Elizaveta Synopsis
Elizaveta is a very practical woman. She weighs her options and takes the most practical course, even if it does not benefit her; especially when it comes to her family. She is not one to have fancies and dreams - or, if she does, she certainly does not show it or admit it. Once her mind is set on something, she will go through with it even if she has second thoughts. It is very difficult for Elizaveta to justify going back on one's word. Granted, this does not mean she always does so gracefully! Elizaveta has a way of making subtle rebellions against whatever it is she got herself into to make herself feel better if pushed too much.
She also has a tendency to be honest, almost to a fault. She is very straight forward and no-nonsense. If she does not like you, she will tell you. If you annoy her, she will tell you. If you smell terrible, you can damn well be sure she's going to let you know and move away from you.
Marrying into nobility has sent Ave into a world that she knows nothing about. Most of her life she has spent taking care of her father and brother, minding the farm, and being down and dirty. This new world of money, dresses, codes of conduct, polite society rules and subtle insults or compliments is something she cannot entirely wrap her mind around. She is terribly uncouth and unrefined and adding a shining coat of glitter to something (namely her) does not a noble make. Ave cannot stand wearing a cap on her head, the corsetry, the censorship and the lack of freedom. Frankly, she thinks her lady in waiting is a sadist and does not understand why anyone would want this life.
The only thing that she is relatively good at is keeping track of the household finances, and thus it is the only 'job' she is allowed to do.
The one person she would do absolutely anything for in the world is her brother, Nikodim. Though they are separated by four years, he is her best friend. She trusts him above all else, and will put him before anyone else.
She can barely stand her husband. In fact, they have said fewer than ten words to each other since their wedding night and she hasn't lost any sleep over it.
