I have been reading many things on Buddhism and am right now looking for a sect to join, but, I have one problem. I want to learn about Taoism. Personally I would like to intertwine it with Buddhism, but I have heard of sects that merge with it and would like to learn about them. A descrpition in another thread on this forum has been helpful but where can I learn more about the different sects? (What I mean by that is, delve more into the sects and more detailed, right now I am looking for the one I stated befre, Mahayatana, and Therevada, but I am not sure)

I strongly recommend starting in the link list of this forum; there's several very helpful websites there - some maintained by practitioners, others by actual monks. smile

I've just recently read the Tao of Pooh and the Te of Piglet.
I found them quite delightful !

While delightful, the Tao of Pooh and Te of Piglet are watered down Western attempts at Taoism - fluffy and nice, but not all that great for actually teaching Taoism.

They're a nice jump point, but the Tao Te Ching (Or Dao De Jing, depending on who's typing) by Lao Tzu is THE definitive work. To understand, go to it. 3nodding
