×x T H Ex×xx Night Angel flicked an ear at Daiyu's words, nodding as he loped forward, his stride eating the ground beneath them. He could see the logic in her statement, but something inside of him cautioned him to ease her tension a bit. Outcast knows there'll be a plethora of fighting unless we can all keep our tempers in check. Still, Drez didn't doubt that she had been the focus of unwarranted attention before -- Alphas, let alone a female, generally attracted the wrong sort of souls if they were solitary.
"No one should bother you as long as you stick close." If nothing else, Dreznir's reputation would precede him. "Regardless, though, I do expect you to offer aid, no matter the subject's attitude. Sometimes we need to help those who would kill us as soon as look at us." The turquoise wolf slowed to a trot, coming to the edge of a wide river that hadn't been there before. Slitted pupils flicked to the other bank, seeing a group of Vileclaw clustered there. "Especially in times like this." The last was added as an afterthought, more to himself than to Daiyu. He was about to lift his voice to hail the Varsythe when ripples shone on the water between the banks. As he narrowed his eyes, he made out the shape of a slender fin cresting the surface.
...Now isn't that interesting? Dreznir told Daiyu to wait on the bank, that he would find her a safe place to cross the river. With nothing more than a powerful pump of his wings, the Alpha launched into the air, gliding effortlessly over to the shadowed form sitting half-submerged in the river. He circled twenty feet up, hawk-sharp eyes noting the Vileclaw's strange anatomy. Drez flicked a glance to the group of three on the other bank before he decided to investigate. Circling as he decreased altitude, the male hovered some ten feet over the river's rough surface, in front of the odd wolf. "Oi." He hailed the dark-coated Varsythe. "You don't seem too put out by the Flood; in fact you seem rather at home." A statement, nothing more. "I need to find a place for my companion to cross, and my instincts are screaming that you're an unknown danger."
Dreznir's wingbeats made ripples on the water, surrounding the finned wolf in currents of air and liquid. He lifted his voice and called out to the trio on the bank while he waited for an answer to his statement. "You three! Are you all uninjured, alright?" Normally, the Alpha wouldn't give two shakes, but under these conditions...Well, best to make sure no one has the uneasy urge to bite first then talk later. The male tipped his weight to the side and banked to the right, gliding to circle over the three Varsythe. "Do any of you know a shallow part of this new river?" The clawed tip on his wing motioned across the water to where Daiyu waited. "Need a place for my companion there to cross in safety." He didn't say it, but his tone implied that the wolf in the water made him uneasy.
The male clenched his teeth as his chest rose and fell rapidly; staying in the air was taking more out of him than it rightly should. Guess that Reverberation took quite a toll on me. Although normally, he could only speak to his Pack, so Drez supposed it made sense. Still, I shouldn't overly tax myself. Outcast knows I won't be much use if I can't fly or fight. Dreznir tossed his head, flicking a few errant strands of hair from his eyes as he directed his attention on the small group beneath him again, pointing his words towards both Alphas, unsure which of the two had assumed command. "If you three don't mind waiting, I'm going to make sure the one in the water isn't prone to violence before getting the female across. Once I do, you're welcome to join us as we head towards Khezid. I'm Dreznir of Riftclaw." Figuring his identity would be enough to convince them, the Night Angel banked back over the water.
He glided to a hover some six feet in front of the half-submerged Vileclaw. "My companion is going to ford the river there where it's not as wide?" He pointed with the hooked claw on his wing. "I'm going to wait here next to you, and Outcast help me if you move towards her. I would like to take you at your word, but as I'm sure you're aware, we aren't the most trusting sort. So once she's safely on the opposite bank, I intend to discern your intentions before moving on." Dreznir allowed the truth of his threat to show in his eerily-glowing eyes as he met the wolf's gaze. The Alpha held it a moment farther than comfortable before winging over to Daiyu. "Swim across here; the current doesn't seem to be as strong, and the distance between the banks is closest. I'll be right over there by that aquatic-looking delta to ensure he nor the three on the shore pose no danger to you." Waiting until the water was to her shoulders before sweeping back to the center of the water, Dreznir's eyes flicked from the Delta under him to the three Vileclaw on the bank, his sharp gaze constantly assessing for threats as Daiyu crossed.
His luminescent eyes rose to the shadowed silhouette of Mount Khezid in the distance, pupils tracing its lines and hoping his Pack were unharmed. :: I'm coming, my friends. :: Dreznir allowed his words to wing east towards their destination, hoping they would hear him. If nothing else, the thought of reuniting with them gave him strength, and Dreznir once more focused his attention on the situation at hand.
