"A papoose...? You'll have to show me, maybe with a demonstration." Callum had seen slings that kept the infant close to it's mother, they had those in Sauti, but he suspected in Zena one wouldn't be able to find the baby beneath layer upon layer of cloth. It didn't help that imagining a small infant strapped to his rather large lover was possibly the most adorable image Callum could have ever concocted.
The shifter went easily with his lover's tug, and stepped seamlessly into those all encompassing arms. "How do you think Morrigan will react?...or Faulina?"

For Nim, the promise of having a home of their own to raise their child in was... a huge step, both personally and as a couple. Their entire relationship had been based on their wandering feet, so to settle down was... admittedly a bit difficult. But it was what was best for their future (confirmed ) child, and... for that Nim was willing to put his ambitions on the back burner. A part of him had longed to travel further... to Oba, Matori maybe, even the new island of Yael to investigate the geology there but- but this?
There was no way he could pass this up, and he had no desire to.
Well, honestly, he'd never used one himself, but he'd seen plenty of parents in Zena with one and it seemed like the best option for carrying their little one. They would be warmed both by body heat, and the sling around them, and would be kept close. He had been regaled, back home, with how important it was to keep their baby close, to give them plenty of affection while they were young.
Their familiars... well. Nim still felt intimidated by Faulina's new size, with how massive the bird was, and Morrigan had grown rapidly, and was nearing her adult size. Even now, he knew she was amusing herself with all the reintroduced smells and sights of Jauhar, and was nearby. How would the beast react to a child? "... Well, if we introduce them slowly then... maybe it won't be too bad of a shock to them?" He suggested, hopefully, shaking his head and dipping down to kiss the top of Callum's damp hair. "Morrigan can stay outside sometimes, but she gets grumpy when it gets too cold so... mm. I didn't think about that, honestly..."

"...I hope not. I really want them to get along." Callum knew precisely why Faulina disliked women (his mother hadn't been kind to the avian at all), so would she take to his child, if she happened to be a girl? They would just have to go about this slowly; let their familiars know that while they wouldn't be loved any less, there was a new member to the family and the little one came first.
"No, I want Morrigan inside." Callum leaned up to place a nibbly peck to Nim's jawline. "We just won't leave her alone with the baby, but keeping her away won't help anything. Besides, this way they'll grow up close to one another." Granted, he couldn't speak for Faulina. The kinfa was no longer small enough to be permitted indoors, but so long as she had a warm place to sleep at night the avian didn't seem to mind. Callum would have to build something for her, if there was none already; something close to the house, but far enough away so that any small children wouldn't be tempted to go to close to her nest.
"I know we should go tell grandmother, but-" He hooked his fingers in the waistband of his partner's pants and pulled him close. "-I want to keep you to myself for a while. When we're ready we can go see Eema, so you can check on her yourself, or we could go now..." Even though he said it like an option, there was a clear pout to Callum's voice. Glee or not, it had been months since he'd last seen his lover and a man had needs.

Oh, well... it was hard to focus on conversation when Callum did things like this! He was speaking so practically, making plans about their familiar partners, but he leaned in so deliciously close and the attack on his jaw sent shivers down his sides, prickling his skin in a more intimate way than the cool of the lake had.
Peeking down at his lover with interest, Nim raised his eyebrow, and thoughtfully bit the edge of his lip, drawing his hands down from Callum's hair, to instead loop around his middle, a hand resting on the small of his back. "Hmm. I don't know-- maybe we should go check on her...?" Nim hummed, voice raising innocently. Then, unable to keep up the pretense, he instead ducked his head and stole a quick kiss. "Or I could keep you all to myself, for a bit. I think she's had enough of your time." Even if it was necessary, and had resulted in the miracle that was their future child, Nimueh couldn't keep the shred of jealousy out of his voice.

Callum loved to watch Nim nibble on his lip, but would have much preferred if that same attention was paid to his own instead. He traced the edge of his lip ring subconsciously, watching the contour of his lover's lips before realizing said lips were forming words he should have been paying attention to.
He didn't really mean...? Well, Callum supposed they really should check on her, since the woman was carrying their child, but he'd hoped- Callum's eyes widened in surprise a half second before he grinned devilishly and stood up on his tip toes to wrap his arms around his lover's shoulders. "Never again, love; from here on out in this area of our lives I'm all yours. The rest we'll be sharing with our child, but for now...I'm not sharing with anyone."
Soon enough their lives would be ruled by a little bundle of arms, legs and gummy kisses, but for now Callum was simply a man with a desire to show his lover how much he had been missed.
