Personality: Adventurous, bold, determined and enthusiastic would be just a few words one would say about Ophelia. She loves her job as a cartographer and though there are few women in with that job, that just makes her all the more determined to be great at it. Of course she loves exploring and will go into places unknown and learn the layout of the land so that she can make the most accurate maps possible. Her determined personality sometimes gets her into dangerous situations while she is exploring.
Back Story/Character History: The only child of two human parents. Both of them were explorers who brought her along with them. However eventually they wanted to settle down so that she could be more easily home schooled while her father made money teaching in the capital of Buin. Of course this was looked down upon by others, however her parents believed that women could be just as smart as men and shouldn't be confined to strict gender roles.
They rejected any marriage offers for her and kept her safe until they believed that she could travel alone. She was able to start at age 18 and now at 22 continues to do so. Her parents are still alive and well, however they are also traveling now without her, but they keep in touch with each other through their astrals.
She currently travels alone, since so far she has met no one else that takes a female human cartographer seriously and goes under a pen name to sell her maps. She sends off her hand-drawn maps to a friend of her father's in the city of Buin who also sells her maps at his printing shop. She knows at least basic survival and defensive skills and continually tries to perfect and learn more. She learned the basics from her parents and while traveling around has learned others from various other races. Although she takes a more defensive stance rather than offensive, choosing to run away rather than fight something to the point of well... what would sometimes be death with the wild animals she has found. Usually it works okay with Aolani her Astral who is able to fly her away if the area is open enough.
