As another wave broke against her ankles, seawater washing over her feet before sliding inevitably back, Lorata curled her toes into the damp sand and considered her work. The party arrangements were coming along about as well as could be expected, as far as she could tell. She'd made sure invitations had had enough time to circulate before the start date, she'd done all the hiring that needed doing to make sure she had food and decorations at just the right level of quality.
The trick, of course, was to make sure everything was perfect but still make it look as if it was just a quick, casual thrown together thing. A bonfire put together just over there, plenty of towels and chairs for guests spread around with just the right amount of distance between them, plenty of food. She and MeduMa had caught a lot of the fish themselves, because she'd been so excited about it all, but caterers had taken care of the actual cooking of them and covering the rest they might need.
Those caterers were gone now that they'd finished setting up the tables with food and drinks to be taken by guests as they pleased, because having actual servers around was still just a step above cute, casual get together. But altogether, it looked just as she'd wanted it to! Which was a very good thing, because it wouldn't be long at all now until people started showing up. So all she had to do was check off with the last thing on her list!
Where was Aerona anyway? She did remember she was pretty much the guest of honor tonight, right? It wouldn't be any good at all if she was late to her own party! She had to make a good first impression for everyone so they'd know to expect great things! Frowning a little, the seadweller made her way across the sand to peer around the area, half-checking if maybe the redblood was juuust out of sight around the fire or something.

"Oh, there you are!" Lorata giggled, as if they had been playing some silly game of hide and seek all along, and crossed the sand to meet Aerona halfway. She gave the redblood a quick glance over, checking that she looked alright, and then enthusiastically nodded her approval. "I knew that dress would look good on you! Are you excited for the party?" She wasn't entirely sure if Aerona was quite as excited as she ought to be, but she would give her the benefit of the doubt, because her friend surely knew better than not to be!
"You've got to be able to make people believe in you if you really want to be great, you know? And this will be such a good chance!" She'd probably already gushed about this a few times, but the little seadweller definitely was excited enough for the both of them. Aerona had already come such a long way from what she'd been when they'd first met, and she was so proud of her own good work. "You are ready, right? Any last questions?"
Sypon i'm so sorry for taking so long
