POSTING INTRODUCTION We have a lot of issues with main threads in Barton Town and the way most guilds are set up on Gaia. The majority of these issues have to do with activity and making a roleplay permanent. You'll notice if you browse around in the roleplay areas, you'll see many small threads set up that typically only last a few pages. We'll explain why we do this and how it works in further detail now!
CRACK!CHATS You'll notice some threads that have ___!CHAT in the title. Often, there are very short posts that move very quickly. Please keep in mind these are not cannon threads, and certainly not the literacy standard we hold our members to. Crack!chats are OOC pieces of the community where we like to joke around and go off-plot. You may feel free to post in these even before your character is accepted. They do not contribute in the slightest towards the real threads happening. They are just for the lawlz.
SMALLER THREADS Instead of having one giant thread for each location, we have members create their threads. This means making a thread for an interaction where you go out drinking with your best friend one night, then a separate thread with the person who plays your character's sibling in the next. Yes, you can have multiple threads going on at once (for those of you who've got some spare time lately!), or as few as you would like if things are busy. This also means if someone goes inactive that you're roleplaying with, instead of the entire roleplay dying, you may brush yourself off and continue on with the next thread for your character. This is also great for 1x1 or people who enjoy smaller sized threads! So if you enjoy personally roleplays with few members, this structure is perfect. You have the options to plot and make plans with many characters, all while interacting with them on smaller scales so you aren't forgotten in a mix of 20 people all shoved in a single thread.
HOW TO START A POST To start a thread, you simply post up an introduction post that displays: Thread Location, Open/Closed (Open: Anyone may join without permission. Closed: The thread is for a specific plot, and only certain people are welcomed to join). You may format it and add as little, or much detail as you'd like. If you're lazy and would like a default post introduction to work off of, here you are!
