History Jinresh was an orphan from the cache, adopted as an infant by a single father who was infertile. He was an accountant, a talented mathematician who helped others to reach financial stability. She was very close to him, and she has many fond memories of learning how to fly by his hand, learning to write her name, eating cereal sleepily in the morning while the smell of coffee wafted through her senses. The little Chimera started a rock collection when she was very small, picking pebbles off the ground and crying if her father didn't allow her to keep them on her dresser. When the collection grew too big for her dressertop, he bought her a little wooden treasure chest, where the rocks went then.
Soon, other members of the clan learned that little Jinresh collected rocks in between coloring and playing tag. Books began to trickle in on every occasion, sometimes not even on occasion. Books about Cliffshapers, as one Aunt thought an interest in rocks might include shaping them. Books about geology, intricate stories about molten lava coming of age into igneous stones. Scientific picture books full of photographs of geodes and jargon about stalagmites and stalactites.
When she was old enough, Jinresh's father sent her to the Academy. He'd lived in the Chimera clans all his life, and while he was very grateful of his position in the clan, he wished for his daughter to become even more successful than himself. "I want you to write home as frequently as you can," he told her, as he caressed her cheek when they said goodbye. "You can become the best geologist the world has ever seen, but never forget where you came from."
Of course, that was not the last they saw each other. Jinresh came home often for breaks, and she became quite the athletic flier for a little one. She was best in her flying class as a freshling, and then as a junior. She began to explore the caves surrounding her clan's home, and found in little nooks and crannies the most obscure places.
One day, she stumbled upon a cave filled with giant selenite crystals, stretching from wall to wall. She spent the entire day there, a flame in her palm to light up the cavern, exploring and collecting little stones that had broken off. This discovery further ignited her childhood love of geology, and made her realize this was what she wanted to do with her life. She continued to explore the areas, and even stretched out to places around the Academy. The sides of cliffs became her treasure troves, caves became her castles. She began to wander the crystalline forests, finding inspiration in the formations the earth had created.
Now in her senior year of Academy, Jinresh hopes to graduate and go to Leviathan to study Geology.

Personality More than anything in the world, Jinresh loves to fly and explore, collecting beautiful rocks and crystals for an ever-growing collection. She doesn't consider herself to be an athlete, but the way she scours mountainsides and spends all day flying without hardly ever tiring, you'd think she was one. This tomboy can be loud, confident, and boisterous, but also incredibly affectionate, often taking either of her friends into a playful headlock to give them a smooch on the head. She lets her opinions be heard, even if they're against the flow, and she cares ferociously for her clan.
Although Jinresh is aware of being an orphan, she's endlessly grateful for the love and care her father has provided her. She holds great allegiance to him, as well as to the family that is her clan. She's incredibly respectful toward those of her race, but she keeps an open mind regarding members of other races. It's her goal to become a successful geologist, and one day perhaps even the curator of a natural rocks and minerals museum. But for her younger years, she'd like to continue exploring the caves of her childhood and collect and discover the most beautiful crystals and stones possible.
Regarding school and her house, this prospective geologist couldn't care less. The only thing that has kept her from dropping out of school to become a full-time adventurer is the fact that she is supposed to bring honor to her father and clan. She appreciates everything they have done for her so much, she feels she owes finishing her education to them. She doesn't enjoy most of her classes, finding them to be tedious and annoyingly constricting, but she's smart enough to skate by in most of them without even studying.
This young mineral enthusiast tends to be attracted to women, but she is bisexual. Her type is small, cute girls, but also ones who wouldn't mind her leaving for hours and days at a time to explore. Athleticism or a similar wanderlust is a plus. She doesn't have a lot of energy for romance and would prefer to focus on her studies and explorations more than courting others. She's often wondered if her father will arrange a marriage for her when she is finished with school, but it would certainly be an easy way out for her. He has encouraged her individuality so much, she also doubts it would happen.
Jinresh is friendly and kind, often willing to go above and beyond for anyone who asks anything of her. She frequently gives out gifts, especially of found crystals she's managed to turn into makeshift jewelry. This Chimera is hardly a skilled jeweler, but she can make little macrame knots around the stones she thinks would make the most beautiful pieces.
She's incredibly intelligent, and has a wonderful spatial memory. She has never needed to make maps of the caves she's discovered, or even mark where they are, because she can find her way to and through them at the drop of a hat. She has spent so much time learning and studying about rocks, and because the topic is her passion she is incredibly knowledgeable without needing to have a photographic memory. Jinresh could tell you the scientific properties of many different rocks and minerals, and even the metaphysical properties of a few.
This prospective geologist is energetic, and enjoys both exploring and flying. She does everything in her powers to avoid stagnancy. She almost always has a smile on her face, and is often the one to suggest she and her friends go out and do something. She's not satisfied to sit around and do nothing all day, much preferring to do something - anything - to get her legs going. Jinresh is very restless, and will often tap her legs in class and suffer through homework so she can go outside and simply just walk around.
On the other hand, Jinresh is also obnoxious and immature socially. She is loud, and frequently overly excited. She likes to talk in class, mostly because she is comfortable in her studies. More than once, the Chimera has gotten in trouble for passing notes or whispering while a teacher is talking. She's the type of roommate who would talk your ear off through the small hours of the night, simply because she has something to say. She shows physical affection overtly, often sweeping others into unwarranted hugs or giving them noogies, even when inappropriate.
