Yī did not think she was doing too bad.
Her life had suddenly been turned into one huge MMO - but she was not doing too bad!
That is how she had come to rationalise all this magical mombo jumbo. You fought the bad guys to get XP so you could eventually upgrade? Where as the bad guys got their XP from being general assholes as well as draining civilians life force.
You had all kinds of Guild running around, all with unique traits and every so often they clashed or invaded each others turf. There was also, behind the scenes, some strong as hell NPC's - meet one of those too early and it was game over.
No second chances; no phoenix down, dead as a dodo.
In many ways she was her patrol as a long grinding season, a chance to get her techniques down in time for the next Guild War. So here she was, hunting for loot and XP on the streets of Destiny City.
The Kitsune-esque senshi was making her way through the park once more, hoping that her aura was enough to lead someone into the open. She needed to get working towards that upgrade.

The park was not one of Wolfeite's normal haunts, but it was a place he found to be fruitful should he be in need of some fast energy or starseeds. There were many vagrants and runaways who wound up in the park; it was easy to find them, to take from them what he needed, and tonight was no exception.
He felt, however, as he leaned over the lifeless woman on the ground, the encroaching - and disgusting - presence of an Order signature, pervading his thoughts. Wolfeite straightened, the starseed clutched between his gloved fingers, and took a few steps away, his gaze sweeping the area for the intruder.
It was easy to find her, in that ludicrous costume.
Wolfeite went towards her without hesitation, pushing the starseed into his mouth and letting the burn of it shiver down his throat, warmth in his stomach as he walked.
"Going somewhere, kitten?"

Zhou Yi was probably one of the most upbeat senshi someone could run into.
She had taken the idea of being a Magical Girl and ran with it like it was a role she was born to play. She smiled a lot, even when she was in danger, even when things were hard. However when she turned that corner her face suddenly changed as her cyan eyes instantly were drawn to the figure on the ground, unmoving.
She could not stop the cold shudder run down her spine or the sickly feeling that built up in her core. On hearing him address her, bright eyes moved to look at him, her expression a mixture of concern, confusion and most obviously disgust.
She was not going to stand for this. Civilians did not know the rules; they were not a part of the game they played.
"Me? I ain't going anywhere sugar. I have found what I was looking for~"
She tried to remain confident and refused to let him know how unsettled she felt. Still, convern for the woman on the ground was in the forefront of her mind. She would have to get her away from him, first and foremost.

Her upbeat, positive nature was a grating one on his nerves; Wolfeite found it highly annoying, almost an affront to his own personality, to the world itself. Why was it that the White Moon were so deluded that they had to believe they were accomplishing some sort of justice for Earth, and therefore so much better than the right ones?
It was sad. Pathetic.
Wolfeite licked his lips beneath the kerchief, tasting the remnants of the pilfered starseed, his eyes fixated on the senshi. He had no idea what exactly she was supposed to be, but those tails alone made him curl his lip in disgust, his gaze raking over her with obvious disdain.
"Good," he said, "So have I."
And he lunged, a fist aimed at her stomach.

Cyan eyes fixed on him as he moved towards her, instinct taking hold as she jumped backwards out of his reach. Yi was not experienced in battle, she was not a fighter, however given recent events she was getting good at running away. She had come to learn that Senshi were versatile and no two held the same qualities, what she lacked in strength she made up for in speed. Wooden sandals clicked and echoed as they hit the concrete footpath that lead through the park; she was evading him, mainly because her focus was not on the battle but the lifeless body that was laid near the greenery. She could not fight him - not whilst she was this distracted.
The Guardian of the Sesshoseki; her first priority was always to protect mortal lives, that was why she took on the role of a Magical Girl in the first place. It was the reason for her awakening. She swerved and ducked, darting under his arm before she ran towards the woman without hesitation and at super mortal speed. The redhead did not look back, did not check to see if he was chasing behind her. She needed to do this, for her own mental tranquillity, so she could fight without holding back.
Skidding to a kneel by her side the Senshi rolled her onto her back, cyan eyes looking her up and down for signs of injury. Nothing seemed too obvious, nothing seemed to have caused her to be this out of it, though to be fair energy draining hardly ever left a lasting mark. It was not until long, slender fingers were pressed against the woman's neck that Zhou Yi felt a very obvious shiver run down her spine. A sickly feeling build up in her stomach and for a second she could not breathe, fear like she had never felt before washed over her - bringing tears to her eyes.
What did he do?
A cold wind howled, leaves rustled around them as Yi brought her hands to the woman's sternum, pressing down on it like she had been taught in homeroom. What did he do? The senshi, hands shaking and panicked suddenly became aware of her own vulnerability, only then looking over towards the agent. What was SHE going to do?

