History: Kahani's race are considered to be something like the Elves from Earthen lore. There are a lot of similarities, from their pointed ears to how they age in relation to their physical age. As such, she became interested in Human things, such as stories and entertainment, so much that she added a human name to her own. Having stumbled upon an ancient gaming system, she now enjoys playing such ancient video games, and has a habit of going through dumps or landfills to try and find what electronic relics she can find. This is how she came across Victor, her robotic dog. While she loves her ancient electronics, she's not exactly handy at repairing them, so she often tries to find someone to fix them for her.

Despite her childish appearance, she is something of an ace at piloting. She attended the academy, but was often criticized due to her appearance which resembled a human child. She persevered, and graduated with top marks. She is ecstatic to be the pilot of the SS Tellus. However, her hobby tends to get in the way of her job, as she can often be found playing video games during her shifts.

Job: Captain
History: Akue was once part of a military unit, used towards the end of a war long ago. His unit were once the symbols of terror, able to raze an entire city in a night. That was long ago though, and he now remains as the last of his unit. Akue retired from the front lines of terror and wanted to see the beauty of the other worlds, and what the galaxies have to offer. His personality is benevolent, matching his cute penguin-like appearance. Akue still has great destructive power though, and only uses it as a last resort.

History: Growing up in suburban fashion on Earth, he had a mostly normal life until around 28 working odd jobs and ends while going through school. Oddly enough one day he was invited by a friend to board a military ship as a guest. As he joked about the things he saw there, it surprisingly matched up to what really went on and people started to believe his stories that he was telling as jokes. This is when the government stepped in and had him join their ranks and gave him a crew which he worked with for a few years before being sent to the SS Tellus for being known as a genius in his field and the best man for the job even if on the inside he is bullshitting half the time and getting lucky as those under him do the real work.

History: He had been used as a hunting dog in his prime, chasing down various game and killing his fair share of the prey. 60 years after he was manufactured, he was discarded into the landfill, as he was deemed outdated. There he lay, decommissioned for how long. Then he found himself booting up again, looking at a young girl. She introduced herself as Kahani, explaining that she was a scavenger for fun. She took him back to her home, and somehow managed to get him working again. Having nothin else to do, he followed her around, becoming something like a bodyguard, constantly going with her to the landfills and dumps. Though he had no interest in her odd fascinations, he had his own duty to look after her. So naturally when she became a pilot, he followed.

Age: 4,000 solar cycles (approx. 40 earth years.)
Job: Galactic Consultant
History: Barbak has worked with the UNH for several years. Fascinated by the specie of man, he agreed to work on the SS Tellus to further his knowledge. His species is able to store vast amounts of data, much like an organic computer. This ability, coupled with his interest in all the beings of the universe, makes him an invaluable resource when voyaging into the unknowns of space. Should they come across an unknown sentient, he is often the one to refer to. Now if only they could get him to understand boundaries and personal space.
