I'm sure I'm not the only one who is trying to get a little healthier and drop some weight! What are you doing to get healthy?

I'm trying to eat a bit healthier. I started with cutting out soda completely, I used to drink a lot of regular coke, but I haven't had any soda since August 2014.

I also eat smaller portions and try to choose healthier meats like chicken and pork whenever possible for dinner. I usually eat oatmeal for breakfast and a tuna salad for lunch. We eat dinner really early so in the evening I usually tend to eat an egg salad sandwich (not exactly healthy though). xD

I also power-walk around the neighborhood, I take a route that's about a mile a couple times a week (though it's been so warm here lately I've been slacking on that). I also enjoy riding my bike when my knee isn't hurting!

I had lost a fair amount of weight, but then I fell off the wagon and started eating bad stuff again like a lot of candy and chocolate and peanut butter. :S Trying to eat healthy again now though! Right as soon as I get rid of what's left of my peanut butter.

I'm trying a Keto diet.
It works really well, but it's hard to stick too.
I can't seem to give up soda, but I switch to diet so at least there's none of the sugar XD

It hard eating healthy, I feel you<3

I like yoga a lot for excersise. It's so relaxing. 3nodding

Soooooooo i REALLY need to lose weight.. but i have some problems with this and i know it sounds like excuses and some of it is - i will fully admit it

but i have a weird food allergy .. i am allergic to nickle with is found IN food .. so if you look up "foods containing nickle" i am actually not supposed to have them or in a VERY small amount or i break out into psoriasis (i get blisters on my feet and hands) and i am sure there are things that are also flaring up that i just haven't connected the dots yet

it happened because about 10 years ago already i was like .. i have had enough and changed my whole lifestyle .. gutted the cabinets and started with all healthy foods etc .. well the overhaul of how much nickle i put into my system caused a SEVERE flare ... so not that i am not supposed to have such healthy foods i find it VERY hard to find things i can eat that will fill me up and still feel like i am not "just having a piece of chicken" i like sides! veggies and a starch or something

sweatdrop sweatdrop and as far as the gym i used to go pretty regularly but i started a new job and i drive 3 hours a day plus my work day of 9 hours.. i am already getting up at 6ish and not getting home until 6:30-7 and i try to have some type of social life so i don't really get there and i should

i also have this new back pain - since i am sitting almost 12 hours every day my core sucks a** and my back hurts which doesn't really motivate me go walking because of the pain

(sorry sounds like i am ranting!) any suggestions would be nice.. i already try to stay away from soda and i bring my own sugar free creamer to work for my coffee and i try to up my water intake

Congrats on cutting out soda and to eating healthier! So proud of you! Healthy living to me is dedication and that's what you have. I want to start this too, right now, I'm just trying to cut out rice cause where I'm from we eat rice 3 times a day (per meal) and nobody cares if you have second or third servings which in my case made me gain weight and that's pretty much the only thing I'm trying to do.

One of the most important thing is that.. do not starve yourself. This is a big misconception in dieting, people think you have to stop eating but that's not true, we have to eat a lot but we need to choose the right food.

Good luck to all of us! I hope to make healthy living a habit while I'm still young (25).

I have a bit of chub. I don't mind it at all really.

I just don't want to end up with a bunch to lose in a short amount of time. I watch Exteme Wieght Loss and My 600 Pound Life.
So I go to the gym 3 days a week. Walking to my moms house nearly every day helps too. It's like 4 or 5 blocks from here.
I'm a bit vien. Looks matter to me. So no, I don't wanna be all ugly.
Mom always cooked good foods for us growing up and my 3 sisters are health nuts. I'm the only one with a sweet tooth. They just don't like sweets. It's weird.
So I have an upbringing in good food.
I also can't motivate. So I go to the gym for classes. It's a great system really. My butt is already smaller and I went down a size in clothes.
I'm trying to figure out a reward for myself that is not food.
Soda I love. My mom is the driver and money. So no I don't get too many sodas. But I do walk 6 blocks to Subway for dinner a few times.

If I were left to my own devices, I have no doubt that I'd be a big blob. My mom and my wonderful sisters make sure that I don't end up that way.
I also have a goal of riding my bike when I can. The weather in IL can reach extremes. So it's iffy. I need to work up my leg muscles too. So I can't go far, but I can go. Also, my disability messes up my balance, so I'm unable to ride a two wheel bike. I have an adult tricycle that actually looks really cool. I love it. The third wheel means I can't go on bike trails and skinny paths.

I was recently put on BC pills to help with PCOS and I also have high blood pressure, so my doc said it's very important that I try to work on a healthy lifestyle.

