Background: Karìn was a scientist long before things went sour on Lim. She studied in some of the roughest fields and always seemed to come out on top but her strange obsession with making humans more powerful, and more capable always caught quite a lot of ire. It became even worse when she was twenty years of age and begun to speak to other scientific leaders about potentially funding a program she wanted to create. She wanted to create a program that would allow humans to tap into even more than they already were. She wanted to make humans nearly perfect. She wanted to sharpen the mind and empower the body. Seeing as these were times of extreme peace she was not only stripped of any official titles she had but her ideas on this program were shot down and even made her somewhat of a local villain.
Karìn however wasn't willing to sit this out and sought out like minded people with enough intellect to assist her. When she had what she needed, a seedy private lab, a few people willing to create weapons, and a dream of making mankind a near unstoppable race she begun her project. It was split into two parts and she called the two programs differently. There was the Alpha project which was meant to sharpen the mind and make the human brain so powerful that it could potentially allow humans to control objects and lesser minded species with mere thought alone. Then there was the Omega project, a project meant to make the human body far surpass it's original capabilities. Humans would be stronger, faster, and more agile than any animal or being on the planet.
Strangely Karìn lost interest in the Alpha program and put it off to the side as she worked on the Omega program. However as she worked her program was slowly leaked to the outside world. For fear of getting arrested many of her workers left, but not her. Karìn continued to work although many others had fled. She was determined to finish at least the Omega program. Sadly three years after she had begun her project it seemed it was on it's last legs. She was now the only soul working on the project and she did so with near psychotic will. She had now based her life on this project and would see it through.
The day of reckoning had come however. Authorities had caught up to her and were now barking at her door, and would soon break in. She knew the Omega project wasn't finished but now she had no choice. There were no subjects to test this potentially harmful project on. She would however rather die than let her research and hard work go untested. Karìn hooked herself up to a large table that had a multitude of needles and screens. This terrifying looking table was the prototype for Project Omega, and before authorities could break into her lab she remotely activated the program in hopes of either dying with her creation or ascending as she had originally believed she would.
The prototype was a success.
She slipped into a coma and the authorities decided to leave her be as they knew unhooking her would only kill her. They left the woman to rot away with her beloved creation, her beloved Project Omega. What they didn't know was that Karìn was very much conscious. The machine was running her through a hellish nightmare of training regiments, creating what the project believed to be a better human. The serums that were inside the needles would pump her veins and muscles with a toxin she had created for this exact reason. The toxin was to create stronger muscle mass, bone and things of that assortment. The training coupled with the serum made her grow taller, stronger, and strangely made her more attractive. Before the program she was maybe a four out of ten in terms of looks, but after the program she was a twenty out of ten. There was however a severe drawback.
The project cost her twenty years of being comatose. Her mind however was also not prepared for the terrible torture the body and mind would receive. Twenty years of hard training inside her mind and twenty years of being injected with the serum gave her sanity a severe beating and even left her with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.) Her obsession with her project ruined much of her life and stole years that could not be replaced. It also left her a little hollow inside and stole much of her passion for the things she once knew.
When Karìn woke she could see the remnants of her past lab sitting before her. The straps, although old and weathered, were still strong. They however broke like tissue paper when she pulled against them. She now realized how much taller she was, how much stronger her build was, and how much prettier she was. This was an extreme relief to her. The program had worked yet the biggest relief was merely to be awake again. She than reentered society and remained on a low key not drawing much attention to herself. She even got a job working at a small privately owned retail store.
Twenty-four more years passed however and that was when the news about Lim struck. The whole world was in panic but for the first time she smiled a real smile. It was time for her to show what Omega could do, and it was time to reveal the second half of the Omega program, the half that she never showed even her closest worker.
She returned to her old lab and through a series of encrypted doors she got to her second finest piece of work. It was a suit of armor, a suit of armor so technologically advanced that even in her time of slumber no one could ever reproduce something of such magnitude. It's name was Celes, a name she was going to name a daughter if she ever had one. With Celes and her new empowered body she was ready to see just how powerful she was, and prove to those who shot down her dreams in the first place that she was right.
Strengths: Very intelligent, also has the abilities of the Omega Program (See Special Abilities), and has a good sense of direction. She can even lead quite well if one is willing to put up with her attitude. She's also an amazing cook.
Weaknesses: PTSD, and the occasional emotional/mental breakdown due the experiment. She's not very friendly. Her greatest weakness however is how fearless she is. Even if injured and on the verge of dying she will continue to fight and will not run from anything.
Likes: Celes, Project Alpha & Omega, weaponry, tart foods, sugary drinks (soda), cats, horses, old black and white films.
Dislikes: Scientists, hippies, cowards, candy, coffee or tea, dogs (really hates dogs), Shide, and idiots.
Personality: Karìn is a very blunt, and a no nonsense kind of woman. She has very little time for jokes, games, or even people. This does not mean she can't work with people. She does tend to take charge of things when it comes to leading a team and feels her word she always hold weight in any conversation. There is no cuddly side to her, but there is a gentle side that can be seen from time to time.
Special Abilities: Her speed, strength, agility and many other natural abilities are heightened to a sense far beyond that of the typical human. She could arm wrestle a gorilla and win or dodge long range gun fire. This is without her suit as well. Even her flexibility is so grotesque that she could creep out contortionists.
Weapons: Her weapon is not only her body but a multi-purpose cannon that is attached to her armor Celes. The cannon can fire energy beams, missiles, rockets, grenades, and even has a built in energy sword. This gun is her main weapon and she uses it without hesitation. She also has an old timey metal combat knife, and an energy pistol when not in her armor. Seeing her outside of it is quite rare however.
Armor: Celes is a highly functional, extreme condition resistant, power suit. It can deflect rockets with ease and show no signs of damage and boosts her already intense strength and speed by high multiples. The Celes suit can also analyze targets and other power suits down to it's very wiring and can even think on it's own. The suit can even activate itself and work without the wearer but only if the wearer is in harm. The suit also has it's own "personality" as well as it's own AI whenever it feels this is a needed function. It is the most technologically advanced piece of artwork to date.