Speaking of roommate habits, the rock collector is just a tad messy. A tad, meaning, extremely. She filled up that wooden chest gifted to her years ago, and she continues to fill up boxes. All surfaces that she doesn't have to use for schoolwork, walking, or sleeping, are covered in rocks and trinkets. She's tried organizing, but never decluttering. Every mineral she owns has a story, has an energy, a life force. She tends to forget to clean up after herself, even leaving piles of clothing on the floor when she gets more stressed out.
Jinresh is also very compulsive and reckless. She's put herself in danger more than once just going after something she's had an inkling about, climbing into close quarters in caves and doing acrobatic flying tricks. She's almost never without a scrape or a bruise. Relatedly, she also has almost no filter, saying everything on her mind. Sometimes she is too honest with her friends, and sometimes her brazenness can scare prospective friends or even partners away.
It's also important to note that Jinresh is somewhat religious. She likes to keep a small shrine for Oreia (full of the most beautiful stones, of course) and often prays to Her for protection and foresight before she goes on trips to unfamiliar caves. This is not something that was bred into her, but something she picked up on as a way to stay connected to the traditions and beliefs of her race shortly after the beginning of her senior year.
Likes: Rocks and minerals, exploring, learning, finding new places, sleeping under the stars, making new friends, the musty scent of an undiscovered cave, Nezubats, coffee, burning candles, warmth, the feeling of fresh air on her skin, the feeling of sweating, taking showers when she's been exploring all day, adrenaline and danger, showing off her scars and scrapes, visiting her family, telling stories, rain and thunderstorms
Dislikes: Sitting around, laziness, sitting in class, working on homework, re-learning things she already knows, feeling weighted down, quiet rooms, slow or unenergetic music, people who are mean, repetitive or mindless movement, mathematics, doing laundry, being alone, becoming ill, formal clothing
Hobbies: Collecting rocks and minerals, collecting and reading books about rocks and minerals, keeping a shrine to Oreia, flying or doing other physical activity, making macrame crystal jewelry. Although she doesn't like being alone, her many hobbies keep her busy and engaged.

RP Sample Your Nightmare has just woken up on a day where they have class. What is their morning ritual? How do they get ready? Jinresh awoke from a dream of flying. She was on top of her covers, a small citrine point in her hand. She recalled that she had gotten on top of the blankets in the middle of the night drenched in sweat, tossing and turning. But she wasn't sure when she had grabbed the little golden crystal. Taking a moment to just lie there, she rolled the mineral between her fingers, watching it with her big brown eyes. Citrine, she thought to herself, yellow or orange from traces of iron. Modernly man-made, heat treated amethyst. This particular piece had been gifted to her by a teacher her first year of academy, as a prize when she did well in science. It wasn't her favorite specimen, but something in her had caused her to hold onto it, as if it were a comfort blanket or stuffed animal.
She rolled out of her bed, leaving it unmade, and began to wade through the dirty clothes on her floor toward the dresser. The Chimera stripped, ignoring her roommate who was still snoring, and replaced her discarded garments with ones more fit for going about her day, slipping the citrine shard into her pocket. Although she could practically taste the eggs and bacon they were likely preparing in the dining hall, Jinresh opted for a pre-wrapped granola bar. As she threw the foil wrapper in the trash, she reminded herself for the umpteenth time to find a breakfast bar wrapped in paper so she could begin to recycle. It was a quick meal, over in a minute, taking the last bites as she approached the shrine on her desk.
The prospective geologist used the little fire magic she knew to light the half-melted pillar candle, chocolate-scented for Oreia. She rearranged the prized crystals around the shrine's centerpiece. A beautiful broken amethyst geode, a cluster of quartz, a tiny sample of the tightest banded malachite the explorer had ever glimpsed. She then clasping her clawed hands together for a whispered prayer. "Oreia, the Protector, Sacrificing Guardian and Unmoving as the Mountains, please watch over me as I go throughout this day." Jinresh paused, hesitating, before adding: "And please assist me with my math test. So be it."
Today was a Thursday, and Jinresh couldn't be more ready for the weekend. Saturday held a long-awaited exploration of a rumored cache with huayne, a rare blue crystal. If she could harvest any of the stuff, she might be able to turn them into beads. She was restless, and the very thought of sitting in silence all throughout mathematics made her want to squirm. Sometimes she wished she could scribble outside of those tiny bubbles, break their constricting walls with the graphite in her pencil. But instead she shoved crumpled pages of notes into the old ones already scattered at the bottom of her bag, thinking she might glance through them at lunch. Jinresh ran her fingers through her hair, not really caring how unkempt it looked, before migrating to the bathroom to swish mouthwash around her incisors.
Once she made her way out of the dorm, she only had a few minutes to spare before she needed to be in her seat in language arts. She saw a classmate, a Litch who seemed to be speedwalking to class. "Hey!" the Chimera called, a grin spreading across her face, as she ran across the courtyard to meet the other Nightmare. Might as well make the best of the morning.
