Let us discuss what sort of tips, tricks, and techniques we use. What face cleansing products you use, what hand lotions, how often you use them, etc. Not specifically make up but rather the things we use before. I will be making a separate thread for actual make up.
For example, I wash my hands with anti-bacterial soap, then wash my face with this exfoliating cherry blossom face wash that has these little rock things in it, I use a dish sponge to massage and clean it off with. Then I apply aloe vera with a make up sponge with a little lemon juice added.
One would think washing your hands first would be common sense before washing your face or applying make up. But the truth is, for younger people just learning it might not be something they thought of.
Using a dish sponge might sound weird but the way it scrubs my face is really effective. I've seen those expensive machine gadgets that basically do the same thing but they are not cost effective.
Aloe vera? Isn't that for sun burns? Yes it is actually used for that too. But after washing my face I use it because it makes my skin look youthful. It also helps prevent dry skin. The Egyptians called it, "The Plant of Immortality". It is also used as a non-greasy moisturizer. It is also used to help treat acne. Heck, it can help with stretch marks.
Now the last thing, why lemon? Because it is a natural skin lightener. Not everyone wants to have pale skin and that's totally fine. But I do. I wear excessive black and love having skin so pale it glows in the dark. In many Asian cultures pale skin is considered beautiful. By using lemon it is something you might already have on hand. Lemon water is also good for you so it can be used for a variety of different purposes.

I drink tea to calm my nerves and used the tea bag to soothe my eyes while I am sleeping at night. I use shampoo every other day and use conditioner everyday. I put two spoons in the freezer and used them to massage the lower lid of my eyes. This video is helpful if you want to remove eyebags on your face. Luminous soap not only helps keep my skin fresh, clean, and smell good, but it also lightens the skin. I use Black Out Pore daily toner every nighttime to remove the dirt and prevent zits from appearing on my face.

I'm a hairstylist/cosmetologist (hair + makeup, facials, manicures, etc.) so my beauty/skincare routine changes frequently. The downside is it gets expensive, but hey, I look great.
I have unnaturally coloured hair (purple on top, blue on the bottom) so I wash my hair every 3-4 days to prolong the colour. I use Moroccan oil and professional leave-in conditioners to keep my hair hydrated and soft in between washes, and Batiste dry shampoo to stop it from looking oily.
I use mostly Malibu C facial care products. Sometimes I'll use Freeman's Charcoal mask, which you can find at Walmart. I love it. I wash my face and use a toner and moisturizer every morning and night, and I'll use a mask and gently exfoliate once a week. I like St. Ives as well.
As for makeup I use a lot of products I find at hairshows so I can't say I really know what brands or companies make them or where to get them offhand. Otherwise I use a lot of Nyx products. Some of their items are a bit of a hit and miss, but for the most part they're great products at a good price.
For the rest of my body I tend to have very dry skin and I have a mild case of psoriasis so I exfoliate and moisturize daily. I typically use Bath and Body Works scrubs and lotions. I'm particularly attached to their Raspberry & Sweet Mint scent.
Be very careful with using food on your face ladies, even if you've read a hundred times that it's good for your skin, it can promote the growth of bacteria which can cause blackheads and acne.
