➳ What are they capable of?
- Akira is extremely good at both hand to hand combat, weapons and with guns. Her time in the military taught her tactics and combat in a range of situations while her pirate life has taught her some more underhanded skills. While her sense are better than a humans they are not so sensitive as a Suldari meaning she can get away without protective eyewear if necessary, though she still prefers to wear it in most cases.
Outside of her fighting skills Akira is an adept flyer, able to piolet and navigate ships. She has several contacts in criminal rings in order to sell their ill-gotten goods as well as purchase items needed to further her crimes.
➳ How do they act?
- Among the crew and fellow pirates Akira is generally jovial, full of jokes and sarcastic remarks. While in the middle of attacking another ship she is known to have a sharp tongue and demands order to be followed quickly. To everyone else she generally keeps a business like tone, though the occasional comment does manage to slip out.
➳ What's their backstory?
- Both Akira’s parents worked in the military and met during an Earth/Suldari co-operative training exercise. Almost like a fairy tale they fell in love quickly and passionately despite knowing their union would be seen as an abomination, especially among the Suldari people. They met in secrete and after the training was over went their separate ways. Unfortunately her Human father had left her Suldari mother with a little more than fond memories. Fearing the treatment such a half breed would get on her home planet, her mother relocated to Earth in hopes of finding a more tolerate people.
Her Mother gave her in Earth name as well as her Father’s last name in hopes of making things easier for the child to no avail. Taking on the traits of both races it was clear by looking at Akira that she was a hybrid. Suldari hybrids being so rare even on the generally tolerant Earth she was ridiculed.
As Akira grew older she quickly found she had the same love for the military life as her parents. Often ridiculed by pure Suldari's for her half blood, Akira turned that into her strength. She would show them there was nothing wrong with being a half blood by beating them. So she spent nearly all of her free time trying to become the best, however her career was ended when a superior officer threw one too many taught at her for her half breed status. In a rage she beat the man bloody and was quickly after discharged from service.
Akira was lost for several years after that, traveling from colony to colony, planet to planet, picking up whatever work was available to someone like her. Fortune struck when one of the ships she was working happened to be hit by pirates. With no reason to defend those on the ship or the ship itself she made no attempt to stop the hostage taking. However one thing caught her notice. None of the pirates cared about her bloodlines, nor made comment on it. They were there for the goods and comprised of a wide range of races and half breeds themselves and so asked to join them.
Pirates life suited her well and her military training gave her an edge in the combat department, as well as her Suldari half. She served for several years under Maxwell Dalton eventually becoming a second in command and friend. When he retired Akira took over his ship and continued his work.