I'm keeping it simple for now--replace all drinks with water and all snacks with fruit, limit portion size, and do some running for 30 minutes every day. I'm still trying to figure out the meal part, because I work a lot and balancing the time to cook is difficult. @.@ But I hope the changes so far will help me. I don't mind being chubby as much as I mind the health risks of HBP. I'm soooo freakin' paranoid of blood clots.

Try focusing less on the motivation but on the determination. What is your goal? Do you want to reach that goal?

Also keep in mind that you can't outrun what you eat. Losing weight (or gaining muscle) is 80% diet and 20% gym work. And it doesn't even have to be a specific "diet", you just need to be burning more calories than you're consuming.

Nope. No goal whatsoever. I'd like to get fit...but I'm totally ok with what I am now. Yea, I've heard many times that food is more important then the gym. But I just can't say no to food.
Maybe I should set a goal to loose my chub. See how that goes.
I just have sweet teeth that are hard to beat. Plus I'm on the Depo shot. Of corse, I can't blame it for everything, but it does make you gain. I don't know how much it contributes, but...

I live in my own apartment. I buy a lot of my own food, but not all. I do pick out the healthier options. My mom pays for Schwann meals and she cares more for health then I do. I do have two boxes of Popsicles in the freezer, for when I just can't cool down. One is Wieght Watchers and one is Yassa. I've cooked Campbell's Chunky Soup for the past week. I like salt, but my healthy sister says they have too much. I guess she would know.
I don't get around bad foods too often. I only have soda like once a week, if any. I LOVE those Skinny Girl Waters. And the Gold Peak tea is so good!!!
It's just too hard for me to resist food and soda when presented.
And since going to the gym, I have lost Wieght.
I did walk a mile and a half every day...but I really don't know what happened to that. Guess I could try again. It's on a treadmill. I'm bored all the time. Why not? It's a reason to get dressed...

I'm pretty happy with how my body looks right now. I always describe myself as an Amazonian Baker rather then an Amazonian Warrior! Ahaha! smile

I used to have a goal of loosing weight but I got really obsessive with it and it just made me feel like I wasn't good enough. So now I'm just trying to focus on eating good healthy foods, promoting a healthy mind, and healthy body. If I loose weight in the process then that's fine, but I don't want that to be my main objective. Right now I've been trying to "force" myself to like sweet potatoes. I hated them for the longest time but they have so much good stuff in them. D; So I've just been slowly adding it to my diet.

On a normal day I'll have overnight oats with fruit for breakfast, a baked sweet potato and a piece of breaded chicken, and then I'll splurge for dinner.

I started watching Melanie's videos on youtube and she's a really nice inspiration for me.

Healthy living is my specialty!
I don't know how busy everyones life is, but I do know it can be tough to make time in your life for some working out.
Currently being in High School I have a lot of free time, I run almost every morning so it's not too hot and before I go to work!
I'm also on a very healthy vegan diet! I understand veganism isn't for everyone sweatdrop but you can be healthier in other ways!
Try to cut out fast food! Its terrible for your skin and body! And lots of sugary candies and such. Instead of eating some candy have some fruit or some honey sticks! I like having tea a lot too. Just make good choices! I've been vegan now for 5 years and my grandmother is a dietitian if you have any questions about healthy living just hit me up!

I'm huge into healthy living, though I have a weakness for organic nut butters. Especially cashew butter, it's so good. I'm also Pescatarian, can't go full vegan due to a mineral hyper processing issue so I must have fish in my diet.

Pokemon Go has helped me lose weight lately, I walk and walk and catch pokemon and like magic I tone. Of course I also cycle and free climb, one thing I have found helps with weight loss is leg weights. I've found the Gold's Gym ones can be easily hidden under a nice pair if pants or a dress, and wearing them every day works like a charm.

The most important thing though is getting a good night's sleep, and developing a grape addiction. Ok good night's sleep is more important, the better you rest the more weight you lose.

One last thing, changing your life and what your living space looks like does wonders for your health.

Ohh sad how sad you cant go totally vegan, but i got you! <3 you doing your best already! I'm vegan, and i was pescatarian for some months, but just because i love fish -sighs- still love it.

Congratulations, staying healthy changes everything, more than we think before starting this lifestyle. heart

The main thing I have been doing to live healthier is more exercise. I walk to work everyday, and it is about 4.3km (2.7 miles) from my house, and then I walk back after. I also have a physically demanding job where I literally walk for 7.5 hours.

I have also been trying to watch my portion sizes and drink more water. I decided I wasn't going to cut out the things I love, because then it would feel like a chore and I would be tempted to binge. I tend to enjoy healthier meats like chicken and fish anyway, so that wasn't a problem. I refuse to give up chicken skin though. It's so bad for you but it's so delicious.

I have cut out pop, save for Sprite. I usually have one or two a week, but I don't find that harmful. I used to have 3+ Pepsi's a day. I've been sticking to tea and water mostly.
