After reading a year old topic of old skill assessments. I noticed something that has been sticking in my mind for the past two days. Chrono said I should give up the Draze Character. I've been pondering it for a while, but I first want opinions of everyone else. Because lets face it. I haven't just been Draze since I started on Gaia. I've been Draze since i was like 9 years old.I've tried some ideas with him that have been great such as the High flying Heavyweight and some of the move repertoire, match ideas and fun matches and storyline ideas. I've also made some bad calls with the character like making him heel in 2010 and giving him a whiny gimmick to go with it. But I'm really stumped. What are your thoughts guys?

If you're bored of using him, stop using him.
If you still think there's more you can do with him, keep going.
It doesn't matter what character you use, it all comes down to if you even want to be RPing or not.

It's your character, therefore it should be your decision, after all. Personally, I think almost any character can bounce back from something that might be regretted. If you want to keep using Draze, you go ahead and do so. If you want to try something new, put him aside and try something new. But like I said, ultimately, it's up to you.

Draze, you and I have been together the same amount of time. Let me just tell you, it's impossible for me to let go of the AJ Warner character. It's who I'm most comfortable with, who I've developed, who I'm known for.
Granted, I've tried to get comfortable with secondary characters. Jake Roman wasn't too far off from AJ, so I went a different direction with Renegade Young, who I am absolutely comfortable with. But those weren't the first two secondary characters I tried by any means.
If you're comfortable with Draze and you're not exactly comfortable with McKay, stick with Draze. I'd highly recommend coming up with multiple secondary characters though to find other gimmicks and fighting styles you may be comfortable with.

That isn't necessarily an assessment of skill, however. More of a recommendation that you can take or pass on.
If you think there's more you can do with the character, then keep working on him.
Otherwise, if you're burnt out, try something new.

If you're out of ideas for the Draze character, a new character may help, but as others have said it's what do you want to do?! Like you, I made changes to the Cartwright character over time, depending on what fed he's in, storyline etc to keep it fresh! If you think you have an idea that can rejuvenate Draze and you still want to write as him, go for it!

For the record, I said
"At the time being you should consider putting Draze on the shelf, and focus on your other characters because 'I' feel that you are slipping and forcing yourself to play him and it shows'
and then there was this whole tirade about me having no right to criticize you and blah blah and we're not getting to that
and yes I agree, I have no 'right' but you have to ask yourself, what stories do you as a person have to tell for a character you are forcing yourself to play
I said 2010 was your year, because you were hungry, motivated and your skills were at an all time high, but throughout the year it slowly dwindled. Whether it's real life s**t, depression or whatever the cause.
I can tell you aren't as motivated as you were then, so I figured maybe playing someone new or someone who hasn't had the achievements and accomplishments that Draze the character has had would possibly renew that motivation and drive.
In the end we're all trying to have fun, but if you're forcing yourself, are you having fun?