Running away, Wolfeite thought, really ought to have been a practice disposed of. A tactless, cowardly method of dealing with things, and as his fist hit nothing but air, he let out a snarl of anger, his eyes flashing in the darkness around them.
He cared little for the civilian. She was nothing but a means to an end, and she'd served her purpose. Wolfeite did not chase after the senshi, but instead stood and waited, his body rigid with the tension of holding back, his entire mind focused solely on the figure behind him.
He hadn't turned around. He knew she was there, could sense it, and still he waited.
"How pathetic," said Wolfeite calmly, and his shoes made soft thumping sounds on the ground as he made his way over to where she knelt, trying desperately to save a life that was no longer in existence. He regarded her quietly for a moment, amused by her attempts.
"Let me tell you something, senshi."
He reached down and seized the front of her fuku, dragging her viciously and harshly away from the body on the ground. Wolfeite's kerchief had slipped, and now a wide, maniacal grin was visible across his face, twisting his features.
"You can't save everyone," he hissed, and threw her to the side.

kuropeco Sailor Scout Attack: Enerugī Nusumu Ishi | エネルギー盗む石 | Energy Stealing Stone Sailor Zhou calls out her attack name and closes her hand into a fist. When she opens her palm it is revealed that small, glowing, marble sized stones have materialised (*Note these stones are magic and disintegrate after the attack ends). She throws these stones at his opponent and the stones manoeuvre to form a circle around them - a magical rope chain connects them to complete the circle.
The stones glow brighter as they drain the energy from their captor. This attack lasts for only a few seconds before the stones have taken their fill and fall lifelessly to the ground before dematerializing. This attack will leave the victim feeling like they have just ran vigorously for a few minutes ie, they will be out of breath and fatigued - They will need a moment to catch their breathe before they can continue the battle. Zhou can use this attack twice per battle. Zhou Yi felt him pick her up like she was no more than a doll, however as she was pulled from her floor she did not feel fear or offer resistance. She was dead weight, shocked to the point of numbness. She had never lost anybody before, never seen a body, she felt sick and to protect herself she shut down.
As he threw her her body acted like paper in the wind, she landed on the fluffiest part of her fuku and luckily the trails absorbed most of the impact. However, the thud was enough to snap her back to reality and in a moment she was on her feet. Half from panic, half from a mindless rage. Cyan eyes flashed white hot as she snapped at him.
"No, we can't save everyone. But that does not mean I am not going to try." Because leaving someone to their fate was putting the final nail in the coffin. He was a monster, he needed to be taken out, but she could not do that alone. She was not naive enough to think so.
Summoning her magic she quickly threw her attack towards him, hoping that in the confusion and exhaustion she would be able to escape. As soon as she let go of the stones, she set off running in the trees. She was moving faster than usual and she realised; this was what running for your life must feel like.

He liked the sound of her body hitting the ground, liked even more that she did not resist him, did not fight back. Wolfeite's eyes were glinting with pleasure; though it was short lived, the senshi's fuku preventing most of his throw.
A hiss of irritation passed through his clenched teeth.
"Always so full of yourselves," Wolfeite snarled, but the magic hit him like a hammer, and he gasped out a sound, his chest heaving, staggering where he stood. The senshi was booking it now, trying to get away from him, and he could have gone after her, could have chased her.
But he didn't.
Instead, Wolfeite waited out the magic, his pulse throbbing, his chest tight, and watched. She was a coward, then, but Wolfeite was not dumb enough to risk things by running after her. He would let her go for now, and when he found her again...
Well. It would be a delight.
