The day was quiet and school had let out, so Isonoe had decided to go outside to get some fresh air. Thankfully, the air was fresh and there was only a light breeze that just barely ruffled the ends of her fur. She had brought her notebook with her today, hoping that the beautiful weather would inspire her to draw something. Lately, she had been having terrible writer's block and no matter what she did she couldn't seem to get out of it. Her publicist wasn't very happy with her and had been breathing down her back. She could only assume that the stress of school had been keeping her from being able to do any work. She wasn't quite sure what had possessed her to think she could keep up with both work and school at the same time.
Usually, she would have thought it was no problem, but life hadn't been exactly going the way she had thought it would when she came from the Swirling Sands. Things had been much easier there. She had a become a popular manga artist and her job had taken off since there wasn't a whole lot of competition. She had come to Grendal in hopes of honing in on her skills and making herself able to stand up to all the Graphic Artists in this part of the world, but she was finding it harder than she thought it might be. The market here was practically cornered, no one really wanted to employ an artist they had never heard of. Her publicist from the Swirling Sands was still willing to publish her for all the people back home, but it hardly paid for her schooling much less food or other necessities. The stress was really beginning to get to her and she couldn't help but wonder if she should just back up and leave.Strawberri Stardust I hope the opening is good enough! I wasn't quite sure where to start/what the opening scene should be. xD Also, sorry for the double quote.

While Pallas was usually happy to stay inside and help with the theater groups, today was just too nice to pass up. She had come outside a little bit ago, intending to just relax for once. Life as an aspiring actress wasn't quite the dream life she had entertained as a kid. Coming to Grendel to study had been Part One of her Big Plan. She had even checked off next to the picture of the university on her dream board. Part Two was to get an acting job.
Okay, so that had been wishful thinking on the part of her Freshling self. It was hard to keep up with auditions and classwork. Some days were harder than others and she treasured the days like this one. Currently she was sprawled on the grass, leaning back on her hands with her legs stretched out in front of her and crossed at the ankle. The sun was pleasantly warm on her skin and fur and she had her face raised to the light, eyes closed and a content smile on her face.Koiasi Sorry it took me so long ;w; Your opening is great! <3

Isonoe couldn't help but sigh at the couple of attempts she had made. All of the sketches were very uninspired and she knew her publicist would never print it. She shook her head at herself, putting her pen down. There had to be a way to de-stress, though hell if she knew how she'd accomplish that. She shut her book and looked up toward the sky, watching the clouds for a moment before she glanced down and saw a woman about her age sitting on the grass. She smiled a little, though she was a bit unsure how to start a conversation, especially since she seemed a bit at peace in the sun.
Isonoe nibbled her lip, and pulled her things neatly into her backpack before getting up from the bench she was sitting on. She very quietly walked toward the girl and did the only thing she could think of, hoping some conversation would help her lack of muse, "I hope you don't mind me bugging you, I just saw you over here alone and I thought I'd say hi since I'm new to Grendel." She hoped the introduction wasn't creepy.

Pallas startled a little when she heard a voice nearby. She hadn't heard anyone come up, but she smiled and laughed a little at the Bakeneko that stood next to her. "You scared me," she said with a smile. "I don't mind one bit, hon. You wanna sit with me for a while? I'm Pallas, by the way, welcome to Grendel." The Imp grinned up at her and patted a spot in the grass next to her. "What are you here to study?" She hadn't met many of the new races that came from the desert, and she was curious about them but she wasn't rude enough to to be quite that nosy.

Isonoe felt some relief come over her when the other girl seemed unphased by her introduction. She smiled, pushing a few curls out of her face and gently sat down in the designated space. "It's nice to meet you, Pallas, I'm Isonoe." She pulled her knees to her chest, her arms wrapping around them. "Thank you! It's a lot more work here than I thought it'd be." She admitted sheepishly. "I'm actually here for an art degree. We didn't exactly have colleges where I came from so I was already pretty established there, but here they want a degree for a lot of things." She hoped it wouldn't continue to be this hard, she really needed a break.
